@Appealing to the Masses I honestly don't even think that the flight from white forest to the arctic should even be a part of the game, considering that everything in Half-Life takes place in real time, there would be no way to make a flight that long enjoyable from beginning to end. I think the game should start either after Gordon and Alyx crashed, or a little while before they crash. But I do think it would be somewhat fitting in a sequence like that.
We should let fans do their things more often. We live in era where fans can create something much better than high budget companies. SUPER GOOD JOB. HYPE
It was definitely inspired by it, i can imagine we will hear this song when we will crawl through some ice shelf and see the Borealis itself! Sort of like in that Half-Life hcapter when we saw Black Mesa complex in desert and canyons in a distance!
The themes/synths from both the Half-Life and Portal Soundtracks being meshed together like this not only sounds AMAZING, but makes total sense, since the Borealis is an Aperture Science vessel.
Guys, you have my total respect for taking your own time on expending this iconic series. Very well done! I wish I had the skills you are looking for to help you in this journey. Cheers!
Look Valve, another masterclass in not letting down your fanbase. The quality of your work is hype worthy, thank your for bringing us along on this journey.
Lol The title of the song is a double entendre referencing copy right law because the composition comes close to 2 particular songs that already exist in half life and portal. xD The song is great and I don't want it to change. I just find that amusing.
Awesome it has old elements and it makes me hyped even though I don’t know where will I be when the game releases but I’ll be waiting for it as long as I can
@@IdRatherNotHaveAHandleThankYou At the time, I meant Gaben didn't care anymore. With the release of Half Life Alyx, though, it means that Valve might start caring about Half Life again.
This is absolutely perfect. Y'all should definitely make an extended version at least about 10 mns long (like some of those other tracks of the OST are)
Man this would go so freaking well in a trailer: A combine control room with multiple monitors overlooking the Borealis and the combine structures around it . On one monitor you can see Gordon passing by with Alyx . The Overwatch Voice sounds the alarm: "Alert. Exogen breach detected. Perimeter comunication status zero. Anticitizen One and Vance Subprime detected in sector E-7. All stabilization teams deploy to infection area. Code reminder: Cauterize and expunge." At second 0:24 a team of combine elites activate their visor with a sound like Sam Fisher's nightvision and one says: "Team Four, Team Nine assemble and reinforce, Leader Nine closing for local control." The elites then start to leave the control room in a hurry and as they leave, on the screen with the Borealis phasing in and out of our dimension, the Gman can be seen on the deck looking into yonder.... As the music ends, the Project Borealis logo starts to materialize as the other imagery fades out.
Even if half life alyx kinda made this game irrelevant to the canon story, I still think this would make a dope fan game, even if it's an alternate universe.(honestly valve probably won't get around to making a canon half life 3 soooo go nuts)
Just realized the song name is a different way to say "Hazardous Environments" with the same meaning. Super clever!
It’s the same minimalistic guitar motif as well, but with Portal 2 textures blended in. Just beautiful.
It also sounds like hazardous enviroments
Oh I didn’t know that.
It’s honestly stunning how this was made in a completely different way to half life instrumentally but is still immediately recognisable as half life.
Josh JeanJacket Jaeger I think it’s that high treble drum beat that makes a half life ost.
This one just has to be used on a Valve-like startup screen. Or maybe when you find the Borealis.
TableLegs yeah
We should upvote this
finding the borealis with this song would be bone chilling
Well it is basically a distorted valve theme with portal like synths in the background.
@Appealing to the Masses

I wasn't sure what to expect at first but when that first note kicked in...
Time to crowbar some headcrabs.
the first note felt like.... putting a suit on....
in a vent
"Put your glasses back on Doctor Freeman..
It's crowbar time..."
"Gordon and alyx try to stop a XK class Event - Episode 3"
Some FURRY headcrabs, mate.
Sounds beautifully half lifey.
It's amazing how a song can hype me so much
*"I have been very excited to shoot some benefactors."*
"I've been excited to shoot some benefactors."
(says gordon)
project borealis DESERVES to be funded by Valve.
the community demands it.
agreed
If Valve funded project borealis then they would basically be admitting to never making a half-life 3.
When you first saw Project Borealis, were your blinded by its majesty?
Blinded?
Paralyzed? Dumbstruck?
@@Phaz0nFckr i think its the opposite, if they funded it theyd be esentailly making hl3 since thats what project borealis is supposed to be.
This makes me feel both franchises merging in one awesome game
I have been very excited to shoot some benefactors
0:23
all of these sound extremely half-lifey
It's actually partly a distorted version of the valve theme (that also plays when you get the hev suit in Half life 2)
I Keep Reading This As "Half-Likey"
well.. its a half life game..
Hazadous environement + for science
What a magnificient mix
Hazardous Science?

You guys managed to make the most badass song of all time even more badass.
Exactly.

Especially after comparing Black Mesa and Cyberpunk 2077
You have no idea how much this hyped me as soon as I heard it!
I have been very excited to shoot some benefactors.
Threatening domain/hazardous environments. I get it
My man.
That bass twang gives me goosebumps every time.
Amazing song.
Love the beat. So chill, mystifying, intense and otherworldly all at the same time!
Hazardous environment?
yep

the title is just synonyms of hazardous environments lol
Welcome to the H.E.V. Mark *6* Protective System...
Dang that's just badass and this theme fits too, i wonder what new abilities it would provide
Wow. Hair standing up on the back of my neck when those Portal 2 arpeggios come in. God damn. So hyped.
This sounds exactly what I'd expect an evolved HL to sound like.
Good to see you guys are still pushing
Perfect.
Sounds kinda like Portal soundtrack for me. Nice track.
To be fair, Aperture Science did make the Borealis icebreaker ship, so that would make sense.
@@Pikminiman You are right
I mean, the Portal soundtrack was pretty cool, having the effect of being dynamic and constantly moving, playing through the environment.
hearing this while having sight on the borealis or entering it for the first will make me die
I recommend taking a listen to the Project Borealis sound-cloud, they haven't uploaded the best of their work on YT, in my opinion.
I got goosebumps as soon as I heard the first note.
You have no idea what kind of goosebumps I got from that FIRST NOTE.
Oh shit i can hear Kelly Bailey style in this! Excellent job :D

Hot damn is this track amazing! It make me want to portal gun through a wall and then crowbar a combine soldier!
As soon as that first note kicked in I felt a wave go over my body and my hairs stood on end, absolutely amazing.
