While she does participate in this route with you, she tries to stop you, making her not wildly out of her character. But that is just my opinion.

Regardless of the point about this likely being ness and paula at the start of Earthbound is true or not, it's a moot point when you're forgetting about the unseen factor here.. the player. Sure, post-game ness and paula would beat kris, susie and noelle with ease under normal circumstances, but these aren't normal circumstances. After all, this isn't a party of three.. it's a party of four. We're here too after all.. and defeating 'us' would be difficult, if not impossible..
@@goldendice3059 even with the player's help i don't really know, Ness and the rest can dodge from light based attacks to even be able to tank attacks from multidimensional beings and even hurt said beings, they are able to heal, teleport, and we can't forget that they also can receive help from the player, who was the main factor in Earthbound that made them able to defeat Gygas.
@@Raincloud5137 That's true, but in this particular scenario, we're controlling Kris and co., meaning that in Deltatraveler, Ness and Paula would be without the player's support, and as you mentioned yourself, it was the player who was the key factor in Earthbound that made them capable of defeating Giygas. But this time, the player is on the other side of the conflict.. In short, without the player's support, there was only one way any clash between the two parties was going to end.. Ness and Paula were doomed to fail the moment they tried to attack.
Basically, the deltarune gang is experiencing this from their perspective. So what seems like little HP in earthbound might seem like a lot to them. They do have the unfair advantage of being able to dodge everything though so it cancels out.
I done that route with kris only and the starting equipment only (I did have to reactivate Susie for napstablook so I wouldn't get softlocked and I deactivate Susie after)

I mean, the power to save and load is something that Kris, or, more likely, US, has canonical control over. So, if Ness’s fate manipulation is also canon, it would be a stalemate.
This fight is one of the most wild , A very curious detail is that if you try to kill Paula, Ness directly cures her so that this does not happen, winking at the fact that she is his friend and must protect her, Kris also seems to use another type As a weapon when facing Paula alone, since the X-SLASH is different from the bat that is used and it may be that this weapon is the same knife that hit the sans in section 3, it's like he'll get tired and have no choice but to use that weapon (also don't forget that when he fought alongside Noelle while Susie was gone everything felt stagnant and he had no choice but to fight Closely.
Ik this is the players perspective and the player should win but realistically Ness and Just Paula alone could destroy them even at a low level considering Kris has less HP then a Mole Playing Rough lol

ngl canon ness would literally be able to kill kris cus of the whole him being able to come back after dying stuff, in earthbound, but its fair they did this since they had to nerf the characters kinda for the game,
Is it even canon to consider all the times a character die in games? It's sort of an unwritten rule that any gameplay things like deaths, grinding, MP and stuff are not canon in the events of the game unless said otherwise.
The only thing I dislike about this fight (and the whole genocide route) is how the the characters refuse to attack. It’s cool and all, but it really fucks you over.
Composite Ness would include Smash Bros as well. And he is able to scale to Kirby. But if we're going off of games then Ness still wins, cause he can just use his Fate Manipulation to give him an auto win and us a gameover.
I played the boss fight twice and won both times. Now I have a reserved save file so in case I want to do it again without going through kill I can just spawn back before this encounter. Diabolical? Yes it is.
I like to think that in this fight, paula meanwhile attacks start spamming "pray", giving him acces to "pk starstorm" and things like this, until the last moment, who play dead until we leave Then, whit all his strength, pray for reviving all the one's that we killed... What? I like happy endings

It is, quite literally, early-game Paula and Ness, hence why the others aren't there. You're fighting them near happy happy village
Considering it's just Ness and Paula, Jeff and Poo aren't here yet, it's at least before you recruit those two.
Deltarune Susie: I love violence!
Deltatraveler Susie: Nooo Kris stop attacking people!!!
I can just imagine multi-rocket-bottles
If Jeff was here, Ness would insta win
@@Alex-gg9ht yeah fr he whould prob also win of he THOUGHT OF HEALING ITEMS
Theres a reason ness starts with 0 iq
bro how does ness and paula have so much hp in earthbound a single fire attack oneshots half of ur team
Basically, the deltarune gang is experiencing this from their perspective. So what seems like little HP in earthbound might seem like a lot to them.
They do have the unfair advantage of being able to dodge everything though so it cancels out.
Really cool, I want to know who made that Earthbound Megalovania Cover
@supermegakosta Yes, but it sounds different from the Toby made, I want to find the cover xd

A Paula se le olvidó rezar, yo siempre usé esa habilidad contra todos los jefes
I just spam psi freeze b or a untill the enemy is dead

Más bien le faltó subir más de nivel a Ness y Paula
Si xd
When I first saw this, I actually cried when they were killed
2x
although Ness is very nerfed in this battle
Yep
Me: Kicks Kris in the Balls with the POWER BOOTS AND SLAY HIM WITH A Energy Sword
Ness' Lifeup skill in battle: bye lol
Its funny that ness sound is literally just him saying OK
I done that route with kris only and the starting equipment only (I did have to reactivate Susie for napstablook so I wouldn't get softlocked and I deactivate Susie after)
Off topic but it makes sense it'd be a hard fight
Think about it
It takes a hard to Kill the Enemies alone with the 3 but Ness is required to solo it making Ness Considerably stronger I'd say Paula makes sense too since she is the better Magic User
These children aren't weak, they have psychic powers.
8:06 Wait is starstorm something that Paula can even learn?! I haven’t fully played the game yet but I thought that attack was exclusive to Poo.
It isn’t, you’re right it is exclusive to poo.
@@anthonyloveschickens then what other attack does that represent that could be from her?
@@ChipsofShrimp It is PK starstorm. I guess that she instantly realized the power from the trauma or something (PD: In smash bros, we are told that Poo taught ness how to use it)
1:26 what’s this music ?
I nearly died on that last Paula attack
Kris and noelle were down and susie was on 1 hp
7:56 I don't know why Susie smiles in some turns, or why noelle put her hand in her face
Susie's actually mad + They refuse to fight on those turns
Amazing gameplay of this amazing fan gamr
Guys
Did y’all notice ness and pula have to same
Attack that asreil have with the chaos breaker and chaos stars
that’s very cool
like really cool and it’s quite new to me..
It’s meant to be their psychic powers they have in the game
*Susie-Kills Kris with Red Buster*
*Susie-10 seconds later-"Is that all you got? Kris, get up...!"*
8:12 even noelle shows that she hates you for killing them
hot take: in a real fight (no game mechanics) Ness and Paula would absolutely smoke Kris and Susie.
True, Kris only has 64 HP. It would be very easy to kill them.
I mean, the power to save and load is something that Kris, or, more likely, US, has canonical control over. So, if Ness’s fate manipulation is also canon, it would be a stalemate.
@@jacksonvoet8312 yeah Ness’ dad saves his place by altering the space time continuum for some reason
And that’s literally what happens. 99% of players only win this fight because they get to try try again
8:01 Hmmm a familiar attack..
Asriel dreemer
Imagine what the fight with Giygas would be like
i do love the earthbound samples used in the song, really helps set the tone
It makes no sense for the horn of life to not work but nevertheless this is a crazy fight.
Earthbound "murder" = Neutralized Deltatraveler murder = murder
@@bitrr3482 dead earthbound characters become literal fucking ghosts on the overworld, and the horn of life reverts that, they are not knocked out or anything, literally dead.
@@DeltaBlazinKris is simply built different
@@dataexpunged4784 the game needs to game i guess
But it'd be cooler if the horn of life worked as it should have and you'd have to fight both ness and paula not holding back

I think it's because Kris gang or form another world, and used another worlds weapon, something the horn of life may not have power over
I love this fight just because of how much NOBODY wants to legit fight, only being forced by you the player. Also you murdered two children but go off queen
I LOVE THAT PAULA USES THE DAMN HALOWEEN HACK MEGALOVANIA
ngl canon ness would literally be able to kill kris cus of the whole him being able to come back after dying stuff, in earthbound, but its fair they did this since they had to nerf the characters kinda for the game,

@@BoredomIncarnate16 thats my point???, ive literally been saying that this whole time
Is it even canon to consider all the times a character die in games? It's sort of an unwritten rule that any gameplay things like deaths, grinding, MP and stuff are not canon in the events of the game unless said otherwise.
@@on-zm8sg kinda yeah since we’d do the same for deltarune

EARTHBOUND RIGHT THERE
Paula perfectly hitting quads is crazy
Why the horn of life didn't work???
Ness was already dead and Horn of Life only works on persons who had been Knocked out and not dead I think
The only thing I dislike about this fight (and the whole genocide route) is how the the characters refuse to attack. It’s cool and all, but it really fucks you over.

@@eldemi-drippv7099 👍🏻🇺🇸
Composite Ness would include Smash Bros as well. And he is able to scale to Kirby. But if we're going off of games then Ness still wins, cause he can just use his Fate Manipulation to give him an auto win and us a gameover.
I took so long to beat is because ever 3 turns of doing damage i needed to defend and stock up on health with noelle
God: have you prayed today?
Paula: oops
i love the fact that when at the end of the song Pula died 12:33

How tf Paula got galacta blaze and the star attack from Asriel...
Spells in earthbound i think from what i have read in the coments idk never played it
PK STARSTORM!!!!!!
Has nobody noticed a different remix of megalovania is playing?
It’s a slightly remixed version of "Dr. Andonuts's rage" from EB: halloween hack. Search it if you want to.
I played the boss fight twice and won both times. Now I have a reserved save file so in case I want to do it again without going through kill I can just spawn back before this encounter. Diabolical? Yes it is.
what if u attack paula on the first phase?
She just heals all the damage.
@@ultraz9319 Actually It's Ness that's healing since he's the healer
You still should kill Ness first, she won't die
I like to think that in this fight, paula meanwhile attacks start spamming "pray", giving him acces to "pk starstorm" and things like this, until the last moment, who play dead until we leave
Then, whit all his strength, pray for reviving all the one's that we killed...
What? I like happy endings
Imagine if sans was actually ness and Megalovania started playing
And if in Undertale sans used pk fire
Fr I rly wanted Ness to be phase 2
Missed opportunity to make Dr. Andonuts the final boss
Imagine if u killed enemys in section 2 with iceshock would get snowgrave and u could use it on the children (that would make this fight more unsettling if u use snowgrave)
If it was late Game and ness used psi rock'n Ω they would ve dead in less of 3.2 seconds
If this was late game you’d have Jeff and Poo with you too and they could probably be dead faster
