As many of you have mentioned, we did miss a lot of the attractions in the park. Next time we’ll be sure to cover the entire thing. We really want to bring our family and friends too next time so it’ll be cool to experience some parts for the first time 🤗

Efteling is not the dutch version of Disneyland, instead, Disneyland is the American version of Efteling.

You guys should wait a couple of years. Right now the building of the new hotel is delayed and they are building a new themed area called dance macabre. This is where the old spookslot (haunted castle) used to be. When all this is finished then come again and feel the world of Efteling the way it is meant to be

I don't know if Disney actually visitted Efteling, but it's a very common thing to hear. Efteling does precede the first Disney park, but in its infant years wasn't actually that much of a theme park. It was basically the fairytale forest (with much less fairytales than now), an outdoor pool and canoo lake until they opened the first big attraction (which was also a walkthough) in 1978. It wasn't until after Python opened in 1981 that Efteling really started to grow faster and faster, and started growing into one of the biggest theme parks in Europe.
Personally I also don't quite agree with comparing it to Disney. I think Disney is very commercial and American, while Efteling draws from those old and darker European fairytales and folklore. Disney has more funds and creates great rides, but nothing beats the style and atmosphere of Efteling. Just my two cents.
Omg as an Efteling fan I wished the DIsney story was true. But Efteling itself multiple times admitted the story is not true. :(
Disney and Efteling do have a close bond together and work together. Efteling got asked for advice on European culture when Disney Paris was being build. You can even hear Efteling music in Disney parks on some of the carousels. You can find clips on YT of this.
Disney'S Tony Baxter, an fan of Efteling, even helped Efteling get an big theme park award in 2005
We are learning so much reading these comments. Thank you for sharing all of your “two cents” and feel to write more. We really love learning about Efteling. All of the things we missed make us want to come again knowing more background to the park and its relationship to Disney.

Hello 🤗 yeah we didn’t film a lot of the dark rides because they show up so poorly, but we definitely want to come back again and see the rest of the park 🥰

Efteling is a park you need to go with an experienced eftelinger to get more details if you want! You'll get more in love for sure

After visiting this year, it quickly became one of our favourite parks! We are making it an annual trip from now on and are booked for summer next year!

Walt Disney did visit Efteling. That is how he started Disneyland. It is a wonderful themapark, Efteling . It is a little darter than Disneyland. But i love Efteling since i was a Child, now i go with my kids. Espesially in July/August or november/december. ❤

Walt never visited the efteling... the 'rumor' was started by the then active P.R. manager working for the Efteling....

Please make sure you have at least 2 days and stay in the resort (1 night stay includes 2 days in the park).
The vlog was great, but they literally just did half of the attractions. So many wonderful dark rides and shows they missed. Please come and see for yourself

In my opinion, the roof at the entrance gate to this tourist spot is similar to the roof of one of the traditional Indonesian houses called Rumah Gadang (Gadang house)

Het Sprookjesbos is actually a museum in itself (Efteling is one of the first theme-parks at least in Europe.
Disney knew of the designs and pictures by Anton Pieck.

There' are way older 'theme' or 'amusement' parks. Like for instance Tivoli in Kopenhagen. And there's one that claims to be 100's of years old (forgot the name).

Tip: go when schools are working, go in the back of the ride. I once had 8 rides in a row without leaving the cart and going back into the line🙂 So with baron: choose the left doors

It seems that you missed a whole section of the park.. The Anton Pieck Square, Marerijk with Droomvlucht & Villa Volta.. Or they were closed at that time, which is a shame because it are 2 pearls of the park.
Not only that but how about fata morgana, max and moritz, phirana, vogel rok, carnival festival and so on

@@WyattandReyka during the sumerholidays (july and august it's open from 10:00 til 22:00) For the best experience because you have only seen 25% (in this video) of the park, you should stay a few nights in one of the special Efteling holidayparks or in the hotel (second hotel is coming in 2025)
For sure. We'd love to come back and do a whole Efteling series eventually. The world is just so big and there's so many places to see haha
There is no proof that Walt Disney visited the Efteling. But it is possible. Walt Disney has visited a lot of parks in Europe before he build his park. Some animatronics in the Efteling pre-dates the parks by Walt Disney
The imagineers from Disney do visit the Efteling. And some attractions in Efteling have been inspired on Disney attractions.

Yes and when Disneyland Paris was build, they asked Efteling to help.
Walt never went to Efteling. He was in NL in 1951 visiting studios doing the Dutch dubs of the movies. Efteling was a sportpark with a children's playground in 1951. The Fairytale Forest only opened in 1952.
I'm from The Netherlands and yes Efteling is awesome, next year there's also an new ghost house, before it was Spookkasteel, new name is Dance Macabre.

Only non dutch people (especially Americans) call it the dutch Disneyland. Imo it is better than Disney but i am extremely biased.😂
And no i do not think Walt visited the Efteling he did however visited Denmark (Tivoli Gardens). So the credits should be giving to Denmark.

Why foreigners always say the Dutch Disneyland, it's not Disneyland has nothing to do with Disney. It even is older than Disneyland.
Honestly not sure. But I’d guess it’s because Disneyland is a nice frame of reference as the most well-known theme park in the world, it quickly tells a lot of people what kind of park Efteling is. Also, it makes people curious about what’s different about a Dutch theme park than the commercialised American one

@@WyattandReyka you can rent appartments for 4 persons, houses for 4, 6, 8, 12 and 24 people. 😉 You rent included the entrance fee and is a lot cheaper (food also) as Disneyland Paris.

A Little fact Efteling started in 1952, the first Disneyland started in 1955 so why could this be a Dutch Disneyland 😂
Most folks know Disneyland and the double “D” sound is quite catchy so we put it in the title. Didn’t mean any offence! We love Efteling and hope to bring family back to explore soon 🥰

May I remind you that "De Efteling" preceded the mere existence of the concept "Disneyland", and not proven, but highly likely was the very one inspiration to Walt Disney for his "Disneylands".
Thus, historically and overall correct would be naming Walt Disney's "Disneylands" "Disney's Eftelings".👴🧐😎

What strange comments people can make here, 90% is made up. The fact is that Efteling is a lot older than Disneyland. The fact is that Mr. Disney has been to Efteling, but Mr. Disney has been to more parks in Europe
Disney is nooit in de Efteling geweest. Stop pushing this urban myth. And Efteling sport & recreation park started in the early 1920's. A playground was added in the late 1930's. The Fairytale Forest opened in 1952 (a year after Disney visited the Dutch studios doing the Dutch versions of the movies). The (1900-ish) steam carrousel was permanently added in 1956.

Nice, but... please stop calling Efteling the Dutch Disneyland! Because:
1) It's better. Especially better than the park in Paris with its rude staff and overdue maintenance.
2) It's older. So you should call Disneyland the American Efteling 😊

Because Disney is more well known though, at least globally, we wanted to put dutch Disneyland in the title to help folks understand, at a glance, what Efteling is. We think it’ll get more folks interested in such an AMAZING, lesser known place.

We’re genuinely just struggling to understand why this is so bad as after visiting both they’re so similar in so many ways. Also, we feel like having the brand “Dutch Disneyland” will intrigue a lot of foreigners who will spend money and bring more visitors to Efteling!
