Sirocco (Haven’t ridden Sirocco, but I have ridden Monsieur Cannibale, which I really enjoyed. And from what I’ve heard, Sirocco is better. Fun flat ride with a nice score and good attention to detail. For a tea cup ride, it has quite a bit of pace to it.) 14. Spookslot (I’m going to get my last ride on this classic soon. Sad to see it go. The queue line has a lot of hidden details, which are neat. The main show isn’t necessarily scary, but it does an odd feel to it. The story is really swept under the rug, which is a pity. The attention to detail for a ride that originated back in 1978 is great. Danse Macabre (the music) is just amazing. The interactive elements in the queue line are nice, but the line does move quite fast. The theming, landscaping and music are good. The onboard audio makes this one for me.) 11. Piraña (Amazing fun with family and friends. You’re going to be laughing non stop when they get wet, you’re going to get laughed at when you get wet. And wet you can get. The landscaping, theming and music is really solid and the manually controlled water cannons are great.) 10. Sprookjesbos (Such a weird one to rank. It’s the park’s core and soul. I adore it. You can spend so much time here. The fairy tales are depicted in many different ways, which truly makes all the fairy tales unique. My favourite is definitely the Indian Waterlilies. It’s just fantastic.) 9. Python (A classic coaster in with a modern and smooth track. A very nostalgic ride. Also my first ever looping ride. Can’t go wrong with this one, but it lacks theming, compared to other rides.) 8. Symbolica (A lot of people are going to think this is way to low. It kind of is, but there’s tough competition at the park. I also prefer Fata Morgana and Droomvlucht, as they are nostalgic to me, which Symbolica is not. That doesn’t mean the ride is not gorgeous. It’s great. The planetary, the greenhouse and the dance floor are all amazing scenes, for example. I think the different tours are very similar, but it’s still a neat thing to make the ride more re-rideable. It’s a tough choice, picking a top 15. You’ll have to make decisions. More than 10 rides deserve to be in the actual top 10, so I have to make tough decisions based of off slight preferences.) 7. Joris en de Draak (Best coaster(s) in the park. You get thrown around your seat nonstop during the ride. It’s out of control. I don’t have a preference for either water or fire, I love both. What keeps it down, in my opinion, is the theming. It’s not bad, but it’s not as good as a lot of other large scale attractions at the park. The dragon has been stationary for very long, and it will stay that way. It was a very impressive sight, to see it breathing fire, but those days are gone. That’s basically the biggest theming element reduced to a shadow of its former self. The score is solid. The interaction in the station is good. Just sad to see that the dragon is such a maintenance nightmare.) 6. Fata Morgana (Fata Morgana and Droomvlucht are both absolutely amazing. Fata Morgana can go a little darker, though, and I love the music. The ride is also really long, with many impressive scenes. I keep feeling that little bit of anxiety each time, with the djinn, the tigers and the man with the gun. It feels like they might actually attack/hit you, which is great. Almost made my top 5.) 5. Droomvlucht (Gorgeous, sweet, wonderful. The scenes are exactly that. The castles seem grand and the forests are dense and full of life. The ride system fits like a tee, as you feel a sense of flight and it also allows for the ride to be a pseudo coaster near the end. And that’s all from 1993. Wow.) 4. Villa Volta (The story is great, I just wish it’d be told in other languages as well, so that foreigners would understand it better. The Villa is beautifully themed and the music is the absolute best in the entire park. The madhouse effect never gets old.) 3. Baron 1898 (The drop is the most intense ride moment in the park. The rest of the layout is rock solid. Short but sweet. But the theming, music and story. Damn. It’s a complete package. This is probably the most beautiful coaster to see off ride as well. The cogs seemingly pulling up the train, the bell ringing when the train enters the holding break and when the holding break releases the train and the white women singing in the pit down below is great.) 2. Vogelrok (Amazing entrance and decent queue. You can actually see quite a few effects on board. The coaster seems a lot faster than it actually is. The onboard audio and the great sense of speed make this ride incredibly satisfying, I just wish the ride’s story was shown a little better.) 1. Vliegende Hollander (A complete package of a ride. Great plaza, queue, music, theming, story and darkride. Solid coaster and splash to top it all off. It’s also quite scary the first time and the mist scene is the pinnacle of minimalism. This was also my first ever roller coaster.) (So many hidden gems are not on this list. It is a testament to how great this park is.)
I'm English but went to Efteling around 32 years ago and still remember it to this day. Python, WITH TWO LOOPS, ahhhh to be a kid again. Am I misremembering but I'm sure we stayed on site in some kind of lodging, or perhaps at a nearby site with lodgings to rent? Would love to relive those memories
Love your list of my home-park (we have annual passes for Efteling). Just to let you know: The Bob isn't here anymore, it was closed in september 2019. On the spot where the Bob used to be is now a duelling kiddiecoaster Max & Moritz (opened June 2020). My favorites, in no particular order (I just have to ride them every time I'm in the park), are Max & Moritz, Vogel Rok, Python, Sirocco (replacement for Monsieur Cannibale, a tea cup ride), the whirly carrousel and Droomvlucht.
@@coasterhockygamingboy9549 Well Parks With An Arrow Or Vekoma Should Give Their Coaster A CSM Re-Track That's The Reason So Many Arrow's Get Torn Down. Because No One Takes The Chance Of CMS Helping Out And Make The Ride Smooth Again
For people like me, who grew up really close to the Efteling and going there like 1/2 times a month, Carnival Festival was a childhoof CARRIER, we had a whole show of Jokie en Jet on TV we would have already seen 1000 times but still good, it was always mine and a lot of kids here’s faveroute ride
0:36 fun fact: they chose this system because they are restricted to a height of 25m throughout most of the park. Because Pagode isn’t at height all the time it doesn’t break the limit
It's an interesting ride lineup. Python would easily be considered off the shelf at a Disney park but I wish all parks with an rough Arrow or Vekoma looper would put that same Python renovation into their rides. Baron 1898 to me is what a B&M would look like if Disney wanted them to build something for their parks. But what really surprised me was how Max & Mortiz wasn't on the list. What was wrong with that ride?
It's been a while since I've been to Efteling but from what I remember it is a very beautiful park which is great for families. It's not my favorite park but their rides are very good and fit perfectly with the park. My personal favorite ride there is Joris en de draak. I went there last time when Symbolica had just opened. The line was very long and the ride wasn't very impressive imo (I am more into rollercoasters really) but I might maybe give it another try because of your review.
Brill-one of my fav Theme Parks in the whole world, First went there when I went on and on to my mum and dad when I was 4 in Summer of 1985 and remember first seeing it on British holiday programme: Wish You Were Here! Will you do a top 15 for Europa Park, or if you haven't been there could still do a history video?? Do you also like museums as well??
I did a top 25 for Europa since it had more rides. It depends on the museum. I love science museums since I'm an engineer, but history museums can be a little dull for my tastes.
@@CanobieCoaster I do remember now, was going to edit my message but then fell asleep lol So you love science museums, but not a fan of certain history museums! How about history museums like: Madame Tussauds, Ripley's Believe It or Not! Also one of my fav museums is in York is:Jorvik Viking Centre and has one of my fav Dark Rides as well! Another one of my favs in county of Kent in Chislehurst called: Chislehurst Caves and is a combo of a museum and also cave tour!
I live like a 30 mins drive from here and i bought a anual pass for the park but i really miss a good intense coaster(btw the park has been closed for the 3th time for covid )
It's such a world of difference when compared to American parks. This is one of the best parks in the world, but the tallest ride (Pagode) is just 45 meters tall (little error, it's not 60 meters but oh well) and the tallest coaster is just 30 meters of 100 feet (Baron 1898). In fact, the second tallest structure in the park is the entrance, being only two meters short of Pagode (at 43). Heck, the park was so impressed by their own entrance, they even decided to give it a name: Het Huis van de Vijf Zintuigen, or in English: The House of the Five Senses, which I think is a pretty cool name.
My top 15 (purely based on personal enjoyment, not on objective quality): 1. Fairytale Forest 2. Vogel Rok 3. Joris en de Draak 4. Droomvlucht 5. Symbolica 6. Fata Morgana 7. De Vliegende Hollander 8. Baron 1898 9. Aquanura (in the dark) 10. Villa Volta 11. Raveleijn 12. Python 13. Diorama 14. Carnaval Festival 15. Max & Moritz (Spookslot would have placed behind Raveleijn but it has been removed, im excited for its replacement, Danse Macabre, tho!)
The Efteling park is celebrating 70 years existence this year, in march they're opening a new (temporary) pop-up fairytale "Alice in wonderland" , The attraction in your intro with the cookpots and cannibal has had a refurbishment and retheming (from sept till dec the ride was closed for public because of this) it now has Sindbad the Sailor theming (like Carnaval Festival it had some backlash Cannibal would be to stereotypical or something) PS this year there's no opening of a huge new attraction, they already at something nearly each year and normally every 5 yrs they go the extra mile to give the guest "a present" (usually costing millions extra to build) this time corona hit to hard to do this... 😑 BUT, next year there will be a new hotel near that beautiful entrance (hope it doesn't take the awe away from it) increasing occupancy for the resort and the spookslot (44 years old walkthrough haunted castle ) will close this sept to make place for something new (not much info yet but rumor goes an entire new theme area will be build with a spooky theme) due to preparations there's quite some ugly fences but should not hinder your day too much as all rides are accessible After all the dust has settled you can expect the park to expand, meaning more space to build and add yet another themed area, they want to stay one of the best and biggest of Europe of course 😅
Canobie Coaster would say: Joris en de Draak. This dueling Great Coasters International creation is what I wish Hersheypark's Lightning Racer was. Why did you say I wish Lightning Racer was?
my list is: 1. Flying dutchman Theming and the coaster park make it amazing 2. Baron 1898 it has amazing theming but it is too short 3. Python It is just a fun coaster 4. Symbolica, it is the best dark ride in the park 5. Joris en de draak, It is just a bit rough and painful but it is fun 6. Droomvlucht 7. Vogel rok 8. Max en moritz (Replacement of bob) 9. Fata morgana 10. Sprookjesbos
This is my favourite park i have been to! Abselutely indcredible! So charming, unique and atmospheric. I don't agree at all, so here is my list (I have yet to ride the parks train) 1 Vliegende Hollander 2 Symbolica 3 Joris en de Draak 4 Droomvlucht 5 Fatamorgana 6 Aquanora (I expect you didnt got to see that show?) 7 Baron 1898 8 Fairytale Forrest 9 Pirahna 10 Vogelrok *Bob 11 Carneval Festival (While still excellent, and would be the best darkrides, it just doesnt compare to the other darkrides for me at all here) 12 Python 13 Villa Volta 14 Raveleijn (The show was running with limited effects due to Covid, so it could probaly love up a lot) 15 Max & Moritz I also really like both the old carusel and Pagode. But there is only rooom for 15 rides:))
@@mikekaraoke I am from Denmark, you? I visited this year, and I also got to visit Rulantica. That is the best water park i have been to! From now on, I am never gonna visit Europa Park without an evening at Rulantica!!

This park is not for everyone (see Taylor’s unenthusiastic review, for example), but for me it’s easily one of the very best parks on Earth. I so much enjoyed the atmosphere. I spent two days from open to close, and I was still sad to leave.
Its me second favorite park and me home park, but if you're a pure adrenelne junky this park isn't that great. Wich i personamly think is not a bad thing. This park is for staying there for a couple of days and just soak up hte atmosphere. (having said that i woudn't mind 2 good coasters being built there they need some more to spread the crowds a double launched caoster and the new vecoma invert should fit well inside the park).
Alright, I've never seen you put a show in one of these countdowns. I usually never watch shows at theme park (although some enthusiasts frequently do) because I'm there for the rides, expierence, and atmosphere. I usually am only at shows if my younger siblings really really want to be at one and my parents force me to stay there (although recently I have not seen a show at my home park because my mom lets me go off to ride other rides whenever I want on my own as I get older.)
Vogel rok was hilarious as my friend was screaming at me and shouting ‘NO NO I MUST HOLD YOUR HAND’ and fairytale forest was so cute as thee were little houses with cute creatures and the carnival festival was TERRIFYING not to mention the stereotype me and my friend were almost sleeping by the end,and the Flying Dutchman one was cool but disappointing as we hoped to get wet
6 rollercoasters? Are we gonna pretend that Max&Moritz counts? They have a whole merch line based around their rollercoasters and not even that line acknowledges M&M
In all seriousness, I think they excluded it from that merch line because that line focusses on the cool factor of their rollercoasters. Max&Moritz (let’s be honest), lacks that.
I love the dark rides the most and this is how i would rank them: 4: carnaval festival. I find the music to be quite annoying, and there are some racist imaginary here and there. It's also just boring. 3: Symbolica. Even though it's just my number 3 I truly love it. The outside is beautiful and I love that it has 3 diffrent tours. It's very magical and that's my favorite thing about The Efteling. I think what holds it down for me are the little distractions, like the electronic device in the droomvaders (the vehicles). I know a lot of people like the interactive devices but it kinda bothers me. I also don't really like that you're able to see other people, it makes it less private. The music is entrancing. 2: Fata Morgana. This soundtrack SLAPS. I don't know how many scenes it has but it feels like it has way more than either symbolica or carnaval festival. I love every second of it and seeming how old is it im amazed by how well it works. It feels much more mature than other dark rides because it has some really dark elements, which i appreciate. I love the amount of details there are, it really feels like you're traveling trough a city. 1: droomvlucht (dreamflight) It's been my favourite thing in The Efteling since i was a kid. It's magic in it's purest form. It's practically perfect, the visuals, the music, the lighting. I love the ending too. It's the perfect form of escapism and makes me forget about the real world.
Symbolica is easily my top dark ride because of the ride system and large sets, but I agree the ones you put ahead of it have great sets and music as well.
As a dutchie this is one of my proud points of my country
It's fantastic.

The dragon has been stationary for very long, and it will stay that way. It was a very impressive sight, to see it breathing fire, but those days are gone. That’s basically the biggest theming element reduced to a shadow of its former self. The score is solid. The interaction in the station is good. Just sad to see that the dragon is such a maintenance nightmare.)
6. Almost made my top 5.)
5. Wow.)
4. Villa Volta (The story is great, I just wish it’d be told in other languages as well, so that foreigners would understand it better. The Villa is beautifully themed and the music is the absolute best in the entire park. The madhouse effect never gets old.)
3. Baron 1898 (The drop is the most intense ride moment in the park. The rest of the layout is rock solid. Short but sweet. But the theming, music and story. Damn. It’s a complete package. This is probably the most beautiful coaster to see off ride as well. The cogs seemingly pulling up the train, the bell ringing when the train enters the holding break and when the holding break releases the train and the white women singing in the pit down below is great.)
2. Vogelrok (Amazing entrance and decent queue. You can actually see quite a few effects on board. The coaster seems a lot faster than it actually is. The onboard audio and the great sense of speed make this ride incredibly satisfying, I just wish the ride’s story was shown a little better.)
1. Vliegende Hollander (A complete package of a ride. Great plaza, queue, music, theming, story and darkride. Solid coaster and splash to top it all off. It’s also quite scary the first time and the mist scene is the pinnacle of minimalism. This was also my first ever roller coaster.)
(So many hidden gems are not on this list. It is a testament to how great this park is.)
All my visits are recent, so I don't have the same nostalgic factor. That's why I gravitate more towards Symbolica myself.
Love this park!
Me too.
I've seen the Flying Island thing in a Gardaland footage video and was stunned by it. (I had never seen anything like it before up to that point.)
It's very cool. Rainbow MagicLand has one too.
They have a few onsite options today. Not sure back then.
@@CanobieCoaster Wow, a reply all these years after making your video. Thanks :)
Keep up the good work
Love your list of my home-park (we have annual passes for Efteling).
Yes I rode both Bob and its replacement.
More Parks Should Update Their'e Vekoma Or Arrow Loopers With A CSM Re-Track
It Would Help Out A Lot
Great Video! 👍😁
I've never even heard of that.

Interesting!
0:36 fun fact: they chose this system because they are restricted to a height of 25m throughout most of the park. Because Pagode isn’t at height all the time it doesn’t break the limit
Interesting!
Are bobsleds even connected to the track? Also R.I.P Bob.
May I ask, why it was called that?
Bob, simply because os bobsled. It starts with "Bob". If I'm not mistaken. In fact, I think originally its name was Bobsleebaan.
Bob could move freely through the trough like Alpine Bobsled.
Nothing was wrong with Max and Moritz. It's just a powered junior coaster with a fun soundtrack.
3:34 Hey what do you want to ride next
Some guy: Maybe Bob
RIP Bob.
Well Narrated
Thanks!
Villa volta is my fave! Aswell as the fairy one😊
Fun rides!
2:20 way more stuff has been added so it’s now better. Also why didn’t you mention the awesome music that adds a ton to the experience?
It didn't standout enough for me to remember it.
What would you rate Python, Carnaval Festival, Joris en de Draak, and Symbolica?
They're decent to excellent.
The park is gorgeous.
''baron 1898, i was not going to try say that number in dutch'' got me dying 💀💀💀💀 i also love how its the '' ✨most replayed ✨''
I knew I couldn't say it correctly lol
The Vliegende Hollander is my faveroute ride of all time
It's a good one.
I respectfully agree with most of this list
Nice!
My favorites : Max and Moritz, Pirahña, Flying Dutchman ( Vliegende Hollander) Symbolica....
So many fun rides.
I live in the Netherlands and it’s so fun there but I don’t know anymore
I love the park.
@@CanobieCoaster I do remember now, was going to edit my message but then fell asleep lol
So you love science museums, but not a fan of certain history museums!
Ilove it how you tried to say "pagode" your tryin your best to pronounce everything right!
Sorry for anything that's incorrect.
I live like a 30 mins drive from here and i bought a anual pass for the park but i really miss a good intense coaster(btw the park has been closed for the 3th time for covid )
I saw the park was closed due to covid.
Sorry if the height was off.
Those flying island observation rides look super futuristic shame they only exist outside of America
IKR
I love them.
Am going in 3 days! ❤❤
Enjoy!
The splash on the Flying Dutchman was actually designed to keep as much water out of the vehicle as possible.
Makes sense.
I live in Belgium and thats close tho the efteling i really like it except for carnaval festival thats my worst nightmzre
I like that ride.
@@CanobieCoaster i really like the python and the baron they are so cool
Of the coasters at Efteling, was Python your favorite or your least favorite?
Neither
My top 15 (purely based on personal enjoyment, not on objective quality):
1. Fairytale Forest
2. Vogel Rok
3. Joris en de Draak
4. Droomvlucht
5. Symbolica
6. Fata Morgana
7. De Vliegende Hollander
8. Baron 1898
9. Aquanura (in the dark)
10. Villa Volta
11. Raveleijn
12. Python
13. Diorama
14. Carnaval Festival
15. Max & Moritz
(Spookslot would have placed behind Raveleijn but it has been removed, im excited for its replacement, Danse Macabre, tho!)
Definitely a much different list than me, but that just shows how deep this park is for all tastes.
were going there in summer
Enjoy!
The Efteling park is celebrating 70 years existence this year, in march they're opening a new (temporary) pop-up fairytale "Alice in wonderland" ,
The attraction in your intro with the cookpots and cannibal has had a refurbishment and retheming
(from sept till dec the ride was closed for public because of this)
it now has Sindbad the Sailor theming
(like Carnaval Festival it had some backlash Cannibal would be to stereotypical or something)
PS this year there's no opening of a huge new attraction,
they already at something nearly each year and normally every 5 yrs they go the extra mile to give the guest "a present" (usually costing millions extra to build) this time corona hit to hard to do this... 😑
BUT, next year there will be a new hotel near that beautiful entrance (hope it doesn't take the awe away from it) increasing occupancy for the resort
and the spookslot (44 years old walkthrough haunted castle ) will close this sept to make place for something new (not much info yet but rumor goes an entire new theme area will be build with a spooky theme)
due to preparations there's quite some ugly fences but should not hinder your day too much as all rides are accessible
After all the dust has settled you can expect the park to expand, meaning more space to build and add yet another themed area, they want to stay one of the best and biggest of Europe of course 😅
I saw they changed the cannibal spinning ride after my visit. Isn't a new coaster coming soon or is RCDB incorrect?
This looks like a fantastic park with unique and highly themed rides. I hope to go here. Also, I made you a special video for Christmas.
Is it the poop video you mentioned a while back?
@@CanobieCoaster yes. Out on Christmas at noon Eastern.
Canobie Coaster would say:
Joris en de Draak. This dueling Great Coasters International creation is what I wish Hersheypark's Lightning Racer was. Why did you say I wish Lightning Racer was?
Lightning Racer doesn't have as much airtime as Joris.
Never heard of it. Looks fun
It's an amazing theme park.
Where would be Max + Moritz and Danse Macabre be?
Danse Macabre could place highly. I haven't ridden it though. Max and Moritz is ok. A bit mild for my tastes, but cute.
as a dutchie my favourite one is the joris en de draak
A great ride!
Raveleijn or whatever was epic and so was python we went on that about 5 times
Ravelejn was a bit disappointing to me. Fun, but I expected a bit more.
my list is:
1. Flying dutchman Theming and the coaster park make it amazing
2. Baron 1898 it has amazing theming but it is too short
3. Python It is just a fun coaster
4. Symbolica, it is the best dark ride in the park
5. Joris en de draak, It is just a bit rough and painful but it is fun
6. Droomvlucht
7. Vogel rok
8. Max en moritz (Replacement of bob)
9. Fata morgana
10. Sprookjesbos
I found Joris smooth, but I heard it's having some trouble this year.
yes, they are gonna close it now for three months because of it. They will replace some ride pieces and they will repair the animatronic
'I don't want to pronounce 1898 in Dutch'
Me as a dutchie having flashbacks to Theme Park Worldwide: yeah that's for the better.
I knew my limits.
What’s this referencing?
@@WCfanboy Theme Park Worldwide often tries to pronounce Baron 1898 in Dutch and let me tell you it does not sound good.

I don't agree at all, so here is my list (I have yet to ride the parks train)
1 Vliegende Hollander
2 Symbolica
3 Joris en de Draak
4 Droomvlucht
5 Fatamorgana
6 Aquanora (I expect you didnt got to see that show?)
7 Baron 1898
8 Fairytale Forrest
9 Pirahna
10 Vogelrok
*Bob
11 Carneval Festival (While still excellent, and would be the best darkrides, it just doesnt compare to the other darkrides for me at all here)
12 Python
13 Villa Volta
14 Raveleijn (The show was running with limited effects due to Covid, so it could probaly love up a lot)
15 Max & Moritz
I also really like both the old carusel and Pagode. But there is only rooom for 15 rides:))

This park is not for everyone (see Taylor’s unenthusiastic review, for example), but for me it’s easily one of the very best parks on Earth. I so much enjoyed the atmosphere. I spent two days from open to close, and I was still sad to leave.
I love the theming and atmosphere, especially since it carries over to the great rides. This is one of Europe's best parks.
No offense but why did you include a show in a ride countdown?
I was including rides and attractions. Usually I prefer rides to shows, but Raveleijn deserved special recognition.
Will you ever go to Bon Bon Land
When I go back to Denmark, yes.
Hmmmmm yesss Ezeltjeee strekkkjeee!!!!!
The donkey?
Its not that hard you just have to say Baron achtienachtennegentig😉

It is.
Didn’t know much about this park outside of Baron. This park could gives Disney a run for its money!
It's better than Disneyland Paris easily.

2. Baron achttienachtennegentig
3. Joris
4. Piraña
5. Symbolica

@@CanobieCoaster nah man it's okay it was just pretty funny
Vogel rok was hilarious as my friend was screaming at me and shouting ‘NO NO I MUST HOLD YOUR HAND’ and fairytale forest was so cute as thee were little houses with cute creatures and the carnival festival was TERRIFYING not to mention the stereotype me and my friend were almost sleeping by the end,and the Flying Dutchman one was cool but disappointing as we hoped to get wet
I believe Flying Dutchman can adjust the water levels by temperature.
The boats from the flying dutchman are designed to splash the water away from the passengers.
Makes sense given the climate.
Would you like to go again to Efteling?
Yes
I didn't even know they had more than 15 rides
They have quite a few!
The large pirate ship is amazing at the back seat
Those are the one type of ride that make me sick.

Cute, but Vogel Rok has been there since 1998. Long before Angry Birds.
And this bird looks way more realistic.
6 rollercoasters? Are we gonna pretend that Max&Moritz counts? They have a whole merch line based around their rollercoasters and not even that line acknowledges M&M
I'm surprised they don't count it.
In all seriousness, I think they excluded it from that merch line because that line focusses on the cool factor of their rollercoasters. Max&Moritz (let’s be honest), lacks that.

I love the dark rides the most and this is how i would rank them:
4: carnaval festival.
1: droomvlucht (dreamflight)
It's been my favourite thing in The Efteling since i was a kid.
