Very thoughtful of Digikey to send your cat a nice comfy bed.

I don't think I gave you a whole week. More like 4 or 5 days. And you totally rocked it! Great working with you!

I like how you implemented the status indicators, no guessing after it's set adrift!

Random projects born from someone elses ideas are always fun to explore. Great stuff.

Speaking as someone who's used their kitchen counter + an air conditioner as a sawhorse, seeing you throw sparks with your angle grinder on the hardwood floor in the middle of your apartment was the most validating thing ever 😄

Cool project, and good job building it so quickly. That was Chris Hackett, right? I often use the word "obtainium" from his book "The big book of Maker skills"

You could use wled software for the leds, it makes an wifi acces point for remote control or you can connect it to your own network it even supports various remote controls as infrared and the wiz wifi remote.
It has tons of effects, it can make segments and lots of other stuff, it can power ledstrips and matrix panels.
    best of all, its free

Wireless was deemed too risky, we were pretty far from the microcontrollers. Agree wled is very cool tho!

I love how sometimes you say *it can't hurt!" I assure you that most people's failures followed some guy saying "it can't hurt"

If that's an "art piece" in NYC, I have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn too

Love your projects. But resistors should be soldered, not cemented. ;-)
Thank you also for sharing your experiences with the project and your construction. Warm greetings from Switzerland.
