Thank you for the collaboration, we had so much fun being part of it! We hope you enjoyed bending the gift for This Old Tony with the D.I.Wire Pro. Happy Holidays!
I love that Tony has shown what he looks like (a "shootin' the poop" video, I think it was) but anyone not rehearsed in _the deep lore_ would only be familiar with his hands, so that iconography is what's used. XD
I am so glad you were part of the Secret Santa this year, because it meant I found your channel! ⏰ When I saw your waxed canvas tool holder I realized, "Hey! That's something I can do!" I am getting better at sewing and so that is within my reach. I have no training or interest in learning machining like what This Old Tony does, but I do enjoy watching his videos.
Removing rhe contents of the thing, and inserting your own tech is such a nice way of fitting electronics without having to worry too much about practical basics. I use it alot as well. Love the build!
I completely forgot about these things! We used to play with them in the 90’s. I didn’t realize they went much further back. The LED’s are a neat addition.
Becky, you say you're sitting with the cool kids now, but you've been my hero and inspiration for a long time. I have learned so much over the years from the way you explain things. Plus my memories of this toy were instantly brought back by this one. Thank you so much for sharing this with us! 🙂 ⏰
⏰ I came here from viewing all the Makers Secret Santa videos as I normally watch Colin Furze’s videos. I think you’re GREAT! I’m pleased that the RUclips Makers continue the Secret Santa project each year and bring in new and smaller RUclipsrs. It means that I get to enjoy videos and people like you! Happy Christmas!
Oh yeah! Maker Secret Santa! My favorite YT holiday tradition. It's why I started following you originally, so much fun. Was great to see a toy from my childhood here, with a great new spin on it (pun intended). Thanks for sharing!
Love it! I enjoy the mix of nostalgia with neopixels. It also looks like an extra challenge to get it to go on that new shape of track, which is a nice upgrade. Also that tool box is SOOOO nice! Happy Holidays! ❤⏰🎄
THANK YOU SO MUCH! for finally providing me the name of these. I remembered having them as a kid and have never been able to find them again after multiple searches. I'm headed to Amazon now!!
I am so jelly, I remember seeing the first DiWire at the Bay Area Maker Faire many years ago, and kept on trying to get my local TechShops (rip) to get some so I could experiment with them. Your project is perfect to showcase their machines, and the perfect amount of whimsical fun for TOT. Great job, have a wonderful holiday season and I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you create in the future.
I'm super inspired by all the hard work and talent everyone put into these gifts. I've been procrastinating on my own projects WAY too much. So, I appreciate the inspiration.
@@zippythinginvention Becky provided the link to the playlist with all the Secret Santa videos, it doesn't sound like you need to do a lot of searching!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I remember playing with those when I received one for Christmas many many moons ago. I still remember racing my brother to see how fast we could get them to go without the wheel flying off and landing across the room. ⏰
you could do an updated design where the power goes through the wire, allowing the battery(or power input) to be in the stand, that way the wheel part can be lighter, with other possible positives for the weight reduction.
The Secret Santa idea is brilliant! I love all of the builders channels. TOT brought me here (I’ll definitely be here more), and I’m going to check out Jimmy’s channel now. Thank you all for bringing some creativity to you tube. I can only watch so many cat videos.
I waited eagerly for this year's Maker's Secret Santa! You guys always push me a bit towards making my own maker videos :D So thanks for all the inspirations, and happy holidays! ⏰🎄
⏰️ sounding off! As I started with This Old Tony, this video finally brought me full circle. So many great gifts, I loved them all, and can't wait for next year! Good channels too!
Your Tony gift is awesome. Your gift from Jimmy is awesome. I've been subscribed to them both forever. I'm now subscribed to you! Merry Christmas, Becky!
⏰ Enjoy your Secret Santa, I had one of these when I was a kid, great fun. Working my way through all these Santa Maker Vidoes, Colin's is my favourite so far.
I just gave my Wheel-O to my Grandson that My Grandmother gave me in the 1950's. I am surprised the shaft has not worn out. I can remember adjusting it to run faster or slower. One of the many exciting toys I remember from my childhood. jack
I got a version of this back in the '60s as a Christmas present. No LEDs though -- it used a couple of flints to throw out sparks when it was spun fast enough.
Well, that gave me a smile 😁 ...nice to meet you amongst the secret Santa content...look forward to back diving into what you do...big ups to marketing for getting you all together....and I mean that with no disrespect...tis a great thing 😁...Thankyou for sharing 👍
Becky this is awesome. as a few others have said thanks for being part of the secret Santa this year as I have found yours and several other amazing channels all starting with "Furze". on a side note our ham radio guys order a lot of stuff from Digi Key great company to deal with
Ah, the Wheelo! We even got those over here in Australia. Nice work on the extension of the original idea and a great gift for TOT! Nice tool purse also!
⏰Loved the project--somehow hadn't yet subscribed (I have to most of the maker in the secret santa circle), but happy to say that's been remedied and looking forward to catching up on your work and following you going forward.
First time seeing you. Loved your videos. subbed 2 u. Thank you for putting the playlist in your description. Look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Very cool! We made our own DIY wheel-ios when I was a kid, using a commerical center thingie. Can't imagine how much cooler it would have been to have a cnc wire former! Very, very cool! 🕰️
I'm a long time fan of This Old Tony and I saw his video before coming here. Imagine my dissapointment when you weren't actually a cyborg... Or are you? *narrows eyes* I'm kidding (or am I), great job and thanks for introducing me to the DIWire to me... because that's what I need is another home CNC machine.
Nice! I do like that D.I.Wire pro machine. It's awesome that the maker hobby is so big now that there's enough of a market for companies to make tools like that. Well, time to watch Tony's video...
Got here from Tony’s videos but wow cool projects! New subscriber def. Love the Secret Santa thing it exposes more youtube channels for people to view.
Oh this brings back memories ⏰ ... The Wheel-O and the Stanzel Helicopter were my favorite toys. A t-shaped Wheel-o would have blown my mind as a kid. 🙂
That wire bending machine is amazing. I never thought something like that would be available outside of mass manufacturing. I could think of a ton of projects to use that for. I definitely need one.
The one I had as a kid had the batteries in the handle and the power went up the two wires and into the hub of the wheel. there was a centrifugal switch that turned the light on when the wheel was spinning.
That's cool. I dont do emojis, so... [Clock] Someone needs to automate the toy so it continuously travels on its wire without haveing to manually move it.
Well done! Nice all around educational and close up camera footage. As TOT said it did bring me back to the kids toy days, now with my own kids we can enjoy a similar project one day. Thanks for the fun reminders, Might enjoy the tinkercad files and a link to buy a few of the T's?
your wheelo brought me back! and love the tool roll!! thanks Becky and merry Christmas!
Thanks Tony! Merry Christmas!
Love your hands in the maker's list image.
@@avi8r66 They are some great hands! 😂😂
glad to see you could get a peep out of Tony. we miss him a lot, and hope things are fine after things in his family went.. not so well, I suppose.
Fun to see your screwdriver manufacturing and seing the making of the wheelo TOT!
that bending machine is immense! awesome build too
Loved your build, Sam! Happy Xmas!
I didn't realize such a machine existed. Pretty cool.
Thank you for the collaboration, we had so much fun being part of it! We hope you enjoyed bending the gift for This Old Tony with the D.I.Wire Pro. Happy Holidays!
Fab gift! Getting all those parts in such a tiny space is so impressive!

Staying traditional & making a toy for Christmas was pretty slick. Tool box is so practical & well made. Making my way to 'this old Tony' now.

The wheel having weight actually it a positive in this context, helps it to build up speed easier
@@john_michael97 then maybe replace the battery with some weight instead, and still get a better battery life.
