Droid gunship might be so expensive because of the demand from the other kashyyyk sets that were on shelves at the time. Also the build is a way better version than we had ever gotten
Well I Have to disappoint you, you are 100% right. :) How about that I have 2 brand new TIE fighter helmets and I sold them for 70€, back in the day. Still to this day, I have nightmares about that...
Oh Jake!! The Tie-Pilot still bites me to this day!! I’ve been investing in LEGO for about 12 years here in the UK, when this set came out I had to have it, being 50 years old and a massive Star Wars fan. It was priced at £55 RRP and I remember being in a store that had the exclusive on it, where there was 15+ in stock at £35 and I said, “nah, this is too unique to invest in” … I still cry every night!! 😂 Keep up the good work my friend!!
Jake also do t forget anything clone wars clone trooper or separatist the vehicles will be sought after for Mocs or army building scenes ect like the republic tank .
prices on some of the minifigs are crazy ... I just couldn't believe the prices of Ahsoka from the Frigate set or Admiral Thrawn when I checked them after couple of years :D
Oh, wow! We have that AT AP still new in box in our backlog - might end up selling it instead of building it . . . still have an Ewok Village NIB, but we are keeping that one 😉
I got into Lego about 6 years ago, mostly for the Lego military genre. The Tie fighter helmet was my first and only Lego Star Wars kit purchase. I bought it just because I like the Tie fight pilot uniform. I also bought a light kit for it, but the helmet remain sealed. Now, I do not want to open it. 😀
I knew this was a winner back in 2021. It's the reason I traveled out of state to raid every Target I could. The helmet has almost reached $400 on Amazon, just a year ago it was selling for $250. 🚀 🌙
@JakesBricks yes I do, Caleb Raff (brickhutt) had a good bit of advice about selling in thirds (each year/season). It has been working well for my best performing sets especially tie helmet.
FYI, there’s someone on Facebook pretending to be you and scamming people by trying to sell them Lego sets. They have your logo, pictures of you and even a picture of you and your daughter. I thought you should know
Honestly the book of boba fett destroyed the lure and mystique of boba . I’ve been collecting Star Wars since 1978 and the vintage edition items have been on a down turn . Disney imo has ruined many facets of Star Wars
Great review…l have an unopened complete set of the Star Wars helmet set at home and I think it will do well. I think the tie fighter helmet goes so well is because people cannot just buy pieces moc it themselves. Also when people start collecting late need to go back and always the first retired one that drives it up. funny Boba fed was the first release helmet but it didn’t retired first…Even the Storm troopers white one start going up. Crazy…. But I just don’t see it can go any higher.. the price right now u can buy a ucs set.. crazy.
Thanks a lot Jake for these nice Video! Sometimes Crazy Things Happen in a Short Time (Tie Fighter Helmet + Cloud City) and on the other hand ist’s True Thatchers you habe to be Patient (75191,…) All the Best for you and your Young Family🙏🏻🍀😀
I was thinking about building a Tie Fighter Pilot bust from a design on Rebrickable. It requires two of those imperial logo dish pieces for the shoulders. Here in Australia, they were 85 bucks each a few months ago. Can't find them at all now. I'd have to get them from the States. Insane prices. Regarding the price for the set overall. I don't know how hot the market for it truly is… I tried to sell it on Ebay for only AUS$270. No interest. I sold a Darth Vader helmet for AUS$190, and that's not even officially retired yet. And there was way more interest in it.
2:02. The 75188 was sold as low as BND100 here. It's not really that big of a deal in my country. It has been sitting at the centre of the toy section for eyes to see for 5 years and no one wants to buy it. I don't know how he comes up with the idea that it is a good investment to buy and sell this set.
Sorry I had to retype this what I was trying to say is I don’t care what set it is but any major franchise set or category is on the shelf for a year or less will be Gold . Most collectors and investors always anticipate more time to buy and hoard and when they sneak up on you as a retired set and it was only on the shelf for a year it’s going to be a low population as most of the first year sales are those who are opening the set as a gift or a collector who’s putting it on there shelf.Thats the bottom line
What are your thoughts on the 2 sets just released for the 25th anniversary as an investment ? The R2D2 with the Malak mini figure and the Tantive with ARC Trooper.
How are you able to buy so many copies of lego and still able to invest in more lego? How did you even start? Plus that imperial officer is now in the vader chamber set i believe.
It's been pretty good to start but only worth about $1000-$1200 for a $700 just barely a 50% ROI so far, which is actually amazing for a large set like that
@@JakesBricksNahh :) I got 6080 castle which is most of value bought almost 40 years ago but I played with that a LOT so condition is VERY used but still fun to put it together with my own kid now :)

That makes sense! Just crazy to me it has no exclusive figs
@@JakesBricks ikr
I don’t rlly understand it myself
In set 75159 death star, there is one minifig that goes for a high price and that is the grand moff wilhuff tarkin minifig it goes for an avg of $110.
Ahhhh yes thanks!!!
Wish i had started the lego (investment) hobby much sooner, there are some great sets in your list for investing.
I know its insane! But there will be similar sets today that we look back on in 2030 for sure
Honestly i doub it, i mean, of course yes, but in huge less numbers, i am pretty sure to say the golden era ended 2021/2022
Another great upload, glad you don’t over saturate your channel, appreciate all the info and content. 👍🇬🇧👍
Thanks Matt! I wish I could post more but try to give you some gems when I can

That's painful... but I had a similar experience! We will get the next one for sure!
Jake also do t forget anything clone wars clone trooper or separatist the vehicles will be sought after for Mocs or army building scenes ect like the republic tank .
This is a pretty good rule of them tbh!
Sorry Jake, I laughed seeing you trying to get through your frustration on the Droid Gunship. Because BRO SAME. 😂😂😂
HAHAHA right!?!?
prices on some of the minifigs are crazy ... I just couldn't believe the prices of Ahsoka from the Frigate set or Admiral Thrawn when I checked them after couple of years :D
Its nuts!!
How do one know if the item is a major franchise set or it will be on the shelf for a relatively short time?
You don't... there are lists that speculate when a set will discontinue but no one really knows
Oh, wow! We have that AT AP still new in box in our backlog - might end up selling it instead of building it . . . still have an Ewok Village NIB, but we are keeping that one 😉
Sell! And then buy used if you still want it!

IF you want it for your collection then I would sell the new one and buy used

Do you have any left?
@JakesBricks yes I do, Caleb Raff (brickhutt) had a good bit of advice about selling in thirds (each year/season). It has been working well for my best performing sets especially tie helmet.
75159 - it’s Grand Moff Tarkin that’s expensive.
Oh yes totally missed that! Thanks!
We need some new videos!
New one dropping today
Very good job. Maybe make a video about Harry Potter. Looking forward to your top 10 retiring legos of 2024.
Thanks!!!

Shoot I am mad I just saw this. I think we finally got it removed but if you see it please report!
Honestly the book of boba fett destroyed the lure and mystique of boba . I’ve been collecting Star Wars since 1978 and the vintage edition items have been on a down turn . Disney imo has ruined many facets of Star Wars
You may be right but it certainly increased the demand for his minifigure
Awwwww boo hoo, you’re upset about Disney bc of your investments…
Drink every time you here “mind blowing” and you’d be wasted by the end of the video
Bro you would be dead!

Thanks Jake, fantastic homework. I really enjoyed this. Matt from the uk
Thanks Matt!!!
Isn’t the value on #1 because the line is now discontinued and people are trying to complete the run PLUS speculators
This could be true for sure!
Where is Jake we want more videos
Ask and you shall receive
I think I picked up 75175 A-Wing at a Toys'R'Us. It is still in the box because I built up 75003 A-wing.
Nice gem!!! And yes I guess it was at Toys R Us as well not just lego.com

I have the Tie Bomber Helmet

The regular version isn't. But there is a rare version that has an exclusive fit making it worth up to $1000 USD
I love your content dude been a subscriber for like 4-5 years keep it up

Too early to tell tbh. But the 20th anniversary sets did pretty well!

I think it might be a slightly different torso printing... but I may be wrong
Arent the first modular buildings trending for more than the UCS Death Star?
This is true! Some of them are crazy expensive
Absolutely love your vids mate, really informative and entertaining at the same time 👏👏👏🇬🇧
Thanks Hansel!!!
I don’t care if hat set it is but anything that retires within a year and it’s a major franchise item it’s going to do well
sometimes this is true but not always
I think an important lesson for you is to try and hold off for another year with many of these sets😂
I agree! Luckily I used that money to invest in other sets so it worked out but still crazy
UCS Star Destroyer? i think that was a pretty good investment!
It's been pretty good to start but only worth about $1000-$1200 for a $700 just barely a 50% ROI so far, which is actually amazing for a large set like that
All I have is many used 80's-90's LEGO :D
Some of those are worth good money! Do you have a vintage space monorail?

Dont sell the sets fast 🤷
True... But I usually reinvest those dollars so it works out. Just still hurts to look back
