100% agree on the LEGO AT-AT drout. I was thinking about hoarding the set because of it, but the set has an issue: nothing in it is really exclusive. It's a set that is very easy to part out for and build. If there was at least a critical sticker sheet or something, it would help. Obviously mainstream consumers would not go to bricklink or LEGO's site to buy the individual parts (which shouldn't be expensive), but still, exclusive "stuff" helps with investments. Ultimately, I passed on hoarding the set and I would be surprised if this vehicle comes back any time soon. It is the best system scale version of the vehicle that LEGO has ever made. It would have helped if the set has meaningful figs, too.
Here in France, assembly square is still available quite easily but gosh the boxes have been stored for too long and are nearly destroyed... I passed on it in favour of a Bookshop set at discount. Concerning the haunting house, i'm still reluctant as it now at 250€ in most stores but nobody buy it so i don't know. It'll have to wait a long Time to get some return money. And Many low offers on secondary markets
Nice video, I have just started my adventure with the Lego business and I am wondering which first set to buy, I was thinking about Speed Champions but I don't know which set exactly yet.
I would do a lot of research first. Speed champions are good but not as great as they used to be. Start watching more content here and feel free to join the Jake’s Bricks District: district.net/jakesbricks
Thanks for the video. The Blacksmith Shop is an outstanding set. However, one of the limitations is the scale, which is too large to use with other castle sets in a scene.
It’s all about affording to hold for longer (as discussed prior 3-5 yrs min) the quick flip for high yield is a thing of the past, but it will weed out the newbies who can’t afford to hold for that long, only the strong will survive . Good upload as usual and great info from someone with good knowledge and experience in the business.
Like you said in your previous vid, investing changed and you should buy with a juicy discount no matter what, so not at RP. So no investor should pay RP for these sets that are back in stock.
Opinion: In 3-5yrs time no-one is going to remember any of the Disney Star Wars stuff - the stories, characters and ship designs were weak and not atall memorable. Who’s gonna pay for a Rose Tico minifig? IMHO stick to the Original Trilogy sets for investment.
Also younger people that grew up with the new Disney trilogy don't care about a 40yr old movie. Just being honest. I'm a prequel trilogy kid and I will always stand by those as my favorite. It's a generational thing.
Ima be real with ya, I buy these sets thinking they will be worth a lot some day knowing damn well I’m taking these to the grave. Investing in em is just I lie I tell my self so I don’t feel bad for shelling out so much money
@@JakesBricks yeah, I’m genuinely mauling over the idea of buying the Santa Fe from 2002 but it cost as much as an orient express! This hobbie is expensive.
I found out you are allowed to write off your inventory on your taxes before you sell it. I’m pretty sure the state changed it. I am responding to you from your last video. You can write it off for what you spent on it. Not what you will sell it for
I think the Fast and Furious saga is over! It is becoming more of a particularly generation fan base. For example, Star Wars has build fans over the decades, new fans kids growing up continue to mantain the fan base for decades to come… I don’t see this happening with fast and furious. I disagree it is investing piece or collectors piece only for those who love the movies but it will eventually die off.
I liked that X-Wing because of Leia. The AT-AT is pretty awesome. It comes with a lot of great stuff. It’s hands down the best overall. We’re not going to get another AT-AT for a while.
Thanks for the video, loved it! Just wanted your take on how you think the Disney 100 brickheadz will do? Looked on the website (im based in UK) and theyre still in stock eventhough they are a retired product. Thanks!
Totally agree on your build experience with the Mustang, it is also still in my top 3 builds ever. Loved every part of it. I do have 2 of them for investment, if i manage to get msrp back for those then i am happy because i had a decent buy in price.
Hi Jake, I would think with the Star Wars helmet line ending at least for now, the buzz for retired helmets would be less than if the line continues. Would you agree?
bro has no idea that bd1 is more iconic and bd 8 cause the game is soo much better than the sequel trilogy, it will be remembered fondly and it will for sure go up a lot in price cause of that
Congratulations on the expansion of your family and glad to see you back making videos again! You reference several times in this video and others about you having certain sets for your personal collection. Do you have a bunch of these sets built elsewhere in your home and if so, would you ever be willing to share, any pictures of your completed collection?

Hello from France. The Andor set was 80 and not 70 bucks, and i bought some at 60. The Justifier i had two of them at 69. 😅 Luke's Helmet is going to skyrocket since it looks exceptionnal and has exclusive pieces like rebel symbols printed, and it's Luke Skywalker's helmet, i mean come on ! Hp sets are not that worth it except for buildable figures like The Phenix and Hedwige omg ! Hedwige has already doubled here in Europe and the Phenix is sold at 150 euros, which is crazy!
In France we still have money. Hedwige is at 70 in most places but already at 80 on Rakuten for instance. Phoenix is at 135 on Amazon and even 150 or 180 in some places or on some Platforms. True that in Germany prices are starting to go down, which means better deals to buy 😍

Super lame that they already retired the police station, do you think it’ll come back?
Don’t think so…

This is so weird! When I made the video it was $170 and how is $50 higher and sold my Amazon. They trying to be sneaky

I agree. The reason the mando seems so good is cause the sequel trilogy is so bad. 😅
I guess the cost of my investments are gonna drop. Why collect anything if companies are gonna keep bringing them back?
This is always the risk with LEGO

You caught me!
Do you have a video on how go store sealed lego boxes for long term ?
Put them inside Lego cartons, then on a shelf. Many Lego stores have spare cartons.
rdyt0 did give a great suggestion but not all sets come with a LEGO carton. I don’t have a video yet but can make one soon
@JakesBricks are you also a seller on Facebook?
My Jake’s brick fb page has around 98 followers. There is a scam page that has around 1k called LEGO retail store. It is not me. Please report it

what do u do when Lego salvages an exclusive set to Amazon? often those sets will stick around for more than a year.
That would be the razor crest. I think exclusivity usually helps investing but inventory extension could hurt. It’s been hit or miss over the years

Ya I had it on my top 10 list but it’s been on sale for a loooooong time. Might be one of my bigger mistakes I’ve suggested
BD-1 used to give me strong Wall-e vibe back in last Dec, but sadly not so much given the heaps of stock Amazon still has right now.

Absolutely! I will make a separate video of them some day!
Worst part is that Amazon Business accounts can no longer determine how much inventory is actually left. Sigh.
VERY TRUE!
This is all before lego finishes their new usa warehouse to pump even more supply into the market.
I mean they are going to have to cutback bc they had to discount a lot of sets this year. We will see...
