I'd be in for that pot roast! Looks good. I'm not at all religious, but I love your Sabbath day! Sounds like a wonderful day of rest and joy for your family.

I had reflux, indigestion, bloating, stomach pain, nausea that lasted for more than a month after randomly throwing up in the middle of the night. I thought it would never end. Finally I REALLY wanted tomato soup one day, had some and my symptoms subsided. Weird.

I'd like the snacky meal. Less prep and sounds like a very informal meal and family chat time that an extra would not add any stress to. Plus, it would be easier to take an item to add for that meal.

Sorry to hear that you children still have that stomach issue. The food looks really good.

Love that green bean and cheese dinner in the skillet. That would be great if i had just a little bit of chicken left over or even hamburger, too. I'm thinking I could add a little bit of a lot of veggies and meats to get rid of them into this dish too. I love new ways to use up all those little bits of things that aren't enough for another meal. I hate wasting food too. Hope everyone feels better soon. I remember those days when having brothers and sisters and one of us got sick and knowing that at some point, we were all going to come down with it too. No matter who started it! haha

Just a thought: keep a food diary of everything you eat, every day, and that way you may be able to pinpoint what foods are upsetting your stomach.

My mom made something similar to the green bean dish but used tomato instead of dairy and the mashed tatoes were pit on top with cheddar cheese melted on top. I do the same thing with my meatlof with tatoes and cheese on top

Applesider vinegar is really good for low acid stomachs. I have the same problems and I can sometimes feel my tummy trying to cope with the food. Eating less at the time and ofte helps, more protein and I’ve found that lingonberry helps too. I also have glutein intolerance so that is a nice bonus.

I'd love too have the snacky meal. Lol. I just can't eat pork and would bring the beef or turkey substitutes. I'd love for you and your family sit at my table though.

I love your snacky meal, but I would love to sit down and enjoy your best friend casserole. My husband and son would not like it. I am going to cut it in half and make a couple of portions that I can freeze. Then I can enjoy it as well.
I am going to try your apple cider vinegar trick. I am sure I have low acid because they took part of my stomach away. I always have an upset tummy afterwards unless we eat tomato products, sauerkraut or something in that sense.

When I only had access to a mw oven and a 99¢ Only store, I’d buy veggies, shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, and pasta sauce. Would layer zucchini, another small squash, and frozen mixed veggies with sauce and cheese. Mw’d my concoction in a Pyrex pie plate. Yum. Held together nicely with the gooey cheese. Sort of like lasagna without the noodles. Easy, cheap, and very presentable. Satisfying, despite absence of protein.
Baked potatoes, mw’d (regular and sweet), can be another cheap, delicious meal. I enjoy mw’d sweet potatoes for lunch with butter and Parmesan cheese. Nothing more. They’re hard to make crispy, unlike starchy white potatoes, so I don’t try.
Lots can be done with beans. Maybe next time….

also question we just got chicks that are 2-3 weeks old. Can you give them food scraps now? I have heard not to give citrus, onions and tomatoes? I have not googles this or anything just what I have been told. I wanted to ask if apple cores are good to give to them or not as my son eat and apple almost everyday.

I would probably wait till they are a little older to introduce "table foods". But we give ours grass and weeds from about 3 to 4 weeks old or so.

Maybe your family is good with broccoli, cauliflower and veggies like that but I have stomach trouble every time I fix it. I love it but I don’t digest them well.
