Wziąłem ten model i na test byłem strasznie rozczarowany. Szarpal jakbym zmieniał biegi w motocyklu bez quickshiftera. Najgorsze było jak manewrowalem w korku i zrzucał biegi szarpiąc jak się przeciskalem między samochodami
I tried it today and if your not a frustrated racer its good

Jechałem dokładnie tą samą testówką i mam bardzo podobne wrażenia względem całego automatu BMW(z DCT Hondy jeździłem Africą i CrossTourerem). . I też z całej jazdy zapamiętałem najlepiej możliwość kastrowania wydechu jednym przyciskiem, co jest czymś niesamowitym. Sam czekam na nowego RT, który stety czy niestety ma mieć automat zdaje się z marszu. Wszystkiego dobrego
Thanks for a very honest review, I watched all the reviews from a lot of youtubers saying the 1300 GS was the best bike they had ridden and now how great the new auto transmission was. When I went to test ride a manual 1300 GS I was very disappointed as I was expecting alot from the bike but I was disappointed with the wind protection and the seat was uncomfortable after 2hrs and the gearbox was awful. The handling and power were great and the suspension soaked up the bad road surface with ease but overall not what I was expecting. Your reviews are the most honest and helpful I have come across, so thank you Sir.
Dude, exact same for me. Test rode the 1300 GS and it was not very good. I wanted to love but it made my 2022 Ducati MTS V2S seem light years ahead of it on all counts.
Thanks for this review. Well, on one hand I'm surprised of your conclusion (I would not have thought that they introduce such an imperfect system), on the other I am not :) Why is that? Because the ASA practically is an automatically operated manual gearbox with a quickshifter. And from my experience most quickshifters I tried didn't work well at all. Yes, there were some scenarios when the shifts were good (esp. in higher gears with certain revs and certain loads etc.) but in most cases the shifts were rough and loud. The best QS I tried up until now was on a Triumph Tiger 900 Rally. But even that one didn't satisfy me to the fullest. On my Suzuki V-Strom 800 I used the QS only from 4th gear upwards an only on upshifts because otherwise it sucked. But in most reviews done by professional motorcycle media they praised the WS of the V-Strom 800 at the highest levels. I don't understand why. OK, I understand that they have partnerships with certain manufacturers and they would not want to say it sucks, but please don't praise it at least!
When Honda first released DCT it was worse that a broken tractor. Honda has had years to polish it, so let’s see if KTM and Yamaha will be the same as BMW or as good as Honda
...but if it were a Honda, no suspension issues, no reliability issues...it would work like a Swiss watch as long as the rider doesn't get tired of it. The BMW sun is setting fast.
Riding a 2024 manual 1300 GS with adaptive ride height. I got the exact same suspension issue / error last weekend. But when I restarted it the next time it just went away and also the adaptive function was working fine. Did BMW give you any explanation as to how they sorted this or what may have been the reason? Thank you.
I feel like his issue is with the assisted shift that was on all the older non ASA models also. For example my 1250 GSA shifts hard between 1-2 and 2-3 and after that its smooth as butter and down shifts are smooth as well. So I feel like thats the issue here not so much the ASA part. Maybe Im wrong though. I say that not in defense to BMW but more so the opposite, since this has already been an issue and they havent fixed it in years.
On this case, the dct is way superior, and I do have a r1300gs! My own bike is really rough on the gears, unless you are in the 3k/4k sweet spot, and putting the motorcycle in first will make a harley rider proud, with a big clunk!. Is easy to understand it will be way rougher, since I can reproduce the effect on my own bike, basically the asa is doing what you will be doing with your foot.
Yes, technically it's a different system. But the purpose of the system is the same. And in the end one (the DCT) works just fine and the other is rough.
BMW need to stop listening to dentists and corporate CEOs. Real riders are screaming for a shaft driven 850 boxer devoid of electronic garbage, preferably with a kick start. Enough of this nonsense technology for the sake of technology. #PureBikersLivesMatter!
I got my 1300GS ASA yesterday, it is working brilliant, the D mode should be used in Dynamic then it is perfect. Manual shifting is like a dream❤

This is my new bike now (after the R1200GS), I appreciate the new ASA from BMW and make easier my decision to change. And I really like it!
Hope to hear your thoghts on the Honda e-clutch at some point. Nice video, as always. Cheers.

you should try Yamaha's 3rd gen QS on the CP3. works flawlessly.
you should give the suzuki gsx s1000 a try. That thing can even up shift on throttle down. Best one I ever tried (not that I've tried that many :) )
Very interesting, thank you. There is something to think about.
Excellent review. Just started watching your videos and now subscribed. Well done.

An avid 1250 GS rider here... my next move (in the sprint) will be to check out KTM, Triumph, and Honda.

Wouldn't put money into one personally, no matter what transmission. For me, the 1250 is superior in most areas for the riding I do.

Now I’m curious what KTM did with their automated system.
£23000 the shaft drive should be serviceable not a consumable at the owners expense.
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 Was the biker that crashed OK ??
The ACC ??!!? - why don't u mention THIS THING ???
Why comparing with africa twin. It’s a hole other system

@@76olahpeterDCT is proven and reliable. Il be keeping my 1200x DCT crosstourer. It’s superb.DCT is rapid and quicker than any quick shifter.
Yes, in fact it is way better, just get used to it, it is working perfectly
I also just test rode it and was disappointed as well. Very bad automatic and transmission in general 👎
OMG 11:06 accident on the left
pomyslec, ze automaty BWM (auta) sa rewelacyjne a nie potrafia tego zrobic w motorze... ;-0
