Mikaela Shiffrin Giant Slalom Gold (WCS Courchevel/Méribel 2023)

On February 16, 2023, Mikaela Shiffrin won the world title in giant slalom for the first time in her career. Previously she had two silvers and a bronze. It was her 7th career World Championship gold medals to tie the modern day record with Anja Pärson (SWE), Marielle Goitschel (FRA), and Toni Sailer (AUT). It was also her 13th World Championship medal of any color, which passes Kjetil André Aamodt for the most medals every won at the World Championships in the modern era.
