Thanks for the rundown, as always! I was there in Indy and I didn't realize half of that stuff was happening! Thanks for making this sport so much more accessible.
Good way to start my morning. Not too upset with the race results, happy for BMW's first win (and 1-2), and I do wish the 96 and 64 could have done a little better, but I am still psyched that we've got a Mustang on the 2nd step twice in a row now. Petit will be a good one, and hopefully we can get a Ford win or both cars on the podium. Thank you for another good video Stu! (Love you, Harry Tincknell and Mike Rockenfeller😂)
GTP battles were great, LMP2.5 was kinda a letdown, and GTDam didn't get shown much, but I'm happy Wright got a win. They've seemed fast and they have a great looking car (which is where 70% of the performance comes from)
I really enjoyed the part where we got about 8 laps under FCY for a car that only stalled temporarily. Hopefully, IMSA will take some lessons from WEC for next season.
the race was really enjoyable! a lot of surprises, great racing and pit work... and all of this in different conditions too! i'm also very happy for BMW and Lamborghini, with the success in this race for both manufacturers, they will very likely stay invested in their LMDh programs the BMW is one of my favorites in terms of sound and look (i drive the car a lot in AMS2), they also got great driver lineups for both cars and they really deserve this 1-2 finish while i'm not a hardcore Lambo fan, it would be a shame to lose this unique car, so them finding the necessary pace to compete for race wins is really cool to see and i hope they stay in IMSA for the long-term (especially since IMSA got so many different races, great competition and the WEC is getting complacent with their stupid new rules rn and probably self-imploding again in a few year's time, heard it here first) AO Racing coming in clutch was another highlight and although LMP2 was a bit of a mess (even for their standards) and they couldn't stop spinning shortly after the restarts, i wouldn't want them to be missing in the race i hope the race stays a six hour race for next year(?), although i would hold it a bit later in the day to finish in the sunset hours maybe, that'd be so cool ^^ thank you for the rundown as always, i highly appreciate your videos :)
Hey! Lots of good points here! Next year the race will still be 6 hours and while I think there is a large group of people that agree with you and want to see the race end in the evening but I just don't know that the track is well suited to it. Hopefully we'll see it but I wouldn't be holding my breath haha
Yeah, I still hate the track layout, but the racing was nuts, and being at the track it really felt like it was a sprint race length. Very happy for BMW getting a win!
Yeah, I loved it. It's not the old ALMS days at Petit, but it was great fun. We were on our phones a lot to try to keep track of all the strategy calls it was hard to know who's in the lead. And, I did show up a few times on your watch party too... lol.
@@Eagleracer38x At least you had good enough service to be able to check on things, it can be very difficult to keep up at some of the more rural tracks haha
@@macw9482 64 has been on it in tue past 2 races. Hope the 65 can break their string of bad luck. Met Joey Hand at RA, and he was a great guy, so I hope he fan find a podium or win soon!
Pretty chaotic but enjoyable. AO racings pitstop and seeing rexy just slide into the lead was just epic. The post race penalty system needs some serious revision work because it ain't a good look for the sport. The 7 is basically guaranteed the title which im fine with as a 963 fan and the fact that they've made the biggest improvement from last year. The SC63 seems to be coming alive. Too bad that fool in the mustang had to ruin its run. Overall. Not too bad of a race.
Terrible track. Its far too short for that many cars. Only reason anyone thinks it was "exciting" was because it rained and because the track isn't suitable for large multiclass fields which cuased carnage not great racing.
No surprise on Porsche and Acura getting screwed, GM always buys the series they race in. Rexy going from last to first is ridiculous, IMSA is a crooked series, sad BS.
What did you think of this years Battle on the Bricks?
I gotta give it to you. You nailed the BMW prediction!
I believe the saying is a broken clock is right twice a day 🤣

My pleasure Jimmy, happy to play a small role in introducing more fans to the sport!

Yeah lots of good stories coming out of this one, next round out at Petit could be Ford's turn 👀
A good looking car is worth at least a couple of tenths a lap which really adds up in an endurance race!!!

Excellent review - looking forward to your 2024 Petit preview. Heading down next week! Thanks Jamey.
Thanks!! I'll be there the whole week so if you see me say hi!

Yeah the chaotic first half of the race really set us a fantastic second half of racing! Hope you had a good time at the track!

They are getting better and better every race, they look like they'll be serious contenders at Petit!

I think that image of Rexy sliding sideways out of the pitbox to barely snag the lead on the pit road is going to live in my head for a while!
@@offintheesses the amount of control need for that was just *chefs kiss* perfect
Too many cars for the size of the track.
Classic BMW drivers am I right? Always have to be in first
