That MX5 hit was wicked! Also, the video of the acura limping back after clipping the Mustang, you can see the blue "G" light illuminated on the side of the cockpit. This light comes on if the car experiences a certain G loading, and means a mandatory trip to medical for the driver. So that was clearly a decent impact!
Almost shed tears when Renger brought it home Saturday. Net some of the CGR crew along with RVZ and Bourdais at Road America and I was so proud to see them win by 3 seconds on their last race together. Cant wait to see how Caddie does with WTR in 25. Cheers to another great season in the books!🎉
Awesome track, Awesome fans and Awesome Race! Glad you had a good race to support for your first time there. I've been going there since mid 70's starting with the AAGT (All American Group Touring) series. Always fun times a Road Atlanta, great track for motorcycles too.
@@WyldStallion-bs9oo I agree with you about the Safety car issue, but racing product in IMSA was still better, much closer racing and closer championships overall. And don't disrespect LMP2 like that, they have some of the most fun racing at times
This season followed up and succeeded last year. The nerve racking moments made 2024 a great season and as you mentioned, IMSA is on the rise. Happy to see Porsche winning with the 963 and in a few weeks, Penske has the chance to sweep the top category of imsa and WEC this year. Gotta say, Petit Le Mans this year was miles better than last year's caution show and a better season finale. The race ranking tier list video is certainly going to reflect that
Been a lot of pain for GM in 2024. Nice to see a moment of snatching victory from the jaws of defeat instead of vice versa. Look forward to WTR Cadillac and AXR along with Jota in WEC in 2025.
So close that wreck with Ricky Taylor being much worse injury wise. That wreck in race #2 of the Mazda MX-5 Cup was really bad. and the driver was obvious shook up.
This was my year following IMSA and first time watching Petit, and I was not disappointed. It was a bummer seeing the #40 struggle, but seeing Scott Dixon get a W in a Cadillac was super cool. I already can't wait until next year.
3 words to describe the weekend: WHAT A RACE!!! As G. Jeannette said “I lost 10 years out of sweat” 😂😂 my goodness, last hour was intense. Also, we should make Daniel Serra a national hero for defending that P2 lol
I think your numbers are off for the GTD Pro final standings. It shows Hear of Racing with more points than AO. Great recap though. This was my first time at an IMSA race, and it was fantastic! Will definitely be back next year!
@@definitely_not_nick41 I'm not sure exactly but there are about 5 or 6 different ferrari mods to choose from. ( Fred @ thunderflash mods for ams) they're all free and if you're familiar with AC's content manager, Ams2 has a even easier to use content manager. Yea if you haven't played AMS2 in while, it's a totally new game now. If you're a multi-player online racing guy, AMS2 has not totally figured that out yet.
I was pretty disappointed to see both Porsches relinquish the lead late in the race, but the way Renger van der Zande drove in that pitch-black darkness was just fascinating! He really deserved that win. At least Porsche finished the championship 1-2 and Rexy also won the GTD Pro, so there's something to be happy about, after all. Can't wait for the Rolex 24 2025 and welcome the Aston Martin Valkyrie! Hopefully Porsche pick up where we left off!
@@Querientje I heard a lot of people around me thinking that he should have been black flagged. But I suppose IMSA chose not to do so because the controversy would have been far too great.
The crash of the #4 Corvette helped the cause of the #77. Had it not been crashed the #4 could've finished ahead of the #77 and perhaps the points would've been enough for the #23 to get the championship.
Whoops I may have missed that, the file I usually work off of wasn’t working properly while I was on the road and had to do it manually. I may have just messed that one up!
@@offintheesses fair enough, I thought you mistyped it from being tired of something. I panicked and thought heart of racing actually won for a sec. Pretty sad it was 4 points but it is what it is at the end of the day. Great coverage
Something I’ve Seen no one mention. Coming down the backstretch, the 06 car had lots of break glow, the 01 didn’t. Earlier the 01 did. The 01 was saving its breaks for that one maxim effort needed for the pass into turn 1. Thoughts?
How was the winning car allowed to continue with intermittently faulty lights in the dark. Don't think the Penske car even saw it coming for the final pass.....
It had one headlight on when RVDZ made the pass. It really only started to turn on and off, but mostly on, when he was way in the lead. It was an issue but not big enough for a mechanical black flag.
@@cadillacsuperior ah, I was only able to see the highlights. I do seem to remember that one of the commentators mention that maybe the reason he didn't see him coming up so fast was that one headlight was out....🤔 If so, it's difficult to judge distance if there is only one light.
We were looking for you to say hi! Love your coverage! The lights going out at the last minutes gave us all heart attacks!!!
I’ll hopefully be back next year maybe I’ll catch you then! Yeah we were sitting in T10 for the end it was wild!

This IMSA season was an absolute blast to watch and the Mazda cup finals has on the edge of my seat the whole race

Its wild how good ang hype imsa is right now. So glad to be a fan and here to witnesses it!
Some decent finishes from KPM and Turner! Also let’s freaking Go for Tyler Hoffman on his first win in GSX in just his second start!
So excited for more! Thanks

A miracle we went that long with no safety car. But still just that one safety car can wipe out all of the gaps.
Man I wish I found you at petit lemans😞 I found Jann Mardenborough
IMSA was by far the best series to watch this year, I can't wait until January 😭
the best!
WEC was certainly better in 2024. Far less issues with safety cars. And its much better without LMP2 cars wasting space and TV time.

8 hours race but the winner decided by last hour... The interesting and sometimes "devastating" things regarding the endurance race....😂😂
S/O Lone Star Racing for getting pole, team HQ is 10 mins down the road from me 🤘

Feared that Chip had found another way to lose in the last few minutes when the 01 headlight decided to do their own thing. Wink wink you all.
