I was considering it this year until I found out that the two races that the subscription doesn't cover: Le Mans and COTA. Which is a NA thing and Canada doesn't get Max (and Discovery Velocity is something of a mess without cable).
As an Australian, my first IMSA race I watched was last years Daytona 24hr and got dad to watch Longbeach and now we watch every race and has become our favourite series to watch, love the racing and the amount of different manufacturers in the classes. I do think there should be more split class races myself. But it should be GTP/GTD Pro or GTP/GTD Am. Seems to work for the street races but CTMP would be good for it as well. Laguna Seca should have split Pro and GT races that go back to back like the way IMSA did it in the 1980s and 90s. Petit Le Mans should be GTP and GTD Pro only for sure.
Mustang Struggled in the firsr few rounds, but really figured it out after VIR. Race win lost at WGI, and Indy. Unfortunate mechanical troubles slowed them down at Petit LeMans. The Mustang is a good car and scored 3rd in class at Le Mans.
Corvette definitely struggled in some aspects this year, but a lot of what I saw was being at the wrong place at the wrong time or just outright being crashed out by other teams. Definitely a mix of reasons for the lack luster season. But with everything that happened to them this year I think they did relatively well
Big brights spot for them was CTMP and the dominant weekend they had there. Lots of positives for them as the season went on and I think they will be a threat for the championship much like many of the cars have been in their sophomore season!
New gtd cars don’t struggle mechanically for pace… they haven’t figured out how to play the bop game yet. You can expect all cars that struggled last year to be rocketships the beginning of this year. You can also expect a strong consistent performance from from Lexus… as they have typically the most refined and essentially the same package from year to year.
@@justinkids2082 Pros and cons for sure, as the sport grows in interest it means more invested manufacturers (generally). The sport is very unlikely to grow to the level of F1 but IMO there's still plenty of capacity to grow before negative effects creep in!
The 963 program is gonna be hard to beat. Cadillac is moving to a new team, which will cause growing pains, the same thing for acura. I think BMW has a chance, but RLL will be there downfall. Te resources just aren't there. Lamborghini and aston are just kind there lol
I think the 31 will still be a big threat with Cadillac and you can never rule out Tom Blomquist at Daytona, he jumped in the 31 last year and was super quick! Porsche has the upper hand to start but I think we'll see WTR and MSR get up to speed very quickly!
I think that Acura might be better of, at least on paper. They have been working with Meyer Shank for years, so outside of the new drivers, the team knows what to expect from Honda Racing Corp and the ARX-06. BMW is a complete wild card in all of this, same with RLL and their difficulties. That said RLL and WRT have been talking, so... I don't know what to expect out of Lambo this year given that the relationship with Iron-Lynx has pretty much completely dissolved. It leaves the GTP program up in the air. Aston... It is a learning year. That is the best that I can expect out of Heart of Racing, despite their record.
Any race that is NOT going to be won by Penske or Shank cars will be cause for celebration! That is my rooting interest for sure. Anybody but those two teams is what I am cheering for.
Which GTP team do you think has the best driver lineup for next season? Personally, I think it's a toss up between Penske and MSR as both have very strong parings
I think I 'd give a very slight edge to Penske as their 2 lineups are proven and familiar with the car. MSR will be super strong with both of their entries too and we definitely know that the WTR lineups are strong. Action Express are always kicking around too, it's so tough to rank them because they're all so good!
Hoping Turner can clench '25, along with Ford/Multimatic making moves. Hoping that WTR can bring Caddie out of the 2024 funk, I need that 5.5l V8 to syart winning again for me to feel good about mine😂
If it was BOP then how come the privateer 963's didn't have a great season? Penske did an incredible job unlocking the pace in that car and had one of the most consistent seasons in recent memory. It wasn't purely because of BOP
The one thing IMSA needs to improve, which may be more of a Peacock issue. We dont want commercials every 10 minutes. WEC has NONSTOP coverage!

@ they also did well at the glen but got very unlucky with fuel at the end. Super disappointed at that since I was there for that one

In GT, really think Corvette could be the 2024 Porsche. They really came to the front in the late part of 2024 in both IMSA and WEC.

Porsche has only dominating with the BoP! They will feel next year the VW Crisis
If it was BOP then how come the privateer 963's didn't have a great season? Penske did an incredible job unlocking the pace in that car and had one of the most consistent seasons in recent memory. It wasn't purely because of BOP
