George is right. Those hits by the Steelers show the Steelers were just as dirty as Raiders. Maybe even Dirtier. Look at that hit on Ken anderson and cliff branch.
Maybe that's just human nature that a player would be cautious if a defensive player is running up on him while he's concentrating on catching the ball. Those same defensive players would be doing the same thing if the ball was thrown to them and they were trying to concentrate on catching the ball but they can see a defensive player about to hit him. It's easy to talk about that when you're the one giving the hit and not taking the hit.
I hate the Raiders and that won't change...along with their fan base. However, these two members of the secondary were gods that played the game to win and hurt. In short, the way we kids in the 70's grew up playing football.
It's weird they glorify Butkus, Bednarek, LT, Lambert and Deacon Jones and many others but Jack Tatum get's ostracized for the style of play they played. If the excuse is the Stingley hit people need to go back and look at the play because it was not some vicious act it was a normal play that happens all the time in football but it was at a unfortunate angle that could possibly happen any time in football. Jack Tatum HOF NO DOUBT.
I just had to let him know that's the way it's going to be today
all 3 hours long.
SOUL PATROL!
Stabler said the Jack Tatum was the only rookie that never got hazed.
The Raiders and John Madden were absolutely amazing. The only thing better is when they gave John Madden the telestrater when he retired
Jack and George were no more dirty than anyone else. They personified "The Silver & Black Mystique." The players were men, not spoiled millionaires.
This is a good one. Nice work. Terrific footage.
Two of the greatest defenders of all times Tatum &Actions Just Win Baby.
Grown man football era.
On their off-field interviews, Atkinson and Tatum look like Ice Cube and Snoop.
Sorry son they make ice cream and and snooze look soft 🤡
Two of greatest def😢in football.
Pittsburgh and Oakland were both dirty
Treat a bully like a bully.
& the Raiders did that to the Steelers. Nobody else would against Pittsburgh, the Bengals & Oilers didn't.

Hayes, Haynes, McKelroy? The No Passing Zone
@@generationless6942 as long as they’re Raiders, don’t forget the group before that Owens Davis Hayes Osteen 💯🏆🏆🏆

These two would NEVER be able to get away with what they did then.
Hey was that Kat Williams in raider gear saying world champs at the end?
Villapiano still has such mean intent when reliving those plays. He'd be hella dangerous in a father son game still
TATUM........''COLLISION INCLINED''
I love Them why I love playing safety !!
These two were dirty players….they should have been given what they put out….fair is fair.

Do the same to Branch, Biletnikof, and Casper, and any other receiver they have.
2 of the dirtiest players in NFL history
2 of the best, fixed it for you.
Spoken like a true Wuss
Spoken like a coward this is when real men played
During the time, it was allowed some of their hits...today..fined and/or suspended for life
Mel Blount body slammed Cliff Branch and he's not dirty?!

Atkinson was a jerk for punching Francis in the face. Today, Atkinson can’t tie his own shoes or remember why he walked into a room.
