  • Had my old Webley Alecto .22 Cal pistol out today for a bit of a shoot, and to compare it to my HW45 Silver Star, also in .22 Cal.
Target was 10 Metres, free-standing, one handed with the same pellet used with the HW45, the JSB Express 14.35 grain. Didn't go as well as I thought, struggling with a bad arm and the strong gusting winds. The wind being so strong around me that it was pushing the Alecto (and me😂) sideways, not something I had to deal with when shooting the Silver Star. Weight wise the Alecto was 1078 Grams ( 2 Lb 6 oz ) and the HW45 1191 Grams ( 2 Lb 10 oz ) but the Silver Star felt much better balanced, has much better fibre-optic sights and a better adjustable trigger. Still, though the Alecto is accurate, as the grip rested target shows, the springer HW45 just seems easier to hold on target, and once you achieve that consistent grip, much more fun to shoot. In my opinion every air pistol shooter should own an HW45 version. The Alecto is good, but the Silver Star is better, both for sense of achievement, and good looks.

Hi mate bit of a daft question but if that pistol was in a vice and you had a target 30yards away what do you think it could be capable of grouping Thanks.
