Thanks for sharing all of your insightful information, I really appreciate what you are doing and sharing with everyone in the world. Including me…Make it a great day.
This video has inspired me to have my own smoker built (very similar to this one) by a friend who is a brick mason and another friend who is a carpenter. I hope to have a small video for RUclips when it is finished. We are about 50% done right now. It ain't a cheap undertaking either!
I like it allot. one concern is the smokestack being vertical above the food is creosote drops back down onto the food. just a small concern but great build.
Very legitimate concern. I was afraid it might be an issue. I bought an additional escutcheon ring for the chimney, only one size smaller and put clips on it to hold it just under the chimney. I had a heavy smoke going for a whole day, and surprisingly no drips, and no dripping to date. I did hang a cute little 2" cast iron pot on the end of the smoke pipe, to catch the fairly consistent drips. I'm as concerned about staining that cap stone, as I am about tainting the food. Thanks for watching the video, and taking the time to comment.
The handle was from an old fire sprinkler system, the stack and damper were from a local wood stove retailer. thanks so much for taking interest in my video
flemmygun... - Nice jobs a medium size wood, hot or could smoke Smoker House. - Love the valve on the chimney. Now....how many hrs you think you can get from the Could Smoker Generator ? Can you tell un the dimensions of Smoke Cylinder Generator ? Thank you for your time ....keep smoking !!!! Ricky Nazario Virginia Beach,Virginia.
That is a fine looking build - as a matter of fact its lovely! My buddy built a similar set up and burnt his smokehouse down on the first attempt at smoking lol. Every degree of heat, smoke, soot and embers you generate below is going to enter your wooden build on top. I know I didn't have to tell you that so now to the real question: Have you smoked any meat and how was it????? Again - very nice build!
Haven't stopped using it. Bacon Bacon Bacon. All manner of beef and pork. Lots of venison. We cured and smoked our own Prosciutto and Pastrami, Cheeses, salt, garlic etc etc etc.. Looking forward to making Lox. Doing lots (mostly) cold smoking. and hot smoking under 250 degrees. So far so good. No problems at all with heat or scorching. Loving apple and pecan. Not a fan of hickory or mesquite, but I may be doing it wrong. I find that subtle smoke is much better. Im new to smoking. No creosote problems yet. I love sticking my head in it and taking a whiff. Its amazing how differently all the woods burn. Thanks for watching and commenting. Feel free to give me tips..
That's an awesome good report. Hickory (to me) has the strongest smoked flavour of all woods, but it may be that I just always over smoke when I use hickory. I dunno, but I tend to agree with you. I have to get on the ball with my new smoke house. Your killing me with all that bacon your smoking lol. I'm glad that puppy is working good for you. I still say it looks like a million bucks! Happy smoking and watch your triglycerides lol
Wow Excellent work! Do you feel unsafe while using the hot chamber? I mean are you concern about burning your smoke chamber due to spark from the hotbox. I'm building some thing like that...almost same Idea and I'm concern to ignite everything!
Hey! Good smoker! What is the name of that song in the video? It does sound like a Pat Metheny Group song from the seventies; but, I don't recall hearing it before.
didn't really use specific dimensions. made it up as I went along. the size of the brick and blocks is what determined the overall dimensions. Thank you for watching and commenting.
there are variants of it online, I basically did what all the others did and tweaked it to work for me. this one actually burns without the pump and venturi. Thanks for taking an interest
Well the pork belly was sorta repurposed, it used to be an integral part of a pig, and now it's someone's dinner.😂 Great looking build though, very interested to build one of my own...
I looked online at similar ideas, and engineered my own as best as i could. Basically copy what you see. Google search " cold smoke generators " there are some advertisements for commercial units out there, that are so detailed. Its like an instruction manual.
Maybe the fella who built it should make the video.....all you need is metal a friend with welding equipment...another with metal fabricating tools....a friend who lays brick and wha la.....a smoker...hardly????? Did u install the thermometer or did your buddy di that too? Brag about what you...yourself did
Excellent finish, extremely professional look all around. Im sure the value of your home went up! Thanks for posting....

Hello flemmygun can you give us any dimensions for a build of this. I'm sure we would all gladly pay for them. Great smoker flemmygun
