@@yelladude6969 Not quite true. Indy gave the guard the rope and tried to pull him out using his weight 3:19 but the guard was bigger and heavier which killed him
Pat Roach who played that guard was by trade a professional wrestler as well as actor. I'll always remember him as Bomber in Auf Wiedersehen Pet. 3:13 noticed Indy was trying to save him as he was saying in Hindi
@@VictorPerez-hg2ed had he not got killed but out of his trance if I was the writer I would have make him join forces with Indy to go up against Mola Ram and his henchmen
It’s gonna sound cheesy as all hell but from a metaphorical perspective for me, the voodoo jabs are like my depression and the thuggie chief is like my life dealing with autism. Shortround taking out the voodoo knife is like when my son was born. Again metaphorically and cheesy but that’s one way I use the scene to get through some dark shit.
Indy was giving this guy the business for the majority of the fight when he wasn't getting voodoo doll tortured. The Nazi mechanic on the other hand, completely dominated him other than the 4 hit desperation combo he finally landed at the end.
@@andycash9143 Bro, I don't understand why they delected all the scenes which showed that the bad guys were just under control. Only Mola Ram and Chattar Lal were assh*les.
@@tnmgamingch.1935 exactly. Pat Roach was awesome actor. Watched him in Auf Wiedersehen Pet as Bomber back in 80s. And you might or not know he was a wrestler
The very fact that Harrison Ford is fighting a professional wrestler is very awesome! Francis Patrick Roach boxed as an amateur before becoming professional as a protege of Jack Solomons. He began his professional wrestling career under the name of "Judo" Pat Roach. After his acting career had begun, he continued to wrestle under the name of "Bomber" Pat Roach, having previously been billed as "Big" Pat Roach before receiving affectionate cheering from the audience. Trained by Alf Kent, his first official wrestling match was against George Selko in 1960. Roach held both the British and European heavyweight championships at one time.
I think the big thuggee guard was under the black sleep since after the boulder fell on his head he came to his senses too little too late. Mola ram seemed to put people he deemed assets to the thugee under the spell such as Indy and the maharaja instead of killing them so he may have deemed that man’s huge stature and strength a great asset.
Pat Roach (1937-2004) appeared in the three Indiana Jones films. In Raiders, he played two characters, they are Giant Sherpa and German Mechanic. In Temple of Doom, he played the Chief Guard (his voice was dubbed by Frank Oz). And in Last Crusade, he played a Gestapo agent.
Pat Roach was a professional wrestler by trade. Here in UK he was also in this comedy drama called Auf Wiedersehen Pet where he played the part of Bomber

I've seen many times this scene of Indiana Jones and temple of doom and every time it makes come the thrills, but I have an opinion about it. Although it is just a movie, also here it gives a message very important and why a lot of violence so hard and so much hate like all everything, God always makes the total of tribute and he let pays an high price for all those villains like in the movies too. We have always to think very intensive about it. 🎥🎥🎥🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️🎬🎬🎬🙄🙄🙄😑😑😑😑

He fared way better against this guy vs the Nazi mechanic in Raiders.
He was being "handicapped" 😂

I’m still giving the whole voodoo doll a big WTF. There was never a scene that showed it being created.

The Big Chief Temple guard would have made a great opponent for the Undertaker
0:40 Heavy Mr Jones " ? " Let's try again
0:13 katar dagger?
Hero is lean
I like how he was fighting him then he tried to help the guy because he doesn't wish that on anyone to be crushed by that
Really? I always interpreted that scene as him using the man to pull himself up the chains.
@@yelladude6969 Not quite true. Indy gave the guard the rope and tried to pull him out using his weight 3:19 but the guard was bigger and heavier which killed him
@@yelladude6969 you interpreted it wrong. You clearly see Indy trying to help the guy when his the fabric is caught and then again with the rope
maybe that guy was under some sort of trance like indy prior and after the rock hit maybe it broke the trance
Exactly. Indy is so pure at heart.
I had no idea the Giant Sherpa, The German Mechanic, The Chief Guard and Gestapo were all played by Pat Roach. It’s like he’s a master of disguises.
Guess he really liked fighting Harrison Ford.
@@metaknight4230he fought also Sean Connery and Liam Neeson
The same guy?!?!? I never noticed that.
Fun fact the Thuggee Indiana Jones is fighting also played as the big German boxer in the wing plane fight on Raiders.
Both of them have the most brutal deaths of a non main villain in the series too!
He had a role in Last Crusade as well but his fight was cut.
Obviously.
My favorite part has to be the parallel at 2:51 where Indy and short round are punching the 2 villains it just gives me chills every time
One of the best fights in Indiana Jones
Agree on this movie. On the first one the plane fight scene.
@Anton Anton yes it was :)

I knew what the big Hindustani thuggee was saying I know urdu
Can you write phonetically how to say that in Hindi?
Best fight in the series. Everything had impact, and the slams look painful (unlike the ballet landings in modern action films).

This fight feels like the German Mechanic getting his revenge on Jones from the previous movie.
Wasn't until recently I realised it's the same guy

Yeah, bro. But Temple of Doom's fight was way more violent 😨
