      It's not Netflix's fault in this case. David Fincher just said he doesn't feel like making a new season. I'm sure that eventually he will want to again. For all intents and purposes, we haven't gotten season 3 because Fincher took a break from it.

    Zodiac is by far my favorite film. Although I do undertand the criticism against it, I think having no closure adds to the overall themes of the film, it adds to that notion throughout the film kf obsession. All of the characters in the film are obsessed with Zodiac, and where did it lead them? Having no closure just makes the film not only more realistic, but it inherently humanized all of the horrific events shown in the film.

The characters all look depressed & low energy . The music is just plain . The focus is purely on words Such clarity , such depth , such continuity such great learnings about the criminal mind & at large about the human mind . Sometimes you tire because of the monotony but the learnings compel you to move forward . Thank you internet . Thank you Netflix . Thank you all the people that believe in intelligent cinema

    Watching this show, listening to these discussions, being a child development major I’ve never questioned the perpetrators understanding of right and wrong. I’m pretty sure they understand what they are doing is wrong. I see the problem as more of an impulse control issue. In all these interviews i hear the same key terms of gratification, satisfying impulses. Why can’t they control their impulses? I think every human on the planet can safely say they have wanted to hurt someone but they can control that desire. Why can’t these people control that impulse the way others can?

      Threshold Pictures Benjamin Button and Social Network are the same genre as Gone Girl, or The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo?

    • @m0zric
      @m0zric 5 лет назад +1

      Threshold Pictures I wouldn’t call Benjamin Buttons or Social Network thrillers; they’re both drama-flicks. Benjamin Buttons has more in common with Forrest Gump than Fight Club, for instance.

      There are 15 top directors. 1_SKubrick 2_Hitchcock the rest go up and down. I love Fincher but I don't know if one can tell he is better than MScorsese. We should rate great directors according to their capacity to achieve excellence in different genres.

    I just finished watching both seasons (yeah, I do realize that I’m way late to this particular party), and I thought that the series was incredibly well-done…it had me hooked from the very first episode.
    IMO, the writing was stellar, as was the casting - not only with the actors who played the members of the BSU team, but also with the fantastic actors who portrayed the real infamous killers; Damon Herriman as Manson (who, BTW, also portrayed Manson in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood”), Oliver Cooper as David Berkowitz, Jack Erdie as Richard Speck, Christopher Livingston as Wayne Williams, Happy Anderson as Jerry Brudos, etc., were all so perfectly cast, giving absolutely outstanding performances…
    Oh…and Cameron Britton as Ed Kemper? Holy cow! If you’ve ever seen interviews with the real Ed Kemper, you’d have to agree that Britton’s portrayal of him was so spot-on, being both brilliant and chilling (and if Britton didn’t win an Emmy for it, or at the very least be nominated for one, he damned-well should have!)
    Each episode was done very well in terms of historical accuracy, too - not only providing a glimpse into the dark, twisted minds of very real serial and mass killers, but also in its fascinating look into the origins of The FBI’s Behavioral Sciences Unit in its fledgling years.
    As a side note, even the music/songs chosen deserve a big thumbs up, too, as they were 100% accurate to the time frame of each episode, and remaining so as the years passed in the series, and that’s rare, as directors often take broad liberties with the music used in period pieces.
    My only regret about watching the Mindhunter series, is finding out that the end of season two was it, that there wouldn’t be any more seasons!
    I mean, dayyummm!
    You can’t hook me into a series like that and then just end it! 😖

    This may be an unpopular opinion, but I would much rather have Finher do series instead of movies. Its exaclty the medium that allows him to put all of his creativity with time and patience, laying out the character in such a way I honestly didnt really feel in Benjamin Button or even Zodiac. This show was an incredible binge and he was so right about Groff, the really gives this honesty necessary to sell the character , like he is on our side. Holt is my favorite character in the show, his moral compass connects deep into my heart, a real honest, kind, good man. I really miss Anna Torv in this conversations, she was crucial to how the show unravelled and he did her character with exceptional care. As a woman, who felt particularly distress with the content on the show, her professionalism made me see the show in a different light. Almost like and academic study, just like in her vision. Long story short, i need 5 seasons as it was promised. Dont care if they pick it up years later. This is nop noch production.

    I wonder if Finchers bedroom is as minimalist & partly run down as most of the rooms he uses in his films. Live his trademark directing style & cinematography. So unique & cool. Dark, with yellow!/blue hues. His & Michael Manns styles are the coolest around.
