It's not Netflix's fault in this case. David Fincher just said he doesn't feel like making a new season. I'm sure that eventually he will want to again. For all intents and purposes, we haven't gotten season 3 because Fincher took a break from it.
I'm here for Groff's voice. It's kinda weird seeing him in Holden Ford mode during interviews lol. He's usually so bubbly and cheeky, maybe he's nervous in front of his idol (Fincher) xD
I saw an interview with him from a few months ago where he was talking about how amazing it is that after ~30 years of constant auditioning and schlepping for any role he could find, after Mindhunter for the first time in his career he no longer has to audition - people are finally writing roles with him in mind and sending his agent scripts all the time.
Fincher changed TV (Netflix) with House of Cards and Mindhunter. Some of the best episodic content I've ever watched. And despite what people say about Zodiac, it's one of my favorite movies.
I've never heard Zodiac spoken ill of honestly. It's a great movie.

It´s amazing how every time Fincher opens his mouth, people stop and listen to him. Love this show, finished Season 2 yesterday and it´s even better than the first.
How could this show NOT receive a third season?! It’s one of the most brilliant shows ever! Original, bold, dark, intense, intelligent. Incredible writing. Inspired, nuanced, dare i say perfect performances by the whole cast but especially the great Jonathan Groff and Holt MacNalley and all the actors playing in the seeial killers. And of course the mad genius David Fincher at his best
Apparently the viewing numbers weren't feasible enough for the cost that was going into the show. But this statement is from a few years ago when Netflix initially cancelled its renewal. Recently, could be thanks to the following it's grown, Fincher said They might get around to it sometime soon, given everyone's dates start lining up.
I love Fincher at the end talking about Zodiac and thinking it was too long with no closure. It just shows how humble he is and how much he cares that he puts out a good piece that's quality. Can't say that about a lot of the directors in Hollywood these days.
This interviewer is like "Oh, you are in a television show that is about criminals, so that makes you experts on criminal psychology, so I will ask your important opinions on this very real, terrible tragedy that happened; in this promotional interview of ours."
On México there was a TV program named "LA REINA DEL SUR, THE QUEEN OF SOUTH" And the actress KATE DEL CASTILLO actually believes she was THE QUEEN, with a very erratic behavior......Is very refreshing to see and enjoy the AMAZING PERFORMANCE AND DIRECTING without That confussion about the characters, They are WONDERFULL artists not FBI profilers..... I want the 3rd season so Bad!!!
Fincher is genius - for me he defined the 90’s and now is making Tv masterpiece. There is something about him, pure talent indeed. Love his work and dedication.
God this is why I love film..the way David Fincher depicts conversation and understands the importance of it is just incredible and so informative when watching a story unfold.
Holt is an amazing actor. It's hard to believe he was struggling to get an important role. He's perfect for this role. A guy with great social skills, down to earth and a great team player. He would have been perfect as Baito in a non-crappy adaptation of Ghost In The Shell.
Holt McCallany was in fight club. Does anybody remember ? He was one of Tyler Durdens army members! (ROBERT PAULSON) Great to see him work with Fincher again !
CRISTIAN GONZALEZ yes very much agree, it’s so fascinating to watch. I feel like David Fincher is a person that often makes people react this way bc of his charisma.
David Fincher plus John Douglas’ life is a recipe for an amazing story. One of my favourite movies is Manhunter and to see this Netflix series about Douglas is a dream come true. I read the book on BTK written by Douglas and to see it acted on screen is wonderful. Thank you from all of us who love these detective stories. For me it is not about the killers, it is about the detectives trying to solve a diabolical puzzle.
David Fincher looks up whenever he's thinking, that is a sign of an individual who thinks in images in a very high level which also indicates very high intelligence
Zodiac is by far my favorite film. Although I do undertand the criticism against it, I think having no closure adds to the overall themes of the film, it adds to that notion throughout the film kf obsession. All of the characters in the film are obsessed with Zodiac, and where did it lead them? Having no closure just makes the film not only more realistic, but it inherently humanized all of the horrific events shown in the film.
These two are so deep in their roles and knowledgeable about it and their background of it to create a realistic scene, that I feel they could go in to a real scenario and be good criminal profilers. Really glad Fincher took his time with this series and these actors, and I anticipate more to come.
Seeing Mindhunter is one of the reasons to live ! What a huge risk David Fincher has taken . He has made this very words oriented . The visuals are dull green. The characters all look depressed & low energy . The music is just plain . Thank you all the people that believe in intelligent cinema I usually read the book after the movie I read Mindhunter by John Douglas who is like a combo of Bill & Holden - the REAL FBI Founder of the Behavioural Science Unit What a treat !
Wife and I watched together and almost gave up. The first few episodes had some stilted and forced dialog. We're both glad we didn't give up on it. Turned out to be one of our favorite series.
Thanks for the upload. Fincher has definitedly brought out some great moments involving serial killers to the big screen. Se7en, Zodiac , Dragon tattoo and now Mind hunter, can't wait to see the upcoming season.
yeah i like Charlie Rose but fuck, that intro question was bullshit. They are there to talk about their show and he makes them answer questions they have no expert opinion on. Just cringeworthy. If i was Fincher or those actors, i would be fuming. Thank god he went forward and the rest of the interview was good.
Watching this show, listening to these discussions, being a child development major I’ve never questioned the perpetrators understanding of right and wrong. I’m pretty sure they understand what they are doing is wrong. I see the problem as more of an impulse control issue. In all these interviews i hear the same key terms of gratification, satisfying impulses. Why can’t they control their impulses? I think every human on the planet can safely say they have wanted to hurt someone but they can control that desire. Why can’t these people control that impulse the way others can?
I would have rather watched a roundtable interview in which Jonathan, Holt, and Fincher just talked about the show amongst themselves. I get the impression someone else came up with Charlie Rose’s questions, and I am skeptical that he even watched the show.
Unfortunately I agree. It is a lot to expect Rose to watch 20 hours of television for a 40 minute interview. If he did this with all of his guests he would probably have no time for himself. But it is definitely necessary for a good interview.
Zodiac is a certified classic. The case is frustrating, the movie naturally exhibits that to. The ending still works though. Its a completely satisfying experience so long as you know its coming.
Like so many of you, I can listen to Fincher endlessly. Also as they talk it becomes painfully clear that Fincher and Groff's intelligence levels are way beyond the other two.
This dude has a serious problem with letting people finish their thoughts without interjecting. For God Sake let your guest speak! Mindhunter is one of the best shows created.
I just finished watching both seasons (yeah, I do realize that I’m way late to this particular party), and I thought that the series was incredibly well-done…it had me hooked from the very first episode. IMO, the writing was stellar, as was the casting - not only with the actors who played the members of the BSU team, but also with the fantastic actors who portrayed the real infamous killers; Damon Herriman as Manson (who, BTW, also portrayed Manson in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood”), Oliver Cooper as David Berkowitz, Jack Erdie as Richard Speck, Christopher Livingston as Wayne Williams, Happy Anderson as Jerry Brudos, etc., were all so perfectly cast, giving absolutely outstanding performances… Oh…and Cameron Britton as Ed Kemper? Holy cow! If you’ve ever seen interviews with the real Ed Kemper, you’d have to agree that Britton’s portrayal of him was so spot-on, being both brilliant and chilling (and if Britton didn’t win an Emmy for it, or at the very least be nominated for one, he damned-well should have!) Each episode was done very well in terms of historical accuracy, too - not only providing a glimpse into the dark, twisted minds of very real serial and mass killers, but also in its fascinating look into the origins of The FBI’s Behavioral Sciences Unit in its fledgling years. As a side note, even the music/songs chosen deserve a big thumbs up, too, as they were 100% accurate to the time frame of each episode, and remaining so as the years passed in the series, and that’s rare, as directors often take broad liberties with the music used in period pieces. My only regret about watching the Mindhunter series, is finding out that the end of season two was it, that there wouldn’t be any more seasons! I mean, dayyummm! You can’t hook me into a series like that and then just end it! 😖
The amount of people i know who were shocked to know that’s it’s Jonathan Groff who playing Holden ford in Mindhunter is insane lol the character is sooo different than him in real life lol jon groff is Ray of sunshine irl way too different than Holden ford lol
Threshold Pictures I wouldn’t call Benjamin Buttons or Social Network thrillers; they’re both drama-flicks. Benjamin Buttons has more in common with Forrest Gump than Fight Club, for instance.
There are 15 top directors. 1_SKubrick 2_Hitchcock the rest go up and down. I love Fincher but I don't know if one can tell he is better than MScorsese. We should rate great directors according to their capacity to achieve excellence in different genres.
Stefan Thorndahl QT is went from the masterpiece of Pulpfiction,to the trash of his last outing OUTIH ,is so bad that u can literally see lack of directon lack of script to the point of madness...😡
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I would much rather have Finher do series instead of movies. Its exaclty the medium that allows him to put all of his creativity with time and patience, laying out the character in such a way I honestly didnt really feel in Benjamin Button or even Zodiac. This show was an incredible binge and he was so right about Groff, the really gives this honesty necessary to sell the character , like he is on our side. Holt is my favorite character in the show, his moral compass connects deep into my heart, a real honest, kind, good man. I really miss Anna Torv in this conversations, she was crucial to how the show unravelled and he did her character with exceptional care. As a woman, who felt particularly distress with the content on the show, her professionalism made me see the show in a different light. Almost like and academic study, just like in her vision. Long story short, i need 5 seasons as it was promised. Dont care if they pick it up years later. This is nop noch production.
lets be honest.mr fincher looks like the perfect combination of the killers in the serie...he tortures our minds, hurts our souls, entertain our eyes and still we love him.great man
Holy delivers regular lines as if he’s speaking an Emmy award winning line..dude knows how to articulate and capture attention from just his voice alone.
I wonder if Finchers bedroom is as minimalist & partly run down as most of the rooms he uses in his films. Live his trademark directing style & cinematography. So unique & cool. Dark, with yellow!/blue hues. His & Michael Manns styles are the coolest around.
As someone who's life has in too many ways been a mirror of Mindhunter, I have to say that whether intentionally or otherwise, it captures so many elements of the reality of a life of the type these characters live its frightening...Mindhunter is a masterpiece!

The best show Netflix ever produced. It's so sad it's not going into more seasons. That the BIG problem with Netflix shows
I agree ! THIS WAS, MASTERFUL!
Unless it’s a rip off and directed toward teenagers of course.
Apparently Fincher is more optimistic about doing season 3 than he was before Mank was released

Holt was born for this role, he literally is Bill Tench.
Allegedly he tried to meet with the real Son of Sam, who goes by the name "Son of Hope" now. Berkowitz declined.
I loved that they gave him more screen time
@@barfymann362 According to Holt himself even

David is a genius. How he manages to make us excited in a series about serial killers, with little to no violence at all, still surprises me
That´s actually so true
Love how Fincher was always keeping Holt in mind for roles and finally found one he could offer him. So sweet, Holt is great in the show too.

Long story short, i need 5 seasons as it was promised. Dont care if they pick it up years later. This is nop noch production.
After just watching season 1 ... I'd agree with that!! And I do love all his movies
Good lord that was a short interview
lets be honest.mr fincher looks like the perfect combination of the killers in the serie...he tortures our minds, hurts our souls, entertain our eyes and still we love him.great man
Holy delivers regular lines as if he’s speaking an Emmy award winning line..dude knows how to articulate and capture attention from just his voice alone.
Tench is awesome
Rose has had his day. Retire.
Give us season 3 please!!!!
Zodiac is my favourite Fincher film
I wonder if Finchers bedroom is as minimalist & partly run down as most of the rooms he uses in his films. Live his trademark directing style & cinematography. So unique & cool. Dark, with yellow!/blue hues. His & Michael Manns styles are the coolest around.
Why does this look like its from 2004??
David is the best director in the last 30 years. He must do the movie about The East Area Rapist.
profile on Charlie Rose's narcissism please.... wanna slap him!
Don't worry David, I loved Zodiac
Love seeing Holt! Been a fan since Alien 3.
As someone who's life has in too many ways been a mirror of Mindhunter, I have to say that whether intentionally or otherwise, it captures so many elements of the reality of a life of the type these characters live its frightening...Mindhunter is a masterpiece!
Holden becoming a serial killer is not fare fetch
I fucking love this show.mindhunter is kick ass show.I can wait for Friday.
zodiac is my favourite fincher film by far lmao
Is Charlie Rose still doing interviews? Whats he been up to?
No. They fired him. He was accused of sexual harrasment
Was he ever doing interviews? He’s never been good at them.
