Bamon on the other hand, they're more enemies to lovers than Delena (Delena were never enemies to lovers anyways. They'd never hated each other for more than two episodes.) and Ian was way more expressive with Kat than with Nina. For example, their reunion hugs, which was most likely the cause of Ian being bitter about Nina but Bamon was way better. Bonnie and Damon had ACTUAL tension, like in season 1.
They were everything. No matter how hard the hateful writers tried to force a platonic relationship on us with that desperate and obvious dialogue...these two just radiated with enough chemistry, deep staring and body language. They were the real deal.

And there is no Plague to be racist against gingers ( or black people ) in the books so she is neither the Deus Ex Machina that we use as a plot devices nor the Goatscape of her writer(s)…a lot of TV Bonnie’s potential has been destroyed by Plague as we already know ! In the books Bonnie’s Magic takes influences from Irish Folklore and Druidism cause that’s her heritage in the books ! I feel that not exploring the cultural aspect of Bonnie in the tv show is one big missed opportunities, but then Plague is a Racist so maybe it’s for the better they did not anchor Bonnie’s magic in any African-American magical , pegan, folkloric tradition (and Appalachian magic and folklore ! ) But it’s still a missed opportunity, they could have done so much ! And that is just the magical aspect, let’s not even start with the down playing of African-American history in a heavily colonial town and the difficulties that one only Black teenager from the only Black family in a little town in the middle of Virginia would actually look like … she could have been so much more ! Also she deserved her soulmate, but Darth Plecis is obviously a die heart Delena fan , so she took the opportunity to write her on Fanfiction on TV ! Well actually Plec is self-insert and Damon fan if we really want to be accurate , cause her Elena is not exactly the Elena of the books either…anyway read the books if you feel like it ! They are quite different from the TV show !
He repeatedly chose her over Elena who was the supposed love of his life. Also, with Elena he was still a pretty terrible selfish person and while, yes, he made some dumb choices with Bonnie too, he still tried to be a better person for her

Bonnie is one of the coolest characters to have ever existed, if they gave a proper relationship with anyone, let alone Damon (they even killed Enzo), the fan base would 100% be more invested in her story than Elenas, and they couldn't have that happening, same with how Karoline wouldve blown the rest of the relationships out the water, couldn't have side characters over shadowing the main characters, I love Delena but anyone can see, how there is more potential here, there is such a wholesome love that exists between them, it's impossible not to ship them

Yup, Kat said when she first met Ian she didn't like him so it was kind of like Damon and Bonnie energy from the jump lol. I'm glad they grew closer though, and that Ian was willing to put his job on the line for Kat when they tried to kill off her character. Their chemistry really was the highlight of the show for me.

The love he had with Bonnie platonic or not (however you want to think about it) was about growth and protection NOT obssession. Damon desrerved better than elena.
Yeah and Damon and Elena both confessed to each other that their relationship was toxic and that they were bad for each other. I think the problem was Elena was trying to change Damon and Damon was possessive over Elena. I think Damon was afraid of Elena leaving him, so that's why he felt possessive.

There have been rumors for years that Julie and Caroline Dries didn't like Kat and took it out on Bonnie's character. Julie actually attempted to completely write Bonnie off the show, like straight up kill her off in a way where she wouldn't be able to come back, pretty early on in TVD (like within the first three seasons or so), but Ian threatened to quit if Julie did that. He had to advocate for Kat and say, "if she goes, I go," or else we wouldn't have had Bonnie the entire show run, which is insane to think about because 85% of the problems everyone else got into Bonnie bailed them out of. There have also been rumors that Matt Davis (Alaric) bullied/harrassed Kat over her being Jewish, which I think is true, considering how mask-off Matt has gone in the last couple of years. Kat has admitted that she did face discrimination on set but that she wasn't going to address it/"expose" anybody because causing drama wasn't worth it and that she just wanted to move on from it now that the show was over, which is understandable. Also, it might break your heart to know that Ian and Kat actually advocated for Bamon to happen in season 6, but were turned down on multiple occasions 😔we almost had it.

Yea the writer (Julie plec) of the show is known to be racist. She tried to kick off Kat graham (Bonnie) numerous of times, but Ian (Damien) said he would leave the show if she was kicked off. The actors were open to the relationship, but anytime it was mentioned in interviews Julie would immediately shut it down. It came out that Kat did face a lot of racism working on the series too from her co-workers besides a couple that stood beside her.
In the books, the original author (before she was removed) was planning on making Bonnie and Damon end game. That was always her plan. But Julie Plec sucks and is a racist so we got this instead. Makes me super upset.

I almost cried. The love he had for Bonnie felt more natural and seamlessly than Elaine. I’m glad the writers did keep it strictly and friendship but I wouldn’t have been made either if it had been more. Bonnie bought out a different side in Damon and more character development personally I feel.
Everyone wanted them to be romantic, but I really appreciate an extremely close platonic relationship, they're rare, especially in a series where everyone is falling in love with a new person every 5 seconds
Crazy as hell that the writers refused to let them happen when we all felt thier connection. Hell, in the damn books they became the leads. Stefan and Elena together and stronger than ever, go off on their own and the rest of the books are about Damon and Bonnie. They become the main love story and are the End Game couple of the books. Ian & Kat had Sooo much chemistry and Thier characters were so dynamic together! They were telling an amazing story and could have really sold a serious and beautiful romance. Bamon is literally one of the greatest romances that never happened.

If I’m going to be completely honest, Bonnie was a really good person for Damon. And Damon provided a source of protection over Bonnie and so much more that strengthened their relationship. It would’ve been really awesome and satisfying if they were to end up together rather than Damon and Elena. I think I love their relationship more because it was based off of true friendship. You could see how much they truly loved one another and that was so beautiful.

Julie Plec really had to go and fuck up this show. Honestly after season 3, the show and writing made almost no sense. I would have LOVED to see Damon explore his human side with Bonnie because they had that natural chemistry. But no instead we get a toxic ass relationship with Elena and Damon.
Also I commend Kat Graham for being so strong throughout the show despite the racist shit behind the scenes. What happened to her and her natural hair was unacceptable.

According to my observation of the series "The Vampire Diaries", I noticed some chemistry between the characters of Damon and Bonnie. Majority of films and TV shows I watched have the same thing, but I feel like only TVD went into debts of showing how your best friend's boyfriend can also be your best friend and can also be there for you, which is something I haven't seen in many movies and TV shows no matter the genre. I like how they have their little moments too. Wish more films and shows had this kind of thing.

But she could've at least did something for the real fans at especially since she knew the real actors for Damon and Elena hated each other. It's why they started killing off Nina Dobrev's characters because she wanted to leave. But Julie Plec kept forcing Delena even when the actors wanted it to end. Which is kinda disturbing when other shows would understand and find a reasonable way to dissolve the relationship in a believable way. She had plenty of chances and still didn't. Especially when it's been said that Kat Graham was the only one keeping Ian from walking off set multiple times. It kinda makes sense to put those two together. The whole stuck in the time loop would have been a great time to start their relationship if not before.

There have been rumors for years that Julie and Caroline Dries didn't like Kat and took it out on Bonnie's character. Julie actually attempted to completely write Bonnie off the show, like straight up kill her off in a way where she wouldn't be able to come back, pretty early on in TVD (like within the first three seasons or so), but Ian threatened to quit if Julie did that. He had to advocate for Kat and say, "if she goes, I go," or else we wouldn't have had Bonnie the entire show run, which is insane to think about because 85% of the problems everyone else got into Bonnie bailed them out of. There have also been rumors that Matt Davis (Alaric) bullied/harrassed Kat over her being Jewish, which I think is true, considering how mask-off Matt has gone in the last couple of years. Kat has admitted that she did face discrimination on set but that she wasn't going to address it/"expose" anybody because causing drama wasn't worth it and that she just wanted to move on from it now that the show was over, which is understandable.
Also, it might break your heart to know that Ian and Kat actually advocated for Bamon to happen in season 6, but were turned down on multiple occasions 😔we almost had it.

Yea the writer (Julie plec) of the show is known to be racist. She tried to kick off Kat graham (Bonnie) numerous of times, but Ian (Damien) said he would leave the show if she was kicked off. The actors were open to the relationship, but anytime it was mentioned in interviews Julie would immediately shut it down. It came out that Kat did face a lot of racism working on the series too from her co-workers besides a couple that stood beside her.
In the books, the original author (before she was removed) was planning on making Bonnie and Damon end game. That was always her plan. But Julie Plec sucks and is a racist so we got this instead. Makes me super upset.

Putting everything everyone in the comments said aside (which I agree with), I like how they made the two of them into characters that are friends with each other even tho Damon has a girlfriend. Majority of films and TV shows I watched have the same thing, but I feel like only TVD went into debts of showing how your best friend's boyfriend can also be your best friend and can also be there for you, which is something I haven't seen in many movies and TV shows no matter the genre. I like how they have their little moments too. Wish more films and shows had this kind of thing.
