How to express a contradiction in German: 'Obwohl' and 'Trotzdem' and what's the difference.

The words 'trotzdem' and 'obwohl' can be used for the same thing:

I think you are thoroughly off with putting trotzdem at the beginning of any sentence, as in 8:54. You meant to have a comma before trotzdem, instead of the period, right? You better check that.

@@CabinFever52 Like mentioned in the video you can have trotzdem in the beginning of a sentence as long as you have context in the sentence before. But yes, with a comma it is more common.

In English I would probably use dennoch. At first guessed it meant 'yet' I was close, I'd would use the official translation of 'nonetheless'.
