4-5 hours battery life is not middling, for a 14 inch business laptop, its terrible. Get the AMD variant of this laptop, the gpu on AMD variant is only %5 slower than dedicated RTX that is in this one. Not only that the AMD cpu is %25 more powerful while consuming half the power. It will give you better thermals and more than double battery life. There is absolutely 0 reason to get intel version whatsoever.

any chance u can review the p14s gen 5 . it seems to be based off a new china model - the t14p and is a much better chassis (only the intel. the amd gen 5 chassis is still plastic)

    Great video/review!
I just got the P14s Gen 4 AMD model a couple of weeks ago when Lenovo had the CTO at 67% off (plus my employer discount). Got it loaded via CTO with AMD Ryzen Pro 7, Radeon IG (I am not a gamer), 64GB RAM, performance 2TB (SK Hynix) SSD, OLED Display (Samsung) and builtin LTE/WWAN for $1190 USD. It's been a solid machine, runs cooler and quieter than any Intel ThinkPad I've owned/tried.
The one thing I was unsure of was the materials of the chassis. The machine feels solid with a nice texture that doesn't attract fingerprints, but I thought the entire chassis was made of PPS or various plastic types (for the black model) and not metals as mentioned in the video? The bottom cover doesn't show AL or MG or CF, so I am assuming that Lenovo just used a variety of plastics. Is this not the case?
    Thanks!

    • @TechGuyBeau
      @TechGuyBeau  9 месяцев назад

You can customize the bottom in many cases, aluminum or PBT. They sent me a metal one.

@@iSowelu I`m not sure if to take the AMD (as i hear they`re running cooler) or the Intel model. I have the Thinkvision P40w-20 display and would use it also with this. I have checked the PSREF and AMD one supports maximum Monitor resolution 3840x2160 and Intel same on HDMI, but on thunderbolt 7680x4320@60Hz.

I love these P and T series Lenovo Thinkpads. You can get a 16" with 32gb and 1tb Gen4 nvme for under $1500 CAD, which is insane. 16" Macbook pro would be close to $3000, Dell way above $2000 . For professionals, these have all connectivity you need. Battery life can be "extended" if you go with a Ryzen 5 or 7 on the 7000 series instead of Intel.

@TheQuangBang M3 is better for single core performance, video editing, and battery life.
ThinkPad is better for running Powershell, C# programming, and SolidWorks computer aided design (CAD) for engineers. Additional benefit is that you can upgrade the RAM & SSD.

I have a question that is not related to the video. do u think MSI Vector GP68HX 13VH (the 1440p and 240hz screen) is better or Legion 7 pro (AMD version) both running the 4080?
Amd comparing the 2 in terms of which is the better machine in optimization and better performance and quality.
    appreciate ur thoughts on this.

I prefer the cooling acoustic and chassis design of the legion more. The msi does have good cooling but I’m not as into the design.
The gaming performance should be similar.

    Dear Lenovo, please send TGB a P14s G4 AMD and a P16s G2 AMD - both with 64GB, 2TB and OLED - for a review. 😊
Jokes aside: I'm currently looking into buying a P14s (21K5000JGE) or P16s (21K90000GE). Not sure which one to choose: 14" for better portability or 16" for more screen size and maybe better battery life with 86Wh. Use case: Programming, VMs, Data Analytics. Both mentioned configurations have no dedicated graphics adapter, which I appreciate, because I don't need it.
Would love to hear your opinion especially regarding the portability of the P16s. ☺️

I haven’t tested the p16s but the chassis size should mimic the e16 (although more premium). I never found it to be too bulky to carry around
I prefer 16” relatively thin laptops as a perfect size. But they can be a little large for some people
