    Thanks! Great review 👌
    Would love to see a comparision between T14s Gen 4 and X13 Gen 4. Configuration seems much the same, but would love to hear your thoughts on size difference, build quality, heating, fan noise, speakers.

    Great review, thank you! I actually watched this a couple times, and finally just ordered an X13 for myself. I decided to go with the 2.8k display option, but also got the 54.7Wh battery, so hopefully the larger battery helps offset the 2.8K display's higher power consumption. This is going to replace my ThinkPad X230 that I bought 12 years ago back in 2012, which is still going strong with no issues (other than getting a little slow/long in the tooth) and I am typing this comment on it right now.

      Do you think this 16GB of onboard RAM would be enough for the next 10 years?

    • @botnfs4640

      Thats crazy cause im in the same boat rn, just rdered an x13 gen 4 with max upgrades except for the oled display and its replacing my x230t. Hows ur x13 been so far? I know the keyboard will never compare to the older thinkpads but is it decent at least?

    • @sean_daly
      @sean_daly 2 месяца назад

      @@bilpo4729 honestly not sure. depends on your needs I guess. after using it for a few months now I have not run into an issue with 16gb; however, it is usually running in the 12gb usage range, so not much margin there. If I were ordering it again, I'd step up and get more than 16gb for future proofing.

    • @sean_daly

      @@botnfs4640 so far it has been good. it is thinner and lighter. I do like the new 16:10 apect ratio and the OLED screen is great. The bump in screen size from 12.5 to 13.3 is welcome. Battery life is okay at about 6-8 hours and I like the fact that it charges from USB-C. Of course performance is excellent. While it still has the legendary Thinkpad keyboard, it is admittedly not as good as the one on the X230. There's a lot I miss from the X230 like removable batteries, the "slice" dock, upgradeability, etc. Comparing to what's on the market today, the X13 is excellent and honestly don't know why it doesn't get more love. I don't see a need to spend more on something like the X1 carbon.

    I have to say the thinkpad series has stood the test of time. Maintained the same old look but also manages to look modern as well. For context I used to have an X61 and X201 before going for other laptops (Surface pro, asus zenbook) then came back to using thinkpad again. Currently using X13 Gen 1 AMD and still going strong. Have to admit thinkpads really lives up to being called rock solid

      I thought this would be a problem at first but the matte anti-glare screen does help tremendously in keeping that brigthness lower because there's not as many reflections. Usually if you have an OLED screen, that's like a mirror on modern laptops and you'll see screens upwards of 500 nits. This laptop is actually not that bad all things considered.

    I dont know why Lenovo is shipping 41w batteries at all. Battery life use to be a staple of Thinkpad. Why solder the ram if you aren’t adding bigger batteries and shorten the key travel . At least add a better trackpad. Great review just a little disappointed. Seems like the x series only gets intel cpu upgrades.

    • @ithinkabout4369
      @ithinkabout4369 Год назад

      The 41 Wh battery reduces the weight and it costs less. This is an enterprise model, and many enterprise customers want the cost saving and lower weight.

      @@andrewmarcdavid sounds like they’ve started selling them on the US website. But I don’t know how they can justify that price point ($2900, and I know they run sales often) with the Asus X13 at $2499. If you end up reviewing, it would be amazing to compare it with the Asus X13, XPS13 plus and maybe Framework 13 side-by-side. Cheers, mate!
