The second slot is for the WWAN card option. This model does not ship with the WWAN antennas or SIM tray, so this option must be selected via BTO, you can’t add it after the fact. Also, an SSD will not work in the WWAN slot as they did in much older models.
I have been using thinkpads for 20 years, almost always T models, but I bought an X13 G1, how wonderful!!! I'm about to buy another your Thinkpads team!!! Thanks for the review, it gives me information about the new model
Thanks! Great review 👌 Would love to see a comparision between T14s Gen 4 and X13 Gen 4. Configuration seems much the same, but would love to hear your thoughts on size difference, build quality, heating, fan noise, speakers.
The fan is oddly shaped because there is a second fan design available - if you buy the X13 G4 with a P28 CPU, it will have two small fans instead of the single one there.
Thanks for the review! That are not many out there for the X13 G4. 1) Can you still use the trackpad together with the trackpoint buttons, like an old school touch pad? (On some other models, there is an inbuilt 2 or 3 millisecond delay from when you touch the trackpad to when a touch of the trackpoint buttons can be registered, which prevents that). 2) Is the trackpad nice and firm, or a bit loose and depress it the corners slightly when you apply pressure before clicking? 2) Are the surfaces of the keys smooth? Also, how rough is the surface around the keyboard. I prefer the smooth surfaces of the X13 G1. 3) ~1000 single score on Cinebench R23 seems awfully low. That is the same as X13 G1. Are you sure you had it set to max performance? 4) What is the heat like? Can you comfortably put it on your lap? One review I read said it ran cool, whereas another said it ran hot.
For other people's benefit, I will answer my own questions, since this guy did not bother. 1) Yes, you can use the trackpoint buttons and trackpad together, no problems. 2) Yes, the trackpad is nice and firm, at least on the one that I tried. 3) Yes, the surfaces of the keys are smooth. 4) Yes, the R23 score was low. The one I tried got around 1500 on single core. 5) No problems with heat. However, on the one that I bought, the fan was dodgy, and made a constant buzzing sound. So, I sent it straight back, and did not bother getting a replacement, for fear of getting another one the same. Quality control standards are obviously slipping. Also, I did not like the rough surface finish of the laptop or the keyboard. The original Lenovo X13 GEN1 keyboard with 1.8mm key travel is way better than the 1.5mm keyboard on this GEN4. It does not sound like much, but when you are typing for hours, you can really feel the difference. Long story short, gave up on getting a new X13, and went back to my X13 GEN1 model.
Just curious, how is the size of this compared to the ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2? I know it's a 13.3 inch laptop but from my experience, the sizing can differ greatly. Thanks!

How much is the battery life for x13
That red dot really bothered me big time. Is there anyone using it these days. I wondered
The trackpoint? Still very popular
@@TechGuyBeau Really and why if I may ask. Thank you
Welldone, nice presentation!
Thanks! Great review 👌

Good review, thank you
great review!
Can it get one more the 2242 SSD?
I couldn't hear the fan test over the sound of my current laptops fan, lol.
You have the issue of a microphone picking up fan noise more acutely
Buildwise which is better T series or X series? Thanks.
Just curious, how is the size of this compared to the ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2? I know it's a 13.3 inch laptop but from my experience, the sizing can differ greatly. Thanks!
They are about the same. The z13 is heavier though as it’s all metal
Can the keyboard be replaced as easily as the t series models?
If you can compare 2024 with Intel ultra 7 155u T14 vs X13, Thanks
Holy hell it has two SSD slots?! I was debating ordering the AMD model of this and now I'm definitely getting it.
Nothing beats dual nvme on a tiny laptop for me. Honestly
Why wouldnt they put the largest battery by default?
Right? And the upgrade cost only ~ $7. Should have come standard
if you should choose between this and z13?
The z13 is much more premium but it’s also more expensive
What about the thermals, is the keyboard getting hot?
Nope. Nice and cool on this model
What is better, the the lenovo legion 5i with the 4060 or the slim 7 also with the 4060?
The slim 7 is a more premium device. If prices are the same I’d get the slim 7
should I go for a and 7840U instead of intel
Yes
I’m waiting to get my x13 gen 3. I7-1280p w/32gb ram (ddr4) touchscreen 1tb. eBay $644. This would destroy a 13th “U” cpu.
1280p is awesome yeah. Battery might drop a bit but raw performance will excel
Is it better built than the T14 series?
Probably yeah.
Is the SSD upgradable?
Yes
What are your thoughts about the L series specifically the L14 amd? Thanks
Should be about the same as the e series. Just get whichever is cheaper
Please ask them thinkpad L13 yoga gen4
Maybe :p
I ordered myself another thinkpad (e14). It should arrive soon
15:10 ??
bro made a whole ass advert
It’s called a review. You should look them up sometimes. Pretty common in fact ;)
Lighter than a MacBook Air 😂
Sry, but it's so markable shit. It's the main reason to not purchase it
Thinkpad used to be king but now they’re no longer king anymore
Please elaborate
