  • Recording this video actually took so long. So many times I just sat there staring into the filming camera. In the end it’s way more fluent than the previous video about the Sony 28mm f/2.
    I admire all RUclipsr who feel so at ease in front of their camera.
    As all things it‘s a matter of „training“ and „doing“ I guess.

      I have no experience with the Samyang, but even after switching back to Canon, I sometimes miss the 55 1.8 Zeiss.

      Hey there :)
      Thanks for asking. Right now I'm not sharing my Preset. Maybe in the future.
      But I've got an alternative for you. here: beloved-stories.com/presets/
      at the very Top of the website you'll find a free preset. I've used this one for some time, it's really good. And you can work from it as a base and develop your own.
      And another very good one is to find here: juliaandgil.com/preset-collections/
      I'm not sure where exactly, but it's there. Maybe for signing up for a newsletter ..
      Hope that helps you!
      Have a good start into the new year! :)

    • @dasignarts
      @dasignarts  4 года назад +2

      Hey Golf :)
      Well..good question..a lot is happening through the camera calibration. Then some Dual Toning (Blue shadows and light blue highlights), HSL Adjustments and all 4 Tone Curves (Red, Blue, Green, Exposure) have some kind of S-Shape.

    Sony55F1.8 or Sony 28F2 -which is the best lens ( mainly shooting family during travel , holidays weddings etc)

    • @dasignarts
      @dasignarts  4 года назад

      uh tough question actually. I'd choose the 28mm. Because with friends and family u used to be much closer (physically) and if you're using the 55mm you'd always have to back up a little to get people in frame. With the 28mm you can stay much closer, keep the conversation and still take some cool shots along the way :)
      If you happen to have both lenses, the 55mm is super small as well. So it's rather easy to carry around as well.
      Hope this helps you!

    Will you be comparing the Sony FE 85 f1.8 with this lens? I am struggling to pick between these two and I shoot mainly portraits. But would love to bring either of these for travel too. I know the 55 is more versatile but how does it compare with 85 for mainly portraits?

    • @dasignarts
      @dasignarts  4 года назад

      Uhh that's an interesting question. As I think about it, there are some things to consider. Some differences in the look and feel of the pictures that come from the two lenses. I think I'll do a short video about it. That would be the easiest to show the differences. Right know I'm cutting Videos about the 85 1.8 and the 35 1.4 sigma. After these, I'll do the comparison Video for you.
      Do you travel a lot? That would be interesting to know to make a more thoughtful recommendation.

      @@dasignarts Actually just paid for the Zeiss 55 yesterday and waiting to be shipped! But honestly still eyeing on the FE 85 not sure if I should get both instead as my main is portraits. I don't consider myself as travelling very often but perhaps a bit more next year! Would love for you to do a comparison video of mainly portrait for both lenses tho! (indoor & outdoor?)

      @@janelleyuan6402 Heyhey :)
      Congrats to the 55 :)
      the 55 is definitely a good option. It's also one of the sharpest lenses available btw.
      Getting the FE 85mm 1.8 some time in the future is also a good idea. I got them both for a reason^^
      I'll make a video about the two lenses. There is a Video about the 85mm & the 35mm that I'm cutting right now. So don't be confused that there are 2 other video uploaded before I do your Video.
      I'd love to hear your thoughts of the 55 as well, as soon as you gained some experience with it. :)

    How do you like the minimum focus distance?

    • @dasignarts
      @dasignarts  4 года назад +1

      A little closer would be nice. My old Canon 50mm 1.4 USM goes even closer.
      But I still love the lens. With 24mp you can crop a litte for social media. And you get creative to get the pictiures you want BECAUSE of the limitation.
      But still, a little closer would be nice. :)

    Hi Dasignarts...can i buy your preset..??

    • @dasignarts
      @dasignarts  3 года назад +1

      Hey Ken! :)
      Well, maybe soon ^_^
      I'll setup a website until the end of the year and I have 1 or 2 presets that could be sold.
      I'll probably make a fitting tutorial for each preset because no preset works for all photos.
      There are always different outcomes depending on the light you had while taking the photo (Sun vs. Clouds / Indoor vs. Outdoor / RAW vs. jpeg ...)
      So the tutorial would be about how to get the look right with all your photos.
      But this is still just an idea. :)
      What do you think of it? :)

    I can’t decide among this and the planar 50 mm1.4 :(

    • @dasignarts
      @dasignarts  4 года назад +1

      uhh the planar is interesting. Isn't it full manuel?
      It'll definitely have a liiiittle more bokeh and the bokeh will have other characteristics.
      the 55 1.8 is ultra sharp! and fast autofocus.
      Maybe you could rent both of them, or try them in a camera store. And on Amazon you'll get your money back if you order both and return one of the lenses.
      What do you think is the best way for you? :)
      Have a great weekend! :)
