Thoughts on camping aside, can we appreciate the Felix who accepted his fate and stayed on hook so his team could finish gens and start the exit gate? Good teammate 10/10
Yes, if you are camped - always stay on the hook to the bitter end. The campers want you to give up and die so that they go for the next person to camp. By hanging on you mess with their plan and annoy them. If they start hitting you on the hook to vent their anger - even better, now you know that you really got to them.
Plus they also lose some points by camping for so long. I just wish the penalty was more severe (though disabled if all gens are done).
@@ManlyOBeeferton I think a solution to this is A: make it so that the less gens are done, the bigger the penalty (for example, camping at 5 gens gives a higher penalty then camping at, for example, 1 or 2 gens), and B: if you stay within a certain radius of the hooked survivor for X seconds, you can no longer see scratchmarks or blood pools. It'd make it easier to sneak up on said camper and try to get a cheeky unhook when they aren't looking.
@@dccrashergames6553 I actually thought of the same thing (A). I guess it could be exploited by 99ing gens, but maybe it could also be coupled with a requirement for a certain amount of time having elapsed in the match.

The worse part about that Meg is she literally had reassurance and she could have activated it from the floor above the Felix, but chose to hide in a locker instead.

Seriously underrated perk. I recently went for Adept Rebecca and that very game, we had a camping Ghostface. Bought our team over an entire generator worth of time.
@@BunnychanFarabee I absolutely love it as well. best anti-camp perk there is. you can play around off the record, ds or BT, but reassurance? very hard to prevent. you could down the person trying to apply it, but you win nothing by it. if you pick up, the other gets rescued, if you dont, they crawl away and try again.

I recently played bubba for the first time, and on my 4th game someone was upset at me in the endgame chat for not letting them experience the true bubba experience, face camp tunnel and all. In their words it's my right as a bubba to face camp. I am grateful for their advice, and I am now happy to call myself a true bubba. (I'm just kidding I haven't even played bubba since that day but I found it hilarious.)

Getting a match like this is always soul crushing, you really wanna help your team mates but you can't, and Bubba always gets more kills than he deserves. I really don't understand why they get rewarded for this playstyle.
they get rewarded cause survivors give up on hook while the others either try to unhook (and go down) or they do nothing. The other 3 should be doing gens
You answered your own question: Why do they get rewarded? Because altruistic Survivors like you exist. I on the other hand don't care, I just hope the person on the hook doesn't give up early so the rest of us can rush the gens. ^^

I had a match as bubba one day that i remember in particular. It was against a streamer with three friends. I ended up killing all four of them and i was thinking: damn, i better get ready for a shitstorm. Turns out, they had played against two other bubbas before and both of them camped hardcore, and they were just glad that i wasnt camping. kinda sad.

One thing to remember for all killers: if all 3 other survivors come to the hook, you don’t have to leave. That’s not camping. What the bubba was doing in the first game was camping
Honestly I remember one match on Coldwind where we were cranking out gens while Bubba kept trying to take anyone he downed to basement with iron grasp/agitation, and it was the most terrifying thing b/c we all KNEW whoever got hooked there was never coming out. It was funny as hell too tbh.

What hurts the most about camping bubba is that I genuinely actually love going against people who actually play him. The noises he makes, just barely diving through the window in time, locker tantrum dodging. He's such a fun killer to go against when you actually play him. :/

I just got myself Bubba recently and he's a lot of fun. When I become Undetectable, they expect I'm Insidious camping. What they don't realize is I've actually used Trail of Torment and am directly behind them.

I'm a Bubba Main since 3 years and what I can say about this Killer. A lot of Bubbas just don't understand how the Chainsaw works, what they can do with Chainsaw and when they should use it. That's why a lot of Bubbas are getting 5 gen chases and then face camping. And of course, a lot of people are playing Bubba to camp Survivors, because this killer is very effective at it. But, advanced Leatherface game play is insanely entertaining, Bubba has insane potential, but Dead By Daylight players underestimate him and don't know what this Killer can do. Bubba has a few aspects of advanced game play - 1) Cannibal can outplay most of Pallets in this game, doing a "Reverses Chainsaw" or "Flicks" on the loop is very important aspect. Survivors are not expecting these plays from Bubba and it works very well. But, it require some practice, you need Chainsaw Sweeping very tightly and in the same time perfectly pressing your tokens and also in the same time reverse your direction and catch a Survivor before he will reach a Pallet. It's very effective, with 132.25% (136.21% Beast's Marks) you can do amazing things. 2) Charges management is very important, sometimes if you starts using your Chainsaw, for example 1 second too late, you will not catch a Survivor before he reaches a Pallet. You need learn from what distance you can catch a Survivor with 3 charges. It's very strong, because you are catching Survivor very fast and against some Survivors even when they will reach a Pallet, they will greed it, because they think you will not catch them, because you were Chainsaw Sweeping from a long distance. 3) The Cannibal has a Chainsaw Sprint bloodpoint category, it can help you with learning charges. Why? Default Cannibal can get maximum 90 blood points in Chainsaw Sprint category, with Purple Chili he can get 112 and with double Chili 123. Sooo, if you get for example 84 Blood Points and you needed 1 additional meter to catch a Survivor - it's your mistake. 4) About addons - the best combination is Award Winning Chili & Beast's Marks together - with these addons Cannibal has 136.21% movement speed during a Chainsaw Sweep and 7.50 seconds duration. About double Chili - this combination isn't good, because Bubba is getting his maximum Chainsaw Sweep movement speed after 60% use of his first Charge. For example, with double Chili Cannibal needs 1.65 second to reach a maximum speed and also you don't have Beast's Marks, Bubba is very slow at the start. That's why Carburetor Tunning Guide is bugged, because with Carburetor Bubba has 1 Big Charge (7.5 seconds) and with our definition he will reach maximum movement speed after 4.50 seconds (0-4.50 seconds he has something around 84% - 129.95%, and then for the last 3 seconds he has maximum movement speed) and that's why it's the worst addons in the game. Even speed limiter is better because you can use your Chainsaw to break a Pallets efficiently (Carburetor use all charges instantly after breaking a Pallet). Sooo, double Chili is better than default for sure, but it's not worth to use Yellow Chili with Purple Chili together. The best 2 combinations are (in my opinion) Purple Chili & Beast's Marks and Beast's Marks & Primer Bulb. Without duration addons Cannibal reaches his movement speed faster and it's also important. 5) Zoning, clever zoning with Bubba is very strong, everyone can say it. 6) With Award Winning Chili & Beast's Marks Cannibal can use "Two Charges Tech". You are using Chainsaw, Survivor drops a Pallet and you breaks a Pallets with 1 Charge and you have 2 Charges left - You can immediately rev your Chainsaw with 2 charges and catch a Survivor. It's extremely strong against HIGH MMR Survivors and even better against average Survivors. I can write more more & more interesting things about Bubba, but these are the most important.

I ran into a Bubba on RPD the other day. He got one hook on someone with Kindred, and stood there unmoving while we finished 3 gens and escaped. Only saw his aura a few times when he looked down his hallway, otherwise he stood there with Insidious.

At this point, it’s DBD tradition. It’s like putting ornaments on a Xmas tree. We go through the effort just to watch them hang, because it’s familiar. It takes us back, to years past…
That match was so exciting to watch! Also I love how the Zarina knew which add on made the difference there. Shows how experienced these survivors actually were.

They took about 15 seconds to read the add-on thourouly and to connect it to that moment in game that made the difference of them reaching the pallet or going down - then also wrote gg wp AND they wrote that comment on how the green add-on f*cked them? In 15 secs? They HAD to have prior knowledge of bubba's add-ons and how they translate to the actual gameplay. Remember: bubba's built is only shown to survivor after the match completely finished.
I stand my point unless they went ahead and researched the add-ons the moment they died, they had to have knowledge on his add on and recognised during the match when it came in clutch.

Best add-on combo for Bubba, very noticeable if he has it but I guess I have 5.5K hours so it’s always easy to call add-ons on most killers

From my experiences, it feels like Bubba was designed for camping. People say Hillbilly and Bubba are similar playstyles, but lets be honest, Billy is made for high mobility and trap traversal, but Bubba was made for making small/tight spaces dangerous. Thats what makes him such an easy kiler to camp with

Honestly I think the worst part of this type of gameplay is that if you spend the entire game on the hook and die you de-pip and there is literally nothing you can do to prevent it. Should be a loss prevention in place of you die on your first hook due to face camping, or straight up tunneling.

I think the difference is the ability to camp by proxy with Victor, the birds, or even trapper's traps (you used to be able to put them right under a hooked survivor, it was rancid). Bubba at least has to be present at the hook to use his power.

Bubba has a hidden facet to his power. If you hook someone before the first gen pops, there is a 50% chance the hooked survivor will disconnect if you take a few steps away, then stand still for just long enough for them to think you have Insidious. Don't even need to bring it and you really never need to nor should.

It happens every now and then. Mainly if you get caught within the first couple of generators. After that your chances to get off hook go down significantly.
Recently had a game against a Blight who played super well - so well, in fact, that the Nea on my team decided to throw down a pallet next to me and then hide in a locker instead of helping do gens or unhook our two teammates (Nea was doing nothing before so I had assumed she was gonna rescue). The Blight obviously ran over and saw me, so I took him to the locker and opened it to reveal the coward hiding inside. We all still died but I wasn't about to let Nea get away with that
I play facecamp Bubba when I go through a series of killer games where I get absolutely destroyed. Helps cleanse the palate.

Back when I first started playing DbD I picked Bubba as my first main because he looked fun to play(rip bbq) 9 times out of 10 I would be thanked by player for being a nice Bubba I thought I was cracked or something but I just didn't know basement Bubba was a thing even less a problem haha
I hate how they took off the BP reward for BBQ and kept it for Prove Thyself. It IS unfair even if killers do get more BP generally.

I feel with both matches, this just highlights why it’s busted that a killer can instadown without having to use a hex/perk or gain their power like Oni… I know bubba can be countered with competent teams but the majority of players are solo queue
Meh, I don't think bubba is busted at all. If they were we would see a lot more bubba's, on the level of nurse or blight. They're powerful, yeah, but not too powerful. I think it's important the community learns the distinction, less we nerf any viable killers down to Legion tier.
not just an instadown but a sweeping multi hit long lasting insta down. there's some counterplay to try and bait and dodge or one for one with most other instadowns but bubba has low risk and high reward for camping since you just can't 1 for 1 or bait something out, he's got a bunch of charges and each one can down all 4 survivors.

It's incredibly unfair that he is the only killer in the game who can be guaranteed a kill on first hook no matter what when the system is clearly designed around survivors being hooked multiple times. Uh, yeah, someone definitely did say they were busted. This is a direct quote from the original comment I replied too. Did you... read, the original comment?
Anyways, yeah, his camping game is unfair. I don't think that makes him busted though, I think that just means he's too strong in a very specific area of his kit. And that area of his kit is only that strong if the survivors he faces aren't coordinated. Logically, statistically, if a bubba facecamps every survivor down to death, they can only really guarantee two kills if the remaining survivors focus generators. it takes 2 minutes for a survivor to die on hook, and 95 seconds for a single survivor to finish a gen. 3 gens on first dying survivor, two gens on second, and you'll still have time to spare. So logically, a team of smart survivors should almost always end a match with a facecamping bubba in two or more escapes. Unless they made a mistake or the bubba stopped facecamping at some point.
So his power being unfair around hooks is only half of it, survivors still have to play into it for the killer to get maximum value. Yeah, your average team isn't a four man SWF, but even one person with kindred completely counters his ability to snowball. At that point, it's just up to the survivors to play sensibly and genrush. If they don't, the loss is on them, not really the scummy strategy.
So... Yeah. Any team that loses more than 2 people to a Leatherface that does nothing but camp the entire match has lost due to their own mistakes or miscordination. Yeah, I also get that it sucks to be one of the two people who were facecamped with no option, but that's just how some matches are.
Killers lose matches all the time, often in much more heartbreaking or frustrating manners, it's just part of the game. Until the game changes, there's no reason to hate on the player just trying to win, rather than the devs who designed to to work that way.
I would also explain why the game is still balanced/designed to kills rather than hooks, but this comment is already long enough. Let's be real, 9/10 people on the internet wouldn't even care to read all this, so chances are all I'm writing towards is a "I'm not about to read your essay" or something along those lines

I had just recently bought Bubby so I could begin unlocking some of his perks and also just an interest in playing him. In my first match where I only had lightborn equipped to avoid the flashlights the survivors brought I was overall doing poorly as I was unfamiliar with chainsaw movement and they were popping gens and great at chase. The one knock I got happened to be inside the shack as the survivor got greedy with the window. As soon as I turned to go into basement it was an automatic DC

The worst thing is that you can't even blame them for playing like that since they are not cheating in any way. If the 3 remaining survivors decided to complete all the gens instead of trying to get the save, they would have a 3 sirvivor escape. It sucks for the hooked survivor but bad luck I guess.
True statement, but no bubba joins a match with insidious if they are not gonna camp even at 5 gens, but I see your point.
We can absolutely blame them, only because someone is not cheating does not mean what they are doing is alright. The same way that you can be a total ass to people around you without actually breaking any laws does not make what you are doing acceptable, if you disagree then do this in real life and then convince the people about to "deal with you" that what you did was in fact perfectly alright since it did not break any laws.
Besides if the Bubba has Deadlock then the progress will be heavily halted without the Bubba having to do anything, pretty much guaranteeing that there will be no 3 man escape if any at all.

Face Camping Bubbas ruin the reputation of bubba.
I play him a decent amount and he's satisfying and frustrating at the same time.
Satisfying as it's a great feeling when you perfectly make you way around a loop and get that down but also frustrating when you hit the tiniest pixel of a box and go into tantrum purgatory.
It's sad to see so many bubba's face camp.
It's like if you play bubba most people will immediately think oh a face camping bubba great.
The only reason i mainly play survivor is that i want to be so good, that if a camping booba starts chasing me at the start of the game, i can loop him for enough time to make my team escape
how would you know it's a camping bubba if he starts chasing you at the start of the match

All they need to do is add a perk that activates if the killer spends a certain amount of time camping a hook within 30 meters or so. Basically, a conditional borrowed time/og deadhard. That'll snuff out basement/face-camping Bubbas.
I literally have people grateful when they play against my Bubba because I don't face camp. It's the easiest way to be treated like a hero as a killer lol
Right? The survs can't believe it. Every post-game I get at least one person saying "A non-camping Bubba?? I'm going to buy a lottery ticket!" or something like that. I wish all post-games could be the positive.

They do it to piss you off. They know it's completely skilless and boring and ruins your match. It's the equivalent of a troll.
It's BHVR's fault really. They should redesign Bubba so he can't play like this to begin with. How they redesign him is my guess...I'd probably make his chainsaw not insta kill and then give him some sort of anti-loop to compensate.

I enjoy anxiety-free games. Bubba is one of few killers that can deal with survivor harassment and BS

Using Bubba's power skillfully is actually super rewarding, I love sprinting around tight loops without triggering a tantrum when survivors least expect it. Faking chainsaws to get them to greed a pallet or a window is also an advanced strat that feels nice when you time it perfectly to get a free M1. Obviously you can pressure hooks and camp too, but I try my best to use it as a last resort when I'm backed in to a corner or when it's legitimately just the correct play in the moment and I never face camp. Bad players give my boy a bad rep.
