  • The Kawasaki Versys SE - 6tdegrees motorcycle review
    A newly developed Sports Touring or target claimed 'Sports Adventure' motorcycle from Kawasaki has emerged.
    After many days of sitting in the saddle of the newly released Versys there was much to be said and recognised on what this BIG GREEN machine has to offer... and what it does not!
    Specs alone can't justify the smooth yet technical nature of this 'Sports Adventure' motorcycle... So we decided to take it upon ourselves to explain why!...

    Nice review....but you nailed it with no heated grips, no heated seats, and no electric windshield. That would be fine if the price tag was not pushing 18K. Take a look at the new Triumph Tiger 1200....has all the features that you would expect.

    Good review,looking for my next ride after my current Sprint GT. I tried the Honda VFR800 Crossrunner for a couple of years but was underwhelmed with the smaller capacity=less torque. At the moment a Tiger or this seem like good options. Tiger review please?

    Great review, looking at the 2021 1000S as my next ride. It doesn't come with the electronic suspension, but I can pick up a 2019 SE new from Nerang but hate the green. Will I be missing a great ride by not having the KECS...?

    Bought mine in FL.... Don't need heated seat, or electric windshield... But LOVE the KQS quick shifter... It's one of my favorite features. Maybe if I was in a colder climate I'd rather have heated seat or something but nope.. I ride year round in sunny FL.

      Khalid N Hi mate I live in Australia and the thing called green slip is priced to do with engine size my Fjr was costing to much the other reason the Versys is lighter and chain drive so I changed the rear sprocket now great for touring and cutting around the mountains don’t get me wrong my Fjr was 2003 mob I miss it in some way but the Versys puts a smile on my face with every ride

    The GS doesn't have electric windshield as most bike don't, now heated grips, I agree with you; quick shifter on sport tours is a must, it's have sports guys build for touring. Your assessment is spot on but your dislikes put me on the other side of the road. Great review, thanks for sharing 👍🏽

    • @arjenbootsma6881
      @arjenbootsma6881 4 года назад +2

      It's more (sports) touring than adventure, you don't want to take it into gnarly off-road situations. But it's an excellent on-road touring bike, also an excellent all-rounder. I should know, I own a '15 Versys: I commute on it, travel with it, having fun in the mountains on it, did my Iron Butt (1,000 miles in one day; in the civilized world, that would be 1,608 km in 24 hours) on it.
      The choice between the Versys and the Ninja would come down to how tall and how limber you are, and whether you're planning to do long (> 500, 600 km days) rides regularly. The Versys would be a roomier and more comfortable, especially when you're taller.

    I own this bike. All is good as they describe, but after 22,000km I feel like they released it 80% complete and 20% still needs adjustment. QS sucks, it slips from 2nd to 3rd all the time. Front fork dives pretty low under heavy braking... And it needs more power...

    • @6tdegrees
      @6tdegrees  4 года назад +6

      sol star you didn’t say “in detail” or please at the start 😉
      The Slot at the base of the windscreen is to prevent low pressure areas behind the the screen.
      Explanation - Without a slot/hole the pressure behind the screen is much lower than in front of it. This causes the air going over the top of the screen to get sucked down immediately which lowers its trajectory and causes a lot of turbulence in the air that eventually hits you. Hence the bubble head motion.
      The slot that you see on the screen allows high pressure air behind the screen which flows up the backside of the screen to prevent so much of the air coming over the top from getting sucked down thus reducing wind buffeting by a good amount.
      More surface area... the bigger the turbulence.

      I just took the new XR for a ride,stonker motor,great brakes,firm handling but the motor felt buzzy which could become annoying on a long trip. Mind you I just came of riding the relaxed Sprint GT triple and a silky smooth CB1300.
