- The Kawasaki Versys SE - 6tdegrees motorcycle review
A newly developed Sports Touring or target claimed 'Sports Adventure' motorcycle from Kawasaki has emerged.
After many days of sitting in the saddle of the newly released Versys there was much to be said and recognised on what this BIG GREEN machine has to offer... and what it does not!
Specs alone can't justify the smooth yet technical nature of this 'Sports Adventure' motorcycle... So we decided to take it upon ourselves to explain why!... Авто/Мото
Great intro, mentioning the sunrise on the glittery green paint. Halfway to buying... ;)
Very good review guys. Heaps of detail of how it rides, minus the spec sheet humdrum. Thanks fella's.
Great review. Have been looking forward to this one.
Thanks for a well-put-together review. Well done ...
... and thanks for the special treat (for me) at the end where you wrote 'Big thumps up'.
Sorry guys. Couldn't help myself.
Finally....someone that talks like i do....great review...love this bike
Thanks for that, really enjoyed it. Looking forward to riding one around NSW……when I can get back!!
Don't need electric screen, don't need heated seat, don't need quickshift. Bloody brilliant bike I have the 2016. So easy to ride and pillion with. Good Aussie review.
Echo the other comments - great review guys!
Currently on Versys 650 2018, this is my next upgrade for sure.
I'm so glad to hear someone else use the term "Holy-shit bars"!
We call em holy fuck bars.
Nice review....but you nailed it with no heated grips, no heated seats, and no electric windshield. That would be fine if the price tag was not pushing 18K. Take a look at the new Triumph Tiger 1200....has all the features that you would expect.
Agreed,a quick shifter shouldn't be on this type of bike, and an electric screen would be appreciated.Throw in shaft drive, and I'd really be on board with this bike.Great review fellas, thank you.👍👍
Good review, looking for my next ride after my current Sprint GT. I tried the Honda VFR800 Crossrunner for a couple of years but was underwhelmed with the smaller capacity=less torque. At the moment a Tiger or this seem like good options. Tiger review please?
Great review, looking at the 2021 1000S as my next ride. It doesn't come with the electronic suspension, but I can pick up a 2019 SE new from Nerang but hate the green. Will I be missing a great ride by not having the KECS...?
Good review. I guess this bike also has something like a regenerative paint which helps cover scuffs and minor scratches.
Excellent Review....
Why is it that almost noone mentions the most easy to use center stand i have ever encountered on a bike? Riding the base model and missing nothing - just had to say that, too :o)
I'm glad you mentioned it Hans.
Thank you 👍
Bought mine in FL.... Don't need heated seat, or electric windshield... But LOVE the KQS quick shifter... It's one of my favorite features. Maybe if I was in a colder climate I'd rather have heated seat or something but nope.. I ride year round in sunny FL.
Is it up and down qs?!
@@user-sc4hl3dm5n yes.. love it too!
nice review I sold my FJR and needed a bike to fill the spot its became one of my favorits ,cant fault it
FJR owner here. How would you compare the two? Why did you make the switch? Thanks.
Khalid N Hi mate I live in Australia and the thing called green slip is priced to do with engine size my Fjr was costing to much the other reason the Versys is lighter and chain drive so I changed the rear sprocket now great for touring and cutting around the mountains don’t get me wrong my Fjr was 2003 mob I miss it in some way but the Versys puts a smile on my face with every ride
Are all those features in the300 versys?
The GS doesn't have electric windshield as most bike don't, now heated grips, I agree with you; quick shifter on sport tours is a must, it's have sports guys build for touring. Your assessment is spot on but your dislikes put me on the other side of the road. Great review, thanks for sharing 👍🏽
Mine has heated grips standard? But I'm in the US
I had QS,on my tracer 900gt,i hated it,so cluncky...The versys 1000 has one of the smoothest gearbox that i ever ridden.
I dont want give 1 dollar more for a QS,maybe on a real sport bike..not on a tourer
..
Great review, really wonder how the Versus holds agains the new Ninja Z1000SX 2020. Last more in the Sports touring then adventure.
It's more (sports) touring than adventure, you don't want to take it into gnarly off-road situations. But it's an excellent on-road touring bike, also an excellent all-rounder. I should know, I own a '15 Versys: I commute on it, travel with it, having fun in the mountains on it, did my Iron Butt (1,000 miles in one day; in the civilized world, that would be 1,608 km in 24 hours) on it.
The choice between the Versys and the Ninja would come down to how tall and how limber you are, and whether you're planning to do long (> 500, 600 km days) rides regularly. The Versys would be a roomier and more comfortable, especially when you're taller.
@@arjenbootsma6881 you can get a seat that lowers the seat height by 20mm, its a comfy bike even if you are average height
@@basuo8378 while that may be the case, however, there is NOT a taller seat available for us taller folks.
@@arjenbootsma6881 never heard any complaints about people that are 6'3
@@basuo8378 I'm 6'5", and I'd love a seat taller by 1 to 2 inches. But it is not available from Kawasaki.
I’d love to see a review on either the Street Triple R or even RS if you guys can get ahold of one. I’m thinking R version would be the preferred street riding version over the RS but would be good to find out your thoughts anyway.
I wonder why the aussie model doesn't get heated grips.
Versys 1000 vs Bmw R1250Rs thoughts?
This Review is awesome! Please review the Versys 650 Lams edition?
J F see what we can do 😉
When will you review ninja650
Hallo boys very good review loved it. But i need some help i like the new versys 1000 S but i also like the new vstrom1050 I'd like to know your thoughts on which of these two bikes in your opinion is better on value for money, comfort, mechanically, features, longevity, riding with pillion and other positive and negative on these bikes. I'm ready to buy and adventure bike and need some help. Anyone who wishes to comment please do as i am in two minds as what to get. Cheers and ride safely
How much u give score out of 10?
Mimpi buat saya memilikinya....
I own this bike. All is good as they describe, but after 22,000km I feel like they released it 80% complete and 20% still needs adjustment. QS sucks, it slips from 2nd to 3rd all the time. Front fork dives pretty low under heavy braking... And it needs more power...
Thx for the honest comment. I will take it out of consideration
MiGAngeI test ride 2 bikes on the same day: Versys 1000 and BMW XR1000. Let me know what you think.
Also you can try Ducati and KTM.
Explain the hole in the windshield?please !
sol star stops wind buffeting on the wind shield and helmet 👍
6Tdegrees - again how does it do it with a hole in it please explain?better please!
sol star you didn’t say “in detail” or please at the start 😉
The Slot at the base of the windscreen is to prevent low pressure areas behind the the screen.
Explanation - Without a slot/hole the pressure behind the screen is much lower than in front of it. This causes the air going over the top of the screen to get sucked down immediately which lowers its trajectory and causes a lot of turbulence in the air that eventually hits you. Hence the bubble head motion.
The slot that you see on the screen allows high pressure air behind the screen which flows up the backside of the screen to prevent so much of the air coming over the top from getting sucked down thus reducing wind buffeting by a good amount.
More surface area... the bigger the turbulence.
6Tdegrees 👍👌🆗
Yamaha, are you watching this?!( in reference to Super Ténéré)
Kawasaki Versys vs BMW XR?
I just took the new XR for a ride, stonker motor, great brakes, firm handling but the motor felt buzzy which could become annoying on a long trip. Mind you I just came of riding the relaxed Sprint GT triple and a silky smooth CB1300.
Michael Eric the new Xr ? 2020
Rating level: Yah yah yah
For the price of this you can purchase a brand new 2018 triump tiger xrt. Which has 140 hp. Heated seats and grips. Cornering ABS. Quick shifter. All the bells and whistles. It's a much better bike.
I totally agree!
Or a Tracer 900 gt.
