I’m headed to go buy a 2019 right now! Custom leather seat frame protectors 15,000 miles, it’s in mint condition. He originally wanted 8600. I talked him down to 7500. How are you enjoying your bike thank you
They acussed this bike of not being stable over 160. It felt pretty rock solid when i rode it. Every tall bike is stable ... for a tall bike. But if you start comparing them (even the most prestigious ones, even the most powerful ones) with a GTR or an FJR or an RT then they feel rubish. Every bike serve a purpose. Tall ones easy riding. Short ones fast riding. And that's it.
I have the 2023 Versys 1000 Se Grand Tour with the Skyhook suspension. Brilliant bike, does everything really well. Won't compete with superbikes, but a fantastic all rounder 👍
The way you were riding on the autobahn, you must have a pair of “Big Brass Balls” my friend.!! Kick ass video. i am in awe concerning your Kawasaki Versus 1000 se. i just ordered one today from my local Kawa dealer. Rock on my friend.!
How great the Germans are! In my country we have 10,000 mile hwy no.1 and at times its so deserted it feels like your driving on a hwy on Mars, yet the speed limit is max 85mph.
Perhaps can be more appropriate to use SPORT setup for high speed? More stable I guess. I own a Versys 1000 since 2020, 33k km now, and I use SPORT setup for better handling on high speed.
So glad to see that you took it over 160 Kmh as one reviewer insisted that it became unsafe over that speed, I fancy the SE if only for the suspension, has anyone tried it with the MRA Vario screen and if so , any good ??
On my 2017 1000S i can drive 180 with big touring screen and no issues with wobbling. Above 180 yes you can feel some but when do you drive that fast for long period...
Good job Bro, seen a lot of videos on this bike and enjoyed the video you have done. Yeah not massive on Horsepower compared to the H2 sx, but at least you will keep ur licence a bit longer on this Bike LOL. Yeah a 256 kg bike seems very nimble when you ride it and man it goes well on the Autobahn at those speeds.Great stuff, Ride safe party On!!
Man that thing has some power because its an upright bike and the aerodynamics really take a lot of hp to overcome on the top end. It always makes me a bit nervous watching others ride about 150 km/hr or so on youtube. I guess I don't have the genes for it.
Hi, I would be great to have a comparison kawa versys 1000 vs Honda NT1100. Pro and contra. Actually I’m looking for these two models and can not decide.
Thanks! The wind protection over all has been one of the best I have ever experienced on a bike. I can't exactly tell you, because on that day the weather has been very hot. I didn't feel much wind under the knees.
The wind protection is very good from head to knees. During the summer, I had to point my knees out to the outside slightly to get more wind flow. But during the cooler days/nights, late fall, early spring riding, the wind protection is appreciated. I rode an '16 R3, '05 R6, and a '07 FZ1 and this is by far the most comfortable and wind protection motorcycle I've rode on.
What mount did you use to mount your cell phone in the center? I mounted my phone on the handlebar by the left mirror, but that catches bugs during the warmer days.
Not really a beginner bike. First gear on the big Versys can be touchy. Definitely needs a feathered clutch hand, especially turning from a stop light. Fairly tame and well-behaved otherwise. Best freeway bike I have ever owned. Some people could start on it though, and it produces plenty of power and torque at lower rpm's. Practice your clutch work on a friends smaller dirt or street bike to get the feathering (leaving clutch partially engaged with your left hand) technique down. Better to get over potential whiskey throttle issues with a much smaller and less powerful machine. You might have problems with buffeting from the screen if you are tall. I'm 6' 1" and have no problems. The guys that are taller seem to have issues with the original (2015 etc.) screen. I don't know if the SE screen is taller. It sure looks bigger than my 2015 Versys.
I have the 2019 Kawasaki Versys 100 SE LT +, and I never get wind fatigue, because of the hand guards and the tall windscreen. My knees were very sore after riding for 10 hours, but at that point, everything will be sore. This is a very comfortable motorcycle and would recommend it to anyone if you're looking for comfort, wind protection, long distance riding, and carrying luggage.
It’s been 10 years since I rode, in the past I’ve had four bikes all of them, sport bikes I love going fast on a straight line, but I never was able to learn how to lean into turns I get scared
I guess it's a matter of personal opinion. I have the same 1043cc engine in my Ninja1000 and like all I4 cylinder engines, there is plenty of high frequency vibration. I feel it mostly in the pegs and seat. After riding at a constant highway speed my fingers feel a bit numb after getting off the bike for awhile. Nothing bad while riding, but still noticeable. Don't know what year your bike is and whether there is better balancing in the engine than my 2014 Ninja1000. Maybe more isolation in the Versys as well. Get that bike on a tight twisty road, not on the Autobahn with gentle high speed curves and let us know how well the bike handles in the transitions. That's the true test in my opinion.
The ECU of the Versys 1000 is programmed differently. The horsepower and torque are lower and the character is Different. The max power is reached at a lower RPM. So it sounds logica that the Versys vibrates less then your Ninja.
@@rogierw9539 It is much more than just ECU mapping. Versys 1000 is lower compression ratio. The following components are different: Crank, cylinder block, piston rings, cylinder head, and camshafts. The lower compression ratio and different valving most likely provides better low rpm/ high load lugging characteristic with less vibration and more stable torque curve. Most likely below 3000 rpm which is much more pleasant characteristic on a touring motorcycle. On Ninja 1000SX it will balk at you when you throttle up in higher gears below this point. How do I know? My brother owns one and I own a Versys 1000 and have ridden them back-to-back.
hi bro, can we request for a mountain pass? with external mic under the seat compartment (to remove wind noise and enhance engine/exhaust notes) pls? ill be buying the 2021 S version by nxt yr. -mike from Philippines
Yes over 200kmh the bike wobbles slightly. But I must tell: this is an issue I have experienced on other bikes like BMW S1000 XR and Yamaha Tracer 900 GT too.
Pretty sure the wobble is due to the wind vortex being created at high speeds. As far as the loose mirrors are concerned that's unacceptable on a top tier bike. Love how you explain the riding experience in relatable terms. Wish you luck!! Ride on brother🤘🏼
Nice video and ride. Could you say more about the wobble? With decel or on power? Do you think the firmer suspension settings in sport mode would be better at high speed?
The wobble is due to turbulence around windscreen and aerodynamic instability in front of bike. It is clearly not from front suspension as the bars do not seem to be moving. All of the RUclips high speed tests I've seen exhibit virtually identical behaviors independent of rider size/weight, wind direction, or variations in suspension settings. Stiffer settings might help but it is a damped low frequency side to side motion. Might this become an issue if you have mounted a top box that accentuates this? I don't know but since I own one and value my life i probably wouldn't try it above 100 mph which I can state up to that point hasn't been an issue for me. At same time I also don't believe in those ugly square cargo boxes on motorcycles because the unpredictable aero characteristics is like playing Russian roulette.
Just got my 2019 versys 1000, loving every km. The ride is plush.
A plush ride is great news, because i just ordered one too. Enjoy the ride my friend

hi, i want to ask if when shifting speeds via click shifters, the throttle is removed and added, thanks
No, when using a quick-shifter the throttle remains the same. The internal computer does everything else.
Does it get tiring going that fast for a long time? Does the wind give you fatigue?
