- A landing with King Air 360 at foggy and frosty Nuuk, Greenland. The video shows part of descend, full approach with circling over Nuuk and landing. The conditions at the time of landing were challenging, with wind at 12kts and temp.of ground 1degC. Heavy clouds and icing on approach to the airport seen.
Nuuk is a capital of Greenland and was founded at teh beginning of XVII. With population of around 18000 people (being around a third of greenlandic population in total) it is the largest city in Greenland. The city is a host to Greenland's government, Greenland's only university and there is one hospital, Queen Ingrid's Hospital which is a central hospital to all Greenland. It is one of greenest cities in the world. Most energy comes to Nuuk from Buksefjord hydroelectric power plant using renewable energy.
City's economy relies greatly on fishing. The local Royal Greenland food plant processes sea food worth around $7 million annually.
The construction of the airport started roughly in 1965 after Air Greenland invested in development of local infrastructure capable of handling large helicopters (Sikorsky S7) and STOL Aircrafts. The airport serves one international route (Keflavik), apart from that it serves exclusively Greenland. At the moment of recording of this video, there are some works in proggres on the southern site of the airport, presumably related to extension of the runway planned, so BGGH could accept small jet aircrafts as well as STOL planes. The international connections can be made via Keflavik or Kangerlussuaq Airport, hub to Air Greenland (which is currently used by Air Greenland's only A330 and in the past B757 as well). BGGH is not capable at the moment of handling jet aircrafts (as per wikipedia, the airport is served by Air Inuit on a charter basis to Iqaluit, CYFB as well).
A word of comment to scenery itself: it is a freeware, at the time of recording this video there is no payware (nor payware quality) BGGH airport available.
Aircraft: MSFS default King Air B360 (360 uses Garmin touch screens, 350 uses Collins)

Nice landing bro! More Greenland please :) Good luck
Hello
More of Greenland will come, I am flying there quite often :) Beautiful landscape, especially after Greenland update, challenging airports, lots of mixture of VFR and VNAV/RNAV landings there!
I haven’t been on Air Greenland’s King Air, but I was once on Air Nunavut’s King Air from Kangerlussuaq to Iqaluit. Small plane, but had large comfortable seats. It was a very pleasant flight.
I regrettably must say, I have never been on board of any kind of bizz plane. Not rich enough. Maybe some day
nice flight
Thank you :)
Landing was indeed picturesque :)
Very nice travel to this Nuuk Airport !!!!
thank you :)
Nice landing, I wonder why they didnt program the ground services guy to walk away once youve parked, he must be tired. ;P
Not sure. Asobo made fantastic game, but they did not pay much attention to details, f.ex. in this video I was using mod to remove trees from Greenland (Asobo did place huge forests in Greenland which was annoying - again, detail)
yo how did you get those good quality bildings im new to msfs and i live in nuuk greenland
Hi
Good quality? :D Anyway, these are part of payware airports set by TL Creation Greenland
You live in Greenland?
@@FastGuy1 No, I don't. Just like flying in Greenland a lot :) great challenging approaches, weather that's changing like kaleidoscope and stunning views :)
When u get the airport pack let me know, I'll send u updates to them I worked on (ramp lights, people around airports, static aircrafts etc). I emailed that some time ago to another inhabitant of Nuuk :)
