How sweet to see how much the dogs love Selah! She is so very special. She has such a sweet kind beautiful spirit! I know that you are surely proud of her. Love You Selah!
Your little girl is amazing! And the fact that she’s there because she wants to be there.. is sooooooo sweet and refreshing.... thank you for sharing 🙏❤️🙏
Mike I get up at 430 everyday. Today I woke up and before going outside, which I long since should have done, I thought I would catch up. Listening to everyone help the hollars and watching your all’s kids jump all in, I can’t tell you how joyful you all have made my heart this day.
What a beautiful father daughter team....💕😁🤗 Great job Mom and Dad...!!!...My favorite tool for my backyard raised beds, would have to be the hula hoe ...💕💕💕🙋♀️
Love the enthusiasm your daughter has with helping you! She’s beautiful, and she has such a sweet bond with her dad... she’s always ready to help... love your laugh and how you are so positive.. glad you got to some time with the Rhodes family... they are a great family! We also love their channel...
It's always great seeing her out there with you, my daughter is my garden sidekick too. She's a year younger but she is out there doing a lot of the gardening with me.
Great channel and family. I subscribed today after seeing you help the Hollar family. Love seeing the community helping each other out. That is the way life should be. God bless !
Thank you for being part of our channel! We love the Hollars and were so happy to help them. We know what it is like to move to a piece of property and have to start from zero, we wanted to help give them a head start.
Your beautiful daughter has a special kind of light that emanates from her ...she always looks so happy even when she is engaging in hard work! I think those of us who still live in what I refer to as "Babylon" are seeing an epidemic of dysfunctional and unhappy pre-teens and teenagers as they have such a poor diet of junk process foods loaded with chemical salt fat and refined sugar most of the children who live in Babylon spend their free time in front of a computer or video games (of course not all) but parents are struggling to make money and lost sight of what is important! Lots of clean food and sunshine, as well as a good daily work out the homestead offers, has such great results on the body and the spirit!Thank you for leading by example..Homesteading/Permaculture is the answer to so many modern problems like epidemic homelessness, epidemic obesity as well as depression! Kudos to you for leading by example and sharing your journey!
Thank you.... Send hugs & love to the Hollar family.... Wish I was closer.... Invoking blessings of favor for you & your family & farm for total restoration, prosperity, health, love.
I’ve been looking at Broadforks videos and I’m glad to have come across yours. You definitely have a wonderful vibe and your kids and farm are great too. I look forward to seeing you again. Thanks!
Just a quick jump on. I would like to thankyou for helping the Hollar Homestead with their new home. It touches my heart to see a community come togeather
Hello Fit Farmer, This is David , I like watching your channel for a few reasons, one , yes farming is a work out. And some people just go out to work the garden and don’t look at it like you do, they use bad posture and that promote backaches and over stretch the muscles, Just working bent over hurts enough You talk about how people can get a proper work out while gardening, #2 reason I like your attitude it tries to be so positive and uplifting even thought it can be tedious to fit everything in a day, Thank you I get to live my dreams through you and the Hollar’s homestead , I have to get though my liver issues and hope to have life after to get beck to living Happy farming, David
You have a beautiful farm and an even more beautiful family! Seeing everyone work together on the farm is REALLY what family and individual responsibility is all about. You have given your children a lesson that'll serve them their entire life.
I love watching you with your children. Selah is a special young lady with a beautiful spirit for life and Micah is just a cutie pie ❤ Great tools for getting the job done, nice work everyone 😊
Mike and Lacey - I could tell you are good people (and funny and happy) from watching your videos. But I didn't realize you are great people until I saw you helping a neighbor start a garden the saw you on the video helping Ben and Meg at the Hollar homestead. Mike you are awesome at demo! Many blessings to your family 😀
I have really come to love your post with your daughter. I have three daughters maybe one day we will post! I also have two granddaughters I am a proud grandma. Also, I like your Amish hat.
Your daughter is a wonderful sidekick and hard worker. Looking forward to seeing videos at he Hollar Homestead. Homesteaders are such a great community of people.
A strong farm girl and well mannered. Chickens look real good and healthy and wow all those eggs! Good to stress safety issues especially with kids around sharp objects. We only do gardens occasionally but I am glad to learn about the broadfork.
another good video proud of you and your kids learning how to work and a great learning curve. thank you wished every parent could see this video. your kids are amazing give them a big hug for me. thank you. stan
Selah is such a hard working little lady. At first I did not think she had enough body weight to use the boradfork, but she did it. Great job Selah. She may just follow in your footsteps and become a body builder.
Long handle steel twist tiller and the stirrup hoe are my favorites to use in the garden. I hope my twist tiller never breaks because all the new ones have a different handle, mine has a handle bar like a bike. Selah is becoming a great farmer. Have a Wonderful & Blessed Day!
After my other comment regarding this tool, you had to have guessed I'd end up here... lol Thanks for the shares, & reviews intentional or not.. much appreciated...
Great team work! Selah is growing into a beautiful young lady! And she's a big help! Is that pup a sheltie? They're great companions! We had one for 14 years! When the kids would play basketball she'd bark and bark then try to get the ball away from them! The boys are great helpers, too!!
What a great helper and what a learning experience you are teaching her. Glad to see kids willing to learn things that will help them provide for their families later. Plus getting her workout. I am thinking like you, I have hard clay and rock so I think to get good soil, I will have to till and work in amendments for a while till I get it built and then go no till after that.
i would drop everything and work for you. The amount of positive energy you have is amazing. You have such a beautiful family and the way you're teaching them about hard work is so inspiring. Congratulations man, +1 easy sub here.
Thank you Gustavo! We are trying hard to raise kids that know what work is and see the value in a hard days work. Thanks for being a part of our channel.
I have a small raise bags so my favorite thing is a garden weasel. A garden weasel claw pro is great for getting unwanted roots and softening the soil.
Hi y'all. I could say a few negative things....I won't. I know you work with what you have. That is commendable for sure. You have a friend near by who is a welder??? The stone rake can easily be repaired. Well looking good as usual. Take care.... Grow on.
I also use my broad fork and spade fork almost exclusively for aerating my market garden. I initially broke ground with a tiller . I find the colinear hoe my favorite weeder.
Thanks Mike for the review of the broadfork. My son wants one I could actually use the one from farmtech. We met you guys at Baker's Creek and bought a bunch of your grow bags which are working well for us. Great father daughter time
I really hate carrying a 5-gallon bucket (or any bucket) that has the round plastic cushion missing from the metal handle - OUCH! A trick I learned that helps a ton: cut a piece several inches long from a discarded garden hose. Split it lengthwise and fit it over the bucket handle. If Makes a nice cushion replacement. It's soft enough to curve to fit the bucket wire but stiff enough to keep its shape and last a good long time.
Great things growing those vegetables (and children)!. I have two Hoss wheel hoes and one 90 yr old Planet Jr (cast wheel and cast tool bar). Each have a different tool. 60 yrs of gardening. Had these tools last 10. Wish all 60 yrs. Its neat to look at old Planet Jr ads, 6 men across cleaning weeds with the sweeps.
I love my Rogue Hoe tools for small gardener. There made in MO and very Sharpe. oh how wonderful that you all are helping the Holler Family. sweet ! thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day
Could have used a broadfork years ago when I was gardening in Virginia clay, now I just want a spade fork for my gardening efforts in Florida. Thank you for sharing your family and farm with us :)
Great info on the broadforks Mike! Getting one of these is definitely on the wish list. I'd much prefer one of these to aerate the soil then doing a tiller. It's easier on soil life.
I like the two handled broadfork because you can stand between the handles and use your body weight to push the fork in. It's actually kinda fun. I wish I had nice soft soil like yours though, lol!
We wish we had soft soil too. lol The beds that Selah and Mike were preping with the broadforks are probably the best soil we have, most everything else is HARD clay. We have been working on our soil for four years. We have to continue to add compost and amendments every time we turn over a bed. We really enjoy both broakforks, they both have their own unique qualities. Thank you so much for watching!
Good morning you guys how are you guys doing today hope everything is good and you guys are doing a good job just take your time Fremont California hockey game today
2:20 Outstanding Homestead Little Helper you've got there....Great job Selah !! 💪😍👍💓 My GKids would always forget the order of activities, they have to do...so there Grand Ma would hand them an illustrated Listing of *Get Stuff Done* in the a.m. to help them stay focused....they would check off the activity and move on to the next one, get it done, and check it off and so one.... It really helps them, and they like the feeling of viewing the list completed and receiving their rewards . 5:04 Outstanding *Toy* ....lol... *Tool* covers alot of area, and user friendly for everyone. Cool beans. That tool doesn't disturb the Earthworm population as much as a gas machine does..I like that. Outstanding!!, 8:56 how you demonstrate how each work activity on the farm , is comparable to a good cardio body workout , Very helpful. You should add this to your future Outdoor *Farm Fitness Book* Many thank you's to Mike and Family for another great video. cheers

I remember using the stirp holes when they were first invented in the 70s. :)
Love those farm tools and the information you give about them. Those kids are growing so fast! Have fun at the Hollars.
They sure are growing fast! We had a great time!

New sub. Love how you helped the Hollars. God bless
We love being able to be a blessing to the Hollars. We know how hard it is starting out and wanted to help give them a head start.
Just suscribed, found you through the Hollars. How nice of you to help your friends.
Welcome Denise!
Can't wait to watch this! Weird question, what work/farm boot brand do you guys recommend? The ones from tractor supply just don't last.
Light weight Trail hiker boots are our go to, on the homestead...they are built for alot of mileage and toughness , great stability and protection for a mid height boot, super light weight, and good sole support , which is good for the back.
Muck ankle high (muckster).
I want a broad fork. I just have a digging fork yet. A broad fork would make spring prep a flash.
You will not regret getting one.
Hey, just love the intro picture.
Thank you!
Super cute kids, beautiful daughter... Can’t you add wood chips or straw or leaves to mulch the pathways and that adds organic matter and fertilizer at the same time as keep down the weeds:)
I often just cut the weeds and add them back in place to compost and mulch.
I looks like the organics are working down into the clay. Good work. I expect next year to see the black all the way to the bottom of the tines. :-)
That would be awesome!! We just keep on keeping on.
You can use your dryer as a giant salad greens spinner.
thanks for the info on the broadfork i have an idea on desin
The farm tec can also be used for pitching hay or straw
Love ur farm looking awesome
I use a scythe and a hand scythe for edging.
I usually watch 2 or 3 videos before I sub but you seem very personable and loved your sense of humor on justin rhodes video.:)
Thank you and Welcome to our channel!
Hey Mike, saw you at the Hollers!!!! Looking good!
Thanks David!
I really enjoy your garden videos, and seeing your family is lovely as well! My favorite tool is my stirrup hoe, which I call a “wiggle hoe”. Keep up the good work, it’s inspiring!
We are so glad you are enjoying our channel. Thanks so much for watching!
Corona SoilRIPPER 8-inch Steel Hand Tiller. I tried this because a it was suggested on Utuber. It works great for tilling smaller areas. I have a 30 X 20 garden and can not use a tiller because of my bad back.
Thank you for your suggestion!
