If you lay some old shingles on the ground around the bee hive it will keep the grass down, and not irritate for the bees. Perhaps you could get a short term lease on that property, giving the owner time to heal, and you take care of his land. If make him more at ease in selling.

Like, "you planted those cucumber seeds so orderly in that soil." Or, "your muscles look great when you pick those veggies!" Silly things we never mention but when we do, it puts a smile on the partners face. Makes the day special! Celebrating marriages with children can be so fun. As a kid, I loved my dad always giving my mom a kiss and a peck every now and then. Love is taught to children beginning with parent love for each other. Bottlejaw or symptoms of bottlejaw can be caused by a heavy parasite load (usually barberpole worms), but can also be a severe lack of copper. If it is barberpole worms, You need to treat with two classes of wormers and not just one wormer. Worms have become reaistant to so many wormers. Do they have a good quality loose mineral out free choice? (Not all goat mineral is good quality) and blocks aren't something they can get what they need from.
@@lifebeginswithaseed that FAMACHA score is one of the most important tools you will use. I learned the hard way not to worm unless totally necessary and the test is you best indicator. If you put your goats on a worming program the worms will become resilient. Healthy goats can carry a slight worm load and fight them off. When you get your goats you will find which color is normal range for them. Moving them to your place will cause stress at first so keep a check. You are very wise to learning all this before you bring them home. Blessings

In regard to the lump behind the goat's jaw. Glad you contacted the vet....I have seen those turn into an abcess which opens and drains and looks horrid and that illness can be contagious to the rest of the herd. The vet will probably know what it is and how best to treat.

I used flattened cardboard boxes with a thick layer of mulch to mine.
@@terriwhite2911 cardboard is ok but breaks down and the weeds will grow through the cardboard easily

I agree, looks to be bottle jaw. Which is treated most often with Ivermectin. It is a serious condition, that needs immediate attention.
