This is the best of the best rower. All collegiate rowing teams use this rower for dry land training. Every cross fit gym has these, and commercial gyms use them because they are so durable and well made. I’m 6’6” and 245lbs and this piece of equipment withstands the pressure I put on it. Buy this if you haven’t already.
Buying a rowing machine is simple. You start with the Concept 2, and then only rule it out if there is something about it you really don't like, or if it lacks something you have to have (gaming, Hydrow type classes, etc.). But you start with the Concept 2. Its the default choice. Its reasonably priced. It works well enough, and is durable enough, for collegiate athletes to train on. Its light and strong. Its made in the US and parts are easily available if you need them. It can be assembled by anybody in fifteen to thirty minutes. And the monitor has tremendous functionality. It is as close to perfect as any cardio machine I can think of.
I’ve had my C2 Model D rower since the end of 2020- between my wife and I we’ve put just over 1million meters on it since then. Is it the ‘best of the best’ when it comes to indoor rowers? It is in my book, and plenty of other rowers (and athletes) feel the same way. And when you factor in the price of the C2 vs. the more expensive subscription-based rowers- and the fact that replacement parts and accessories for the C2 are very reasonably priced- the C2 is an even better deal. My C2 rower has been a key part of the changes I’ve made towards a heart-healthy lifestyle nearly 4 years ago… I put in the effort on all of my rows on the C2, on a consistent basis (twice a week), and I wouldn’t be where I’m at today without it.
I've used this in a commercial gym but due to the ambient noise level in the same not given its noise level a thought so thanks for pointing that out given my preferred workout time is first thing 6am and my neighbour below me might not appreciate that! So you have given me some pause for thought re buying it for home use given my use case though still sorely tempted anyway!
Thank you for the review. I used one of these at work and was happy with it. I recently retired, so I'm going to get one soon for home use. The seat is a bit hard for longer workouts and tended to give me TB (tired butt), but I found that if I put a foam rubber pad on it, it helped a lot, so that's not a big issue. In any case, these are good rowers in my strictly non-professional opinion.
The fancy rowers with large screens nearly always have subscription fees as well which are ridiculously high and if you lose your Internet connection, you lose most of that too. Everyone loves the Concept 2 for its simple but clever design, and they rarely break down.
Literally watching this after just ordering the concept 2 😁 I'm pretty excited, I got into rowing about 5 years ago but I didn't do much research at beginning and bought a bodymax infiniti machine which has a stupid amount of resistance and very limited, especially with the foot rests and motion of movement so I'm upgrading, Thanks for the video and if possible I do have a couple of questions. I ordered the standard leg machine, I'm 5ft 4 in height does the height of the machine matter due to a person's height? Also with the foot rests how do you determine the correct placement? I'm size 9 foot I think you were 8? But then does my height play a role also I get baffled 😂 I just like the best form as possible
The height of the machine doesn't matter. It's the length of the rail that matters. I'm also 5'4". You will be fine on the Concept2 RowERG! As for foot placement, I recommend aligning the straps to the ball of your foot. I hope that helps, and I hope you enjoy your new rower!
@BestTreadmillReviews That's great news I made the right choice with standard then, it's coming on Tuesday so il try and see what you mean by aligning with straps I guess that would mean my feet being higher up rather than lower down on the rests? Il see how I get on thankyou very much for the advice and video😁
it does sound loud. I may go for the Hydro because of this one issue; as i live in an apartment... thank you. Its too bad that the Hydro requires a subscription.. thank you!!!
@@BestTreadmillReviews I actually just got off a Matrix Rower 2-0 which is also magnetic...and that was super smooth and very quiet. But, they sell for around $2,500...kinda steep 🤷♂️
@@BestTreadmillReviews Wonderful review. thank you! The Hydro sounds much quieter. Do you have to use the monthly subscription to use the Hydro? Great review. I'm not a subscriber! have a good day.
C2 is an awesome product--but the one area where Assault Rower has them beat is on the seat. Assault's seat isn't overly mushy, but it is comfortable. The C2 seat has me sort of wiggling side to side after a little while, it's not as comfy on the sit bones.
Good job clicking on the video and then treating it like a Reddit page. She goes over the loudness like 8 different times and even gives a demonstration.
I wander if I have a subtle nuance towards training as a word that says their shirts say Kansas (cos thei ring cabbage (heh)) and my shirt gets the laff, we say, mine admits oats :( heh
Please say yes? To me? Or no? Yes, please, to me? It is right well to practice training as a shirt that being said they shirts in the brace, cirly brace... can you type? I can make you Garry. I can make you Sam. You are Paul and Jessica. Wow. Eddy.

this is exactly my concern 🫤
Super good review I like how you covered pros and cons
thank you!

Hi, maybe try padded shorts.
I am getting one this year. The gold standard in rowing.
It's awesome! Hope you enjoy your rower!
You can get covers for the seat. From concept 2 for $8.

Nice, very nice. I think this in the rower for me. Thank you for your review.
You are welcome! I hope you enjoy your rower!
Very informative, thank you!

I’m trying to find one on offer up for a good deal since I know they’re durable and have parts available

Don’t forget the free app Erg data. Your phone goes in the holder over the monitor.
Great review. What rower would you suggest that would be more quiet, but at the same time have as good of quality and durability as this C2 rower?
Any air rower is going to be pretty loud. Hydrow's rowers are excellent magnetic rowers, and Ergatta/Water Rower makes great water rowing machines.

Nice review and it's a great rower. Concept 2's bike erg is great, too.
Thanks! I really like the bikeERG, too. Hopefully, I can get a video review out on that one as well!
The ski erg may be better than the row erg.
is this loud?
Yes. It will get louder the harder you row because it uses air resistance. Magnetic and water resistance rowers are quieter.

I learned CPR in 3rd grade in Trenton
