- Johnny Depp is expected to continue his testimony in his defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard in Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia. Depp filed a lawsuit against Heard in 2019 for defamation over an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018 in which say calls herself a ‘public figure representing domestic abuse.’ The op-ed did not mention Depp’s name. I don't believe him.
I am well aware of men being abused though. It doesn't mean that he's automatically a victim because men generally don't speak up.
It's much more common for a victim of abuse to be voiceless when their abuser is charming. Many abusers have that charm or they'd have no victim.

@@escher9622 “doesn’t mean he’s automatically a victim because men don’t generally speak up…” what does this mean? You think people only believe Johnny Depp because he’s “speaking up”? His abuser admitted to hitting him in a recording! Repeatedly. Why are people still questioning this? In her own words, she admitted it. Plain as day. Anyone who refuses to “believe” he was assaulted after hearing that recording is just a fan of Amber or a misandrist. Whether he was physically assaulted by his ex is not even up for debate anymore.

I feel for him, I truly do, he is describing in exact detail what I went through in my last relationship, the conflict, the gaslighting, the abuse, the hope one holds on to that your love for that person will change them, will help them return to the loving and amazing human they once were. Recording your arguments so you wouldn’t doubt yourself after being gaslit. The belittling, it’s so triggering! I’m so happy he was able to get out, just as I did. I know it will get better for him in the end, my thoughts and positive vibes go out to him during this difficult time.
Poor guy has such a hard time communicating his words. He is real. Hopefully this will make positive changes for him. He has no need to lie.

I worked with coal miners and truck drivers and people would be surprised how common male domestic abuse is. There is a shame associated with a man being abused by a woman. I am optimistic that more men will come forward after this case.

My heart breaks for him. He seems to be suffering from trauma. He’s struggling to bring to words what he’s experienced. That’s what trauma will do to you. It’s hard to fathom how a person can be so cruel or sadistic. Especially someone you cared for. 😔
WB should be ashamed for firing Johnny over such heinous, outright fabrications in an attempt for Amber Heard to save face. You can tell from her demeanor coupled with her past comments, who here is the monster&who is clearly not. Hopefully Johnny Deep wins the case&can reclaim his brilliant career if he so chooses to. PTSD from a horrible mother, seems he looked for kudos throughout his life that he didn't get from her. Then, he marries this child who wants all his attention, wants to claim his fame, and who never was taught that you must first love yourself before you love another.

Johnny has never sought fame, everything in this case tells me that this man has been on the defense most of his life until he became a father. Ever since then he’s been a father first. I’m so proud of Johnny, his recollection, honesty, and vulnerability are not only commendable but I hope he gives strength to others who are dealing with similar situations. I’ve been a fan of his for decades and I’ve always been attracted to his humbleness. I hope he gets justice!

I feel sadness and love for Johnny…I fully support him.
Knowing more about how he grew up, it seems very much to make sense how unresolved relationship issues show in lives in other ways, that being in this case Johnny basically married his awful, but sadly unloved, mother.
This is interesting timing, parallel with UKR/RUS situation, as I see Johnny as Ukraine/Zelenskyy, the invaded/attacked/rational, and Heard as Putin/Russia, the invader/attacker/irrational…

This is my take on it. He wants this trial. He wants the world to know his side of the story instead of settling our of court. It doesn't make him the hero. He's a narcissist like her. They both deserve one another. Look at his smirk when he first sit on the chair. He's ready to put on a show.
