- Commandant Gen. David Berger and his wife, Mrs. Donna Berger, host a holiday tour of the Home of the Commandants at Marine Barracks Washington. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Lance Cpl. Ellen Schaaf)

I bet they make the lance corporals field day that house.
No, it won't be Lance Colonels it will be Perfect For Cleanings.
That's actually a great topic to bring up, no the house is being taken care of by 4 SNCO Enlisted Aides. Ensuring that the Commadant does have to do dutyless tasks like that, so he can focus more important duties.
Lance coolies definitely do not go in there. Otherwise it would be destroyed
More like Staff Sergeants and Gunnys.

“I need 20 bodies for a working party at the commandants house”
“20 motivated Marines”
70 Marines make a run for it, but only 50 make it out alive, the 20 unlucky LCpls are forced to preform many tedious tasks and not allowed to drink, only 3 will make it out, alive, but not unshaved
i wonder if the commandants get nicer asbestos and mold in their housing
I bet. Currently half of marine barracks Washington is shut down for renovation, mostly to remove asbestos and mold
Hey, some people pay good money for that quality of mold.
Awesome that the Marine Corps makes sure the Commandants of past and present have a place to stay and is remarkably beautiful.
That dude seriously said “Warshington”.
I hear a lot of people make that particular pronunciation a lot when using that name or other words like like it and I never understand it. Theirs literally no “R” in Washington or wash machine or washer after the A and people still do it. Why? It makes no sense.
@@ChadHuey79 it's a regional thing I think. Most people I know who say it like that come from "Warshington" state. Honestly don't know how that part of the west coast picked it up.
@@FoulMouthDemon I was picturing it to be more of a southern thing but I won’t argue with you. I wonder how that part of the country picked it up too. Idk. Lol
Well he is from Maryland
Note to Producer: The opening “welcome” scene is BRUTAL. You made the couple appear like the twins in “The Shining!”
I hope they assigned you to film plant growth for the rest of your tour of duty😬
On the outside chance, this was contracted by a civilian, send them to Guantánamo for a month. Somebody should’ve covered this family’s Six.
Semper Fi!
Re-upload with better audio pog
POG 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its funny cawz it's true.
Lmao!!! They good tho lol
That's Super POG to you!
I didn’t have any problems hearing the video. If you get over your rectal inversion, I’ll bet you can hear it.
@@nmelkhunter1 this is a re-upload the first one had fucked audio genius.
Damn he lives like this and I got buddies who are living in mold infested, can’t get hot water, maybe have working power for the lights, fighting to keep rats and cockroaches out, and getting fed under cooked chicken. Got to love that officer life.
Move back into cement squad bays.
he could’ve gotten out full retirement and lived in an even nicer house, he earned his keep
oh well, they shouldve went to ocs... LOL
@@meanjune yes, because we need a bunch of boot 2lts getting confused on a land nav and invading some random country
Just keeping the finest of 1800’s tradition 😂
I Thank the Marines for keeping history safe and be able to display it. Thank you for the tour
Thank You for your Service our most Cherished Marines. Always find it a great privilege to help the health care of Our Marines as Navy Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class PO. Merry Christmas and God's blessings. Long Live The US Military 🇺🇸, Long Life The USA 🇺🇸
Amazing tour! Thanks for sharing🙏🏽🎄
Great job explaining and showing of an important aspect of American history.
Awesome Narrator. Long Live The USA 🇺🇸 Marine Corp. Thumbs up 👍 if You Agree.
Sweet, I love history! Would love to see in person!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
MAY GOD BLESS ALL Y'ALL!
SEMPER FI, MY BROTHERS!
Thank you for the tour. Thank you for commitment. God Bless.❤❤❤
Very nicely done tour. The Sgt. is a credit to the Corps.
This was a superb tour. From one Sergeant of Marines to another- well done, brother! I must now see it in person.
Beautifully shot and professionally presented.
Tone deaf. Our brass our full of bs
The working party (Pvt's and PFC's) were strong in this episode. Not a spec of dust to be found for this dog and pony show.
Yeah right. You think they let privates and PFCs into that house? They walked out and said "give me 10 prior drill instructors."
Mr. and Mrs. Commandant have some large responsibilities to uphold. May they continue to do so with a happy and healthy Christmas and New Years.
Thank you Sergeant for the tour. Semper Fi
Touring the valorously historic home of the Marine Corps Commandants, guided by this very noble, albeit a little nervous, Marine was an honor and a privilege for me. As the proud daughter of a retired United States Marine and Vietnam veteran, I really enjoyed learning about the rich history behind the Commandants home, and I especially loved all of the gallantly hung portraits honoring the Marine Corps former Commandants. I've always considered the fact that I was raised as a "Marine Corps Brat" to be a badge of honor, and Semper Fidelis is proudly ingrained in my life, in my heart and in my cherished memories of my Father. God night Chesty Puller, wherever you are - and God Bless the United States Marine Corps!!
Living large while his Marines drink poisoned water at Lejune, sleep in moldy and bug infested rooms in Pendleton, and breathe in asbestos dust in 29 Palms. Chesty disapproves.
Whatever this devil dogs been through the ringer, look at his stack. Shitty living conditions and shitty equipment is what trains us to adapt/overcome and to be tough. Get over it
Lol the "adapt and overcome" mindset is an excuse used by military higher ups to shit on people, you are part of the problem, congratulations.
Asbestos? Uhhh Ima have to talk to my recruiter about that I’d rather sleep outside
Living tha dream!!! I cant afford to care about the black mold, the cirrhosis of my liver from all the alcoholism is killing me. 03!!!
What do you expect, their marines that's what they signed up for, pain and suffering.
Thanks for fixing the sound and reposting this.
Great video. Warming tribute. Thank you so much for sharing. ♥️🤍💙
This young Marine sergeant did an excellent job with this tour. Well done. 🦅🌎⚓️🇺🇸
Awesome tour guide. Wish I could visit.
God bless you and the Marines!
General and Mrs. Berger, on behalf of 2 Marines of my family (1 retired, 1 active), thank you for not only your service sir but allowing us, the American people into not only your home but a national treasure, Semper Fi sir and a belated happy holidays!
this guy turned into a history major
This home is absolutely beautiful with lots of Rich history
The Commodant looks like he was reading a prepared statement by his captors.
The Sergeant had more enthusiasm then the guy who is supposed to live there.
All the voluntolds cleaned the house.
This is a virtual tour so why couldn't the commodant do it?
Thank you. Semper Fidelis
Great presentation of our Commandant's home and glimpses into our history. USMC Sgt 84-91
Fine job on the correction. Merry Christmas Marines.
The field day was crazy asf
It was a field week😂😂😂
Thanks for your service you all
Never walk backwards in a haunted house lol Semper Fi!
I just passed General Amos #35 yesterday in Lake Wylie SC. He's a Winger but I won't hate on that.
Semper Fi OOO-RAAH!!!
Merry Christmas Marines, Merry Christmas!
Thanks to all of you 💗
Blessings and Grace unto you all
Very nicely done.
God, I would die of boredom having to listening to those two, God forbid they host anything
Great Repot- Seansons Greetings (belated) from one 3rd generation SeaBee(CM3-ret). Outstanding and Carry on-
Merry Christmas david
That looks more like a ceremonial-museum building than a home. I’d be afraid to actually live in there for the fear of getting a spec of dust in the wrong spot or making a mess somewhere.
my question is which unit is sending their boot (s) to field day the house?
Excellent. Thank you.
Stay away from the pies for a season, your stretching your uniform.
I guarantee you this guy is probably in above excellent shape. They don’t put you as a guide if you aren’t top notch
@@SeanMacadelic
The Marine's stationed in D.C. are prone to have more "Administrative"
Duties and therefore gain a few.
I bet you had your share of pies this season.
Greetings from Germany💪🏻
Just Beautiful ❤️
For the sergeant: You don't look confident in front of the camera but you did an excellent job. Well done Sir. A canadian woman
If this doesn’t prove that officers are spoiled idk what does
Yeah, it was such an easy ride to get to where they are...dumb ass
@@1people1country63 it coulda been.
Great video. Wonderful house. He was Army, but is this guy related to the Sgt Saunders from “Combat”?😆
*salutes this video*
Good job Sgt...
Speaker did a good job. Rarely used filler words like "umm" and did good presentation. Yall need to quit it with the negativity.
I don’t think you understand it. He was reading a script, what people are saying is that marines and marine vets are homeless and living in poverty while these sergeant major and whoever else is living like a king when they did what infantrymen do if that much
As a former active duty Marine who has been inside that house before I must say please stop bad mouthing the family that lives there. It is like the White House in that it is a living breathing museum in addition to a residence. I also am a Camp Lejuene Toxic Water survivor but I don't begrudge the current residence for what has happened in the past. I suspect that any of the old building in D.C. have the same issues. Also remember that when the British burn D.C. in the War of 1812 they spared the Marine Barracks at 8th & I so you could say they are the oldest original building in D.C.
Number 1 USA.🇺🇸🦅
God bless América.🇺🇸🙏🏻
This is pretty tone-deaf, meanwhile, Marines living in condemned barracks throughout the force.
Oh suck it dude, it’s the Commandant, not some boot PFC.
Lol you are definitely part of the toxic problem in the Marines.
Top brass need to be put in their place, reminded what life is actually like.
Make them live in the housing in NC that was destroyed by Hurricanes and yet they still make Marines live in them.
Top brass need a reality check.
@@damocles8180 they need a reality check? Maybe, but it's not my problem, nor am I part of the problem, I've been out a long time. Suck it.
@@shindrithargriethrat8408 lol definitely a part of the problem home boy
This boy looks like he hits the chow hall hard!
Probably so Friday night is Steak night, I loved it
Very nice....but where is the black mold, and backed up sewage like the troops live in?
This home is a daggon museum
Love how on the new holiday tour the comments are shut off
Why don’t you give a tour of an Infantry barracks?
Why don't you enlist, tour it in person
@@a.o.3457 I did. I was in the Marine Infantry. How about you?
I feel bad for that Sgt who had to give a tour of a house that isn’t his and then later had to go back to his shitty barracks 😂
best mtv cribs yet
Wonder who field days the house
That lady liberty portrait is pretty dope looking
The artist may have been listening to “White Rabbit,” by Gracie Slick, when painting it. There’s a touch of Peter Max in there, somewhere😄
i wonder if the water taste like bandini
Where is a pull up bar? Oorah USMC !!!
I'd love to see field day...
They don't use collar stays anymore?
Now give a tour of the barracks.
This new commandant is cheeks
he shid his diapers
Wasn't this posted a week or two ago?
Yeah they re-upload this and fix the audio
In my battalion, bravos co is Cpt Berger
He didn’t show where I grew up two blocks from the Commandants house? The PJ’s! They are gone now. But I served with the Corps and literally grew with the Corps! Two blocks down the street is the Navy’s Commandant House. By the way… there’s rats all over S.E. DC. lol
that looks a lot nicer than my barracks room. i sure wish that the marine corps would spend some more money making sure people have working sinks and toilets, but hey, im just a little guy
Toughen up marine
Why am I thinking about that movie “Stripes”?
semper fi , , , , , , ,
When this was actually premiering, the tour guide's audio was all gibberish.
GODSPEED TO THIS HOUSE N OUR BELOVED MARINES > oooohrah n semper fi brotha's n sister's > tom ! > active 93' to 97' !
Wish the marines at the barracks had running water tho

Meanwhile everyone in the barracks don’t have hot water and mold growing down the walls ....
How many times can you say commandant ???????
Isn't Mahogany illegal to possess?
What about all the asbestos and mold in the barracks
What are they doing in my home?
Give him one
Man the first husband and wife were so robotic and emotionless
Sgt. Saunders? That was the lead character of Combat! played by Vic Morrow on TV. I bet he gets razzed about his name as much as Cpl. Gropenfeeler.
Why?

DAMAI NATAL ❤️
You ready for this fight you started
My worst nightmare is the commandant crawling down my chimney
Wouldn't fit.
