The 2025 RAM 1500 RHO Swaps the Hellcat for the Hurricane and Adds Capability!

- RAM has revealed the 2025 RHO and like we expected, it basically takes the TRX and swaps the Hellcat V8 for the High Output version of the Hurricane turbo straight-six engine, but that change has brought about some expected and unexpected improvements in capability. What do you think about the RAM RHO?

The RHO actually means “Removed Hellcat Option”
So basically a competitor to the regular raptor while the Trx was in competition with raptor r … guess that’s a cool option for buyers
I like this "quick info" video format, Matt! Looking through my subscriptions this morning it was clear this would be the "car of the day" across RUclips. I had 4 or 5 videos to choose from to learn about this things (Straight Pipes, TFL, Raiti, Redline, etc.) and everyone elses was 15-30 minutes. I picked yours because it was
Thank you for the feedback! That's my goal with these, to cut right to the chase and be concise since everyone else loves doing long videos for this type of stuff. It's a TRX with the Hurricane, not sure how others can drag this out to 20 minutes lol.
That truck still looks awesome. I love seeing them on the street
That's a big savings over the regular Raptor
The markups will close that gap.
This thing looks gnarly. Hope these end up in the hands of those who really want them without too many markups.
The regular rams with the high output motor are going to be 12 second trucks…
It’s funny how Ford had the V6 Raptor and most were cool with it. Then they make the R with the V8 and it’s awesome. Ram goes the reverse route and people are disappointed.
Good observation haha.
People are so obsessed with a V8 it's ridiculous. So basically they'd rather spend an extra $20-25,000 just so they can hear a V8. To me thats just plain stupidity.
@@ducktails1695Same thing I say when large truck owners attack the maverick hybrid. I've met a lot of truck owners who "don't care about more expensive repairs or paying more for gas". It's so dumb to me, like they're saying they enjoy wasting money basically.
@@ducktails1695 mostly due to not having a choice if they offered both options for this truck everyone could be happy
@@kemperharris7378 The government isn't allowing that to happen.
Is the high output Hurricane engine available in all trim levels?
That looks great! Definitely would be cross shopping if I could afford. I'm over here dreaming about 1st Gen raptors though 🤔
It’s just not the same.
No….its better!!
Because it’s not the same. Grow up my guy.
@@matthewh630 You grow up! No one says “my guy” anymore. This isn’t 2015z.
@@DeepDishPizza why you replying to me haha. Grow up my guy
I have a 19 Limited & I'm sorry, nothing beats the sound of a V8
What’s the mpg? Something I might look into over a raptor in the coming years
No fuel economy numbers yet, but to give you an idea, this motor in a regular RAM does 15 mpg city, 21 highway and 17 combined.
That I-6 should be a 5.0 L, with sequential turbos. 3.0 in a full sized off road muscle truck just ain't gonna cut it...
What happened to the governor that limits your top speed? (usually around the 100 mph?)
These are limited to 118 because of the tires. Anything faster and the tires will fall apart at high speeds!!
Maybe later they will release a trx successor that can compete with the Raptor R. What i heard from a source that the current hurricane motor reached its maximum power output that it can run reliably. I guess a entirelly new motor.😁
Same raptor shelby 😊
Interesting
That’s like being a big dude with a small ego bring back the big boy V8s
If I had no choice but to spend 70 grand on a ram, this would be it.
I don’t understand it doesn’t get that much better mpg lol
Ordered 1 yesterday! $89755 LOADED
It's better than the Raptor, but the Raptor sounds like a riced out Z. That's not exactly a high mark because the normal Raptor is garbage. The only one people car about is the Raptor R, and Dodge still doesn't have a proper answer.
Feel like we haven't really given the I6 a chance yet since we're so early and people haven't gotten their hands in them. It's honestly been forever since we've gotten any kind of American I6 powered car that's been massed produced that has what it needs to gain a ton of aftermarket support like other I6s made from other countries. I'm honestly curious to see how fast these would be making trx power or to see what dodge does with the I6 as a whole before I throw my opinion at them + fixing the bugs with them in the process.
Sounds like a gtr to me but ok
The normal raptor is great.
straight six is the pinnacle of engineering - of course the rumble of a v8 is gone…. but it rumbles for a reason… V is not straight….
Think it has alot to do with displacement and firing order
Awh
🥱
Doesn't matter if the drivetrain improved, idiots still want an inefficient v8.
Why are you subscribed to this channel?
As if the people who buy this truck care about MPG. Only broke idiots who can't afford it complain about MPG when it comes to 6 figure performance trucks.
Twin turbos aren't reliable
Just wrong . Everyone has their preferences
Finally a real truck motor.
I’d rather have a Raptor personally
Lol
Yikes…
True duals on an inline 6, now THAT is some engineering😂😂😂
This is a real lack of respect for the TRX and for the v8 hemi it is a shame that the RAM people make these types of decisions!!
It's not like they wanted to do this...they're forced to do this. Same reason why the 6.4 and 6.2 HEMI V8's are gone in the Charger and Challenger. Doesn't meet federal emissions regulations and they're not going to continue paying hundreds of millions of dollars in fines year after year just so a few people can buy V8 vehicles.
I'd rather buy a used TRX 🤷
I would never want a used TRX...you know someone just beat the absolute shit out of it and then got rid of it.
