Here's a tip for 2001 Acura 1.7 (which might work with newer cars). When you pop off the cover that holds the cigarette lighter, you can feel the back of the stereo with your fingers (just stick it back far enough, and up. You can actually connect the cable to the back of the stereo without removing the stereo this way. Use your fingers to find the plug, the plastic clip points up, and push it in. Worked perfectly for me. :)
I bought a GTA Car Kit and received the best customer service that I've EVER received! I'm not the kind that will post something just to be posting something. Max went out of his way to make sure that I had all the information I needed in order to make an informed decision to buy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.
thanks for the video. I just finished a Canadian spec Acura EL year 2005. On these cars the fake wood grain panel that holds the cigarette lighter is screwed from behind and can't be popped out like shown in the video. So i had to pop the gear shifter rings, then remove the center console right up to under the radio, then i reached up with my skinny hand and was able to plug the adaptor into the back of the radio. Everything worked fine. Hope that helps folks who own Acura EL.
You can plug the kit into the back of the radio without removing the radio in the 2004 Civic as well. Just get someone with a small hand! =) Then you can hide the GTA box behind the cover area of the cigarette port, and run the cables out the little square plug area to the left of the cigarette lighter. Quick, easy! Took me under 10 minutes altogether.
@joshster89 This video was taken on 2004 Honda Civic. I believe it is the other way around - cover for cup holders is on 2001-2003. We mention this in our video. But the procedures of removing and hookup are relatively similar.
Not a rip off... works extremely well. I got it and installed in 10 min, no i can charge my iphone 5, play any audio source and control it with the stock radio buttons. Even pauses automatically when i turn off the radio and resumes when i turn it back on.
Hi- thanks for the video. Instructions are very good. I have one question though. All I see is we had to connect the cable from the GTA car kit to the second slot in car's audio. So why do we have to do the step removing the part near the cigarette lighter?
@gtacarkits In this video though, you pressed the CD buttons and I don't even think I have those buttons since I don't have a CD player or a tape player. I just have the radio. It really could still work as long as I have the plug behind my radio without having to press any sort of CD buttons? I'm so desperate for this to work = (
can u make a vid of how to tighten the door because when i turn up the bass the makes this nosie but when i put my feet against it it doesnt make the noise
Hi, I have an Acura EL 2003, same stereo from this video you posted. I installed the gta kit today but I'm not able to control from my stereo. Aux cable works perfectly with it but I cannot control anything through stereo it. I also tried playing with all disk numbers and still not working, my ipod goes on to ''accessory connected'' but also flickers sometimes to my playlist on my ipod screen. I can't seem to figure out the problem, what's causing this problem?
when you mess with the radio , will the anti theft screw me over if i try and plug in the adapter myself? Anything i need to be careful of that could set off the anti theft.... i want the adapter but dont want to f* up my radio haha
hui, excelent job, i have heard there are some problems related with te quality of the sound, because if you speed up or at the time you start the car a kind of unpleasant sound occurs, is it true? do you really recommend this product ?' thanks master !!
my 2004 civic VP has two cup holders in front of the transmission, which is connected to the bottom piece that needs to come off (to access the screws). Does anyone have information on how to remove it?

Thanks for posting. I hate pulling plastic parts on cars without knowing for sure it's safe.

@iBawl45 yes you can :) you can control both from the radio and the iPod.
@raychizkool Yes, it would work for your civic 2002 as the plug for AUX is the same on all Hondas since 1998.

I checked the site to buy the kit for my Acura EL 1.7 but it's sold out :'(
You will have to use the Apple adapter, and the kit will work.
you dont need aux or usb. You need our kit, and you will plug it in to the back of the radio.
It have no usb or aux plug? How does it work?
if you are careful, you can use a screw driver, with tape over it.
Mannnnnn I can buy a new radio with aux capabilities for 90$ -_-
and you can buy a 2din 7inch screen multimedia player for the same price
The thing here is for the ones who doesn’t want to change the original stereo
Would it fit on a 1999 sedan bon
can i use my iphone 6 on this
Hi, please contact our support for more information on how to get it to work :).
Thank you.
This is not a iPhone charger, this is a system to make the car think that it has an external CD changer.
So, I can get this product for my 2001 Odyssey and my 2003 Civic. I would be glad to stop relying on the FM transmitter audio adapter.
cgrscott yes we have kits for both of those cars. www.gtacarkits.com
That was amazing
its 100$... worth it?
is this still available?
how much ?
Thanks
@raychizkool Can you please send the picture of your radio to gtacarkits at gmail dot com? We will take a look.
