- As the title suggests, I have some big news to share: I'm leaving at the end of the year.
But before I dive into the details, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you. Your support over the last few years has been the cornerstone of my journey, and it's thanks to you that I'm in this incredible position today.
At the end of this year, I will bid farewell to the University of Tennessee and embark on a full-time journey with Plant Cell Technology. 🎉
Your tremendous support has brought us to an exciting milestone - almost 14,000 subscribers and growing!
The classes have been a huge success, with nearly 100 students and more courses on the horizon. (Join me in our next class: plantcelltechn...)
The support from the Plant Cell Technology community has been overwhelming, and I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be working full-time with PCT and you will see me way more often now.
🔬 What's Next:
Looking ahead to 2024, we have some thrilling plans in the works. While I can't reveal everything just yet, expect free webinars, more classes, and plenty of engaging content. My new full-time role will not only involve creating plant tissue culture videos but also diving into research, development, and new product initiatives.

Hello I finally got a tone of seed initiated and growing. I was successful on my first attempt using a big plastic tote in my bathroom. I’ll be ready for the bio coupler soon. U told me the bio coupler was good for multiplying and rooting but on another video you say to switch back to gel media for rooting? I was hoping I could use the bio coupler for both, maybe add charcoal for rooting? Im doing only carnivorous plants. I have been reading a ton on multiplying media and rooting and the general consensus is that carnivorous plants don’t need any IBA or BA and that they multiply and root better without hormones or NAA.Is this true?
The protocol depends on the plant species you culture. And, if you have found a certain protocol for your plant, best to follow it from end to end. Also, before trying, read their results and discussion section to learn how much success they got after trying the technique.
About your rooting question, you can obtain roots in both liquid and solid media. But, you will find in some studies that for some species rooting insolid media has been challenging. Again, you must have a working protocol for the same and depends on the plant you work with.

Our greenhouse froze. Above ground growth dead. Root ball not frozen solid. Can I use root tissue as the explant to recover the plant? PGRs?
You can. But you need to have a working protocol for the same. Are the roots from tissue culture plants?
They are 6 month old hemp plants in soil, 1 gal pot
