It's only in recent years that I have become aware that obviously, a TV show like Voyager can only rely on a limited number of standing sets, and that the actual ship would actually have a lot more varied spaces than we were ever shown. The Aero Lounge as imagined here is gorgeous, makes perfect sense, and would have been an integral part of the show where officers go to mingle and relax when off-duty, if TV shows could be made with infinite money.
That's right, in theory. From a different point of view, the story-telling, it makes more sense to bring more people into a smaller place to let them interact more intensly. It was often propagated that Voyager is such a small ship, with all effects which come with that fact.
It would also be a good place to conduct diplomatic negotiations. Relaxing, but if the aeroshuttle were used to transport the diplomats, also minimizes exposure of ship facilities to folks whose intents we're not certain of (without telegraphing that fact). Seven would find it "efficient".
I have wanted to see this part of the ship for decades! Now I want to see the Aeroshuttle launch! I would so buy this as a sandbox game. It looks amazing.
Ingeniously designed and brilliantly executed. A great joyride for any Star Trek fan. Watching your video's is like a virtual dream. I look forward to the next one. Thankyou for all the hard work, blood sweat and tears you put into this project. Good luck with the rest of the ship. It's absolutely fantastic.
Excellent work but you should consider coloring the orbital dock in the red/brown used in the Motion Picture. I think it would make the pale-grey hull of the Voyager stand out.
Wow, this could not be more perfect. Keep up the great work, Daniel! Loving the Winamp fireplace - a fitting design choice for the time period ;) The hex chairs in Voyager's lounges remind me of Rok-Tahk!
Excellent work as always Daniel! You have such great eye for detail. The reflections and roughness on your materials are perfect. Your amount of detail on external sensor arrays impresses me again and again. Keep up the great work! You're doing such a great job creating those areas of the ship that are not shown in any blueprints, it perfectly matches the style of those parts of the ship that we know well. Voyager is so close to my heart, I hope to tour your Voyager in VR one day. I built a very detailed Delta Flyer interior in my early days as a CG artist in Maya so its not real time.. I love that you are creating yours in a game engine.
Since I was a kid, I imagined to run around the Voyager, crawl through the tubes and just sit inside a shuttle or the casino and watching outside. You make this dream as close as it could be made. Even if you arent releasing it to the public, it shows that Im not the only one, who had such dreams as a kid. I thank you for your big effort, all the work you are putting into this. I cant even imagine how hard this is. The modelling, the soundwork and even textures... This is so much to do and you did even the animation on the Lcars! Just amazing.
Daniel …. this is effing beautiful! A love letter to the best ship in the fleet..the USS Voyager. I’m in awe of the care and realism you are creating ✌️
Have you considered helping out with Starship Simulator? The worldbuilding from videos like this alone would get so many people into the game. It's in early development, but the inspiration is very present.
Just amazing... I have a copy of the final trst version of the Stage 8 or whatever the name of the unfinished project they where working on for 1701D before before getting shutdown. Its cool, but what youre doing here blows that right out of the water.
Daniel you're hitting it out of the park with this - as always. You're so creative. Biggest concern is what to do with the space with the basically vertical windows. Seems like a wasted space but I know you're trying to be logical with what goes where. Is there any "trek world" use for those rooms?
Can i just say,ive never seen a single guy get the shows and the designs as much as this guy... This is insanely good. And the lounge area with an AI orchestra is brillant. I guess you could just roll up and say, play something jazzy by Clint Eastwood and you'd get it.. great stuff. But why WIP and not VIP. What even is WIP ? 🤔
@@DanielBrainbox Looking forward to the reveal. Kinda hope you'll talk a little about the design process when you get there, did you start with the runabout set since the show set likely would have been some kind of redress?
@DanielBrainbox I'm assuming that those bay windows ahead of the aero shuttle are on the Voyager model. Was there any official source that placed something called the Aero Lounge behind those windows, or was that your idea? I love how it came out and how it just looks like it belongs there!
@@DanielBrainboxI think that was a great idea! 9-Forward would be an excellent space for functions, diplomatic or otherwise. And I LOVE Lounge Fantail (as I like to call it lol.). It's a perfect spot for all the grease monkey's to relax. As I recall they moved Tuvok's security complex to deck 9, so I guess that's why they had to use the lowly mess hall for functions instead of the sprawling and relaxing 9-Forward. Love your work!
You can checkout the Roddenberry Archive where you can actually walk through the bridges of all Enterprises, on DS9 and Voyager. Firefox and Google Chrome is working. roddenberry.x.io/2371-uss-voyager-ncc-74656/ If you can't see the "Enable Navigation" button in the bottom right corner then you migt have a problem with your browsers. In that case try another browser.
@@slvrpltd im doing this for 10 years and i have seen many projects got cancelled because they all provided playable content to the community which is the main reason for beeing targeted by CBS. Sharing just images and video clips of StarTrek Fan projects should be absolutely fine as this is what the community is doing all the time on all social media platforms since ever. Once my project is done im going to obtain a license from CBS. Beside of that i was already involved in multiple official Star Trek projects so im not a stranger to CBS.
There's plenty of scenes in the actual show where soft jazz is heard playing at a low level, when Janeway paints, reads, relaxes, dines with Chakotay, or hosts diplomatic functions. It's the perfect vibe for the setting! Mahler is reserved for treacherous love affairs 😅

It would be so great to make a trek series in TNG style like DS9 or Voyager with all these new visual sets and technologies. Just like Babylon 5.
God I hope that when this project reaches completion, that it has VR support. I would love to be able to walk those corridors.
it will have VR support

Deck 9, forward. Wonder if the crew referred to this lounge as "Nine Forward" :)

a real crime we neve r saw this. always wondered what the giant windows were for
perfect, only detail the stars on the bridge as if it were traveling when it is actually in port
thx, very good eye. I will fix that later

Such a shame we never got to see the AeroShuttle in action
Daniel... it's more than perfect! Thank you very much!
thx :)
Looks like a great place to hang out. You'd need to use the transporter if you wanted me to get out of one of those cool shell-chairs.
thx :)
It will never stop being a shame that this was left out of the show.
The most detailed and inviting Voyager-Model I ever saw!😮
Thank you :)
Just awesome to see the aeroshuttle bay and also the lounge. Now imagine how it would look if the shuttle is „starting“
