You’re doing it all wrong. Dunk a towel in a rinsless wash and wring it out and start with that. Then if you need something stronger use p21stotal auto wash.
A good tip for anyone that details to make money and not just as a hobby. Don't use Big Box store products (aside from something like Super Clean Degreaser). Pretty simple. Way better products out there for equal value.
Another reason is it might not be neutral, I know xpress interior cleaner and surfex hd both are alkaline so they need to be wiped away with a damp microfiber to avoid etching. The dashes especially need this because the sun heat increases the reaction time of the etching and causes UV damage that’s actually a result of improper chemical neutralizing
I’m open to these possibilities, but I’ve been using maguires apc for years and have never had these problems, that being said I’ve always used it in a 10-1 dilution ratio and with this product a little goes a long ways!
Unless the interior is super greasy or oily why start with APC? Assess the situation and start with a test spot and graduate to a more aggressive chemical and technique if you have to. P&S interior is where I would start first.
It will also etch into glass and clear plastics like the face of an instrument cluster.
Meguiars APC is too close to a degreaser imo. I make my own pH neutral APC for $11/gallon
Link for that steamer?
What steamer is that

Or use oxyclean. I find a weird white residue appears to be a sign of armorall. Oxyclean & a stiff brush removes this well.

Just don't use the Megs APC. Switch to something else which is more appropriate, powerful and doesn't leave residue.
What is the gray spray thing that he is using at the end?
Love P&S detailing products.
P&S Xpress Interior is my favorite to use, smells good and works awesomely

great tips thankyou.😊
I've been using Murphy all purpose cleaner. The premixed one. It seems to work very well. Hopefully I'm not ruining anything in the long run.
I have this problem and the wite stuf doesnt go away
10-1 works fine with me on interior
