    The fact that MultiX is removing so much from the rear tires alone, I'm impressed. Usually the fronts will accumulate way more grime than the rears. Definitely getting a bottle to try it out.

  • @danlc95

    My first APC was the Meguiar's.
    We used to have Multi X at work and it was a lot better.
    Then I got Optimum, which was really impressive. That's the one I keep in stock in my home shop.

    Great video. I still have some old Meguiar's D103 APC+ that I have used for a long time and I agree with what you mention with D101. Avi sent me a bottle of Multi-X and I have to say that it is a great product. The more I use it the more I like it. I also like Inside for the interior much better. 1:4 of Multi-X seems to be working out for me pretty well for tires.

      Surfex you have to watch out for though. Sometimes that can eat into leather and plastics with how strong it is. I wouldn't ever use it in an interior. Therefor I'd say G101 is number 1.

  • @kikcodog

    I find all APCs are unique. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. They all have their own dilution needs based on the surface and what you're trying to remove. That's why I have 6 or more that I use regularly based on the task. Sometimes it's trial and error. You keep trying them until you find the one that works. ps -As for cost, you have to calculate the cost per ounce as diluted

    • @percynjpn4615
      @percynjpn4615 5 лет назад

      So true - manufacturer claims can be right on the money, or either somewhat exaggerated/wishful thinking, or more aggressive than indicated in their product description/directions. Trial and error, especially regarding the dulling of car paint with resultant permanent streaking (not an issue if you're doing a full machine polish afterwords; however that result may actually be reducing the paint thickness to some degree - I'm not sure if that's actually the case or not) is definitely required. There's also a bit of an overlap with APCs and degreasers in some cases, especially regarding industry vs. private user-marketed products IME.

    Great vid Sandro mate, a surprisingly weak effort from verso, when the auto finesse total interior cleaner is much better for the inside... Meg’s is very good, but it is also the same price as carpro products in the uk, so not so good a value for money. But, as per usual carpro are good but the only thing that lets them down is the high price 👍

    Great comparison of some of the top APC’s available to auto detailing people. For those of us detailing professionally time is important and getting fast results is the name of the game to stay profitable. Did you find one particular APC that performed faster for cleaning interiors?
    Cost wise here in the USA Meguiar’s D101 is usually available for $16 per gallon. I love CarPro products but a gallon of Multi X is $85 retail. That’s a huge premium over Meg’s D101.

      The Optimum Power Clean is a significant jump in performance from the Meguiar's, and it doesn't irritate the sinuses or skin nearly as bad.

    If you do a degreaser comparison I would like to hear your thoughts on specifically when to use an APC vs a Degreaser. I think of it like this: given the same dilution lets say 1:10 a degreaser should perform much better but it has a higher chance of damaging whatever surface it is being used on. The confusing part is just highly diluting a degreaser to make it safer is there a reason to use a APC at that point (minus things like interiors where I would almost never use a degreaser)? Good video btw!

    • @TerrificFlow
      @TerrificFlow 5 лет назад +2

      A degreaser is a stronger cleaner, which i would use for mainly exterior aka tires/rims/wheel wells/exhaust, when you want to deep clean parts that get really abused. Examples meguiars degreaser, multiX
      Then there's interior apc, they are less powerful cleaner that can still be diluted, but won't leave residue on plastic or carpet or leather.
      You would use them for cleaning leather, or carpet, dashboard etc. Meguiars APC is more of an interior apc, since it contains softener for carpet and cloath, and gets remove easily without leaving residue behind.
      Although there are designed differently, you can still use them on exterior/interior, like for example using a degreaser on nasty spot on carpet, or if a leather seat is really dirty and using a degreaser gets the job done faster.

    Can someone please explain to me what's the difference between a car wash shampoo and an all purpose cleaner? If I have the Maguiars ultimate wash and wax, do I need to buy Maguiars all purpose cleaner? My car gets very dirty and muddy by the end of the day. What's the best way to wash a car?
    I use a hybrid ceramic spray at the end of a wash once a month.

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  2 года назад +3

      A standard car wash shampoo is usually quite a gentle ph. balanced product used to routinely wash and clean the whole exterior of a vehicle in the safest way possible with its effective yet gentle and well lubricated formula.
      An APC is a far more aggressive chemical generally used to deep clean car trims such as tyres, wheels, plastics and also sometimes car paint if you need a more effective cleaner.
      If you find that your car wash detergent is working great to clean the vehicle, then you don’t necessarily have to use an APC especially on paint. But if you have more stubborn grime in certain areas or you wish to strip off older waxes and sealants then an APC can be very beneficial as long as you use it in a responsible manner as is the case with many other car detailing chemicals such as iron removers, tar removers and automotive clay: you use them as needed to address more stubborn grime, rather than use them routinely like a car wash soap 🙂
