I’d highly suggest Blue Dream for your next Johnny Craig Era song. It’s one of my favorite songs the band has ever made. I can promise you that you’ll love it.
Before you check out Emarosa, listen to "And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman". Its definitely my favorite DGD song with Jonny but sets the stage for Emarosa. Relativity is such an awesome album and The Past Should Stay Dead is a great introduction to Emarosa.
@@WWIIonRSset it off like napalm were on my first post harcore Playlist my bro made for me when I was in 6th grade. They're synonymous for me. Open your eyes and look north is really fuckin good too for that old jonny sound. But heads or tails?real or not? Is my current ear worm that's come back to haunt me.
Love your style of reacting, not going for shock value or gimmicks. Also appreciate you never pausing and using a “just right” level of musical technicality. Deserves more subs.
I would check out blue dream, priviously poncheezied, elder goose, backwards pumpkin song for some of johnny's vocals, and uneasy hearts weight the most, happiness, tree village, Carl barker, don't tell dave, alex English, or caviar for Kurt Travis and those are just to start lol every era has its own sound but ultimately is still just their sound and energy 💜
I'll add to this list with some Johnny Craig songs: It's safe to say you dig the backseat Open your eyes and look north The robot with human hair 1&2 Thug city Purple reign
This honestly makes me tear up. I’m so damn nostalgic with this album. My best friend and I used to blast this and head bang to it right after high school. It’s so sad that we’re getting older, but at least the memories never fade ❤️
I love Jonny Era reactions especially! If you want to check out more Jonny Era songs, maybe these: "Its safe to say you dig the backseat", "the backwards pumpkin song", or "open your eyes and look north"
Open Your Eyes and Look North is easily one of my favorites off of this album. They played it in 2017 when I first saw them and Tilian sounded great on that track as well. Great vids, enjoy the dgd ride man.
Times new Roman is another banger from this album worth checking out. Spooks or Heat seeking ghost of sex are good ones from the later DBM2 album Jonny is in
All eras of DGD are worthwhile. Keep going wherever the comments take you. Maybe one day you'll get to Secret Band and get the listen to Projectile Comet within the rabbithole of dgd
@@davidpwolfe He's top notch in it. He's allowed to do whatever he wants so he does a lot of sing-screaming that we've been hearing more lately in DGD stuff. Martin Bianchini is the other guitarist for SB and he sometimes helps make a song on DGD albums
"I really really like this sound..." May be a hot opinion(?)- but both Downtown Battle Mountain albums, and the Death Star album are the best work by Dance Gavin Dance. DBM 1 is their best album, to me at least. I always come back to it. An album where I will belt out any song from it while driving. 🤘
After listening to their older stuff, you should definitely listen to their tree city sessions albums. They're basically live albums and they play some of their older songs but they're sung by Tilian and Jon's current vocals. I'm not saying do a reaction video, but it's fun to compare the differences. Like @ 3:51 it's really empty sounding, but on the tree city sessions version, they added some lead guitars in that section.
i find myself preferring this sound to the last 2 tilian albums (but dont like it as much as mothership or acceptance speech) , "open your eyes and look north" is the best song by far on this album, highly, highly recommend that one or "safe to say you dig the back seat" , "elder goose" is from DMB2 and is probably the best song on that album so thats another good choice for kurts era, as everyone else has recommended, you gotta listen to "carl barker" - i dont like many songs from kurts albums but carl barker is too good
Please check out Battle mountain 2 album with Jonny Craig, personally my favorite album. Favorites off the album are Spooks, The robot with human hair pr.2 1/2, Elder goose and Blue dream
The reason there wasn't as huge of a difference vocally as you expected there would be is because the rule of thumb is that any vocalist DGD changes to has to be similar to Jonny in pitch, power, and elasticity. Kurt was the same way though I personally really wished that Craig Owens had taken the helm after Jonny since he and Jonny are extremely similar and Craig's songwriting is sick
Judging by you using underoath as the background music and you saying you enjoy the heavy parts on this track I want to recommend you check out the band Scarlet and their release Cult Classic. Even if you don’t do a reaction just trust you’ll love this record. I got into DGD back around 07 because a magazine compared them to Scarlet and even then I knew how underrated that band was.
@@davidpwolfe your very welcome may I make 2 suggestions on future songs 1 - Dance Gavin Dance - Tidal Waves 2 - In fear and faith - The road to hell is paved with good intentions

@@jdorrancez He definitely has made extremely poor decisions in the past and fucked with a lot of people. However, I just watched an interview with him (from Finn Mckenty), and he (hopefully) seems to be on the right path. He has been addicted to drugs the past decade(s) with multiple relapses. He seems to be working towards getting through that. Unless something happened very recently, I'm not sure I would say he's still a bad dude to this day. I'm hoping the best for him as he tries at sobriety again.

Don't bother with anything pre-Tilian. It's not as good, and its a click of the fanbase for this band who can't move on from their earlier material even though it sounds half as fleshed out and mature. This song isn't shit, but its just not on the level of something like Mothership.

That is my favorite Johnny song hands down.
I’d love a version of that album with updated screams from Jon

Elder goose for me
