I’m still traumatised by the burrow grubs
Oooh right?!
Same though
indeed
This was a truly great book. Very dark, mature and pensive, but still lighthearted and fun when it needed to be. I think Murtagh is definitely my favorite character from the entire Inheritance series (if he wasn't already). Thanks so much Chris for still bringing joy to us millenials who grew up reading the original series. Kind of surreal that the series is still alive and thriving after all these years.
I have PTSD from my dad and sister abusing me growing up and Murtaghs own dad related traumas reflected some of my own issues it genuinely had me in tears at times because of how closely it hit.
It hurt in some of the best ways. Good work!
This is great stuff. Its super nice to see a writer so in their element.
I loved watching him geek out over the world he created!
Awesome, I can't believe that you guys managed to sit down for a chat, and I can't wait to actually watch this without spoilers after the re-read and new read.
Congratulations to Mr. Paulini! It's amazing to see another book of yours after all this time. You greatly enriched my childhood and that of many of my friends and family as well.
This was a fantastic interview/discussion. Well done guys. I’m so happy for you guys.🎉👏
Awesome convo, y'all, thanks for having it and sharing with us!
I need to pause it sadly, the book is in the mail right now. I will definetly come back to this interview
did u came back already? If u didnt COME!!
I have even more questions than i did before and i couldn't be happier
I’m sooooo jealous! This is the coolest thing ever!
That was unexpected...and awesome!!! You guys were so professional, so well done! Can't believe you got the first exclusive interview with him!
Thank you, neither can we!! 😅
Double thumbs 👍👍 up! Wonderful premier interview & awesome setting & nice atmosphere!🎉📖 📚🎤🎙
(...Can't wait for the sequel, Rigs!)
Finished Murtagh finally! This was such a great interview, thanks so much!
I still cry for Arya and Eragon at the end of inheritance i have re listened and read the series several time and it still brings out my emotions cant wait to listen or read Murtagh
Great chat! I'm in love with the book. It's wonderful to get to know more about Murtagh and Thorn.
Aaah this is great!! Looking forward to watching it and then again when I’ve read the book :)
Did he confirm the theory that Angela (Inare) is a legally distinct version of a timelord???
He did confirm her identity! Angela is in fact Angela! - Angela probably
Congrats nerdy and clarus. Great interview!
This was a killer interview you guys what an awesome experience
It was SO FREAKING COOL
I’m excited I’ll get my copy of the book Friday. The inheritance cycle for me is what Harry Potter was for my peers. Excitement doesn’t even describe the anticipation for this. 😭
Congratulations! Great companion to the book club ❤🎉
eragon being owned by disney scares me.
Very cool interview!
This interview is so well done. Some great questions.
Great interview you two! Nerdy was knocking it out of the park with those questions. 8^D 👍
Great interview! Just finished the book and loved it
Great interview. I really enjoyed learning more about the various ideas and perspectives that went into writing Murtagh (plus that you all are Doctor Who fans). His responses also made me very hopeful about the possibility of more books coming our way. Enjoyed.attending one of the book tour stops and I’m excited for any future projects!
completely unexpected but awesome ! cant wait to read the book and also looking foward to the eragon tv show
Also YES Christopher Paolini we need the next book!! Any Alagaesia story I’ll take 😂
This is so cool!
I love Udvek ❤
Thats It Im Reading Them All Again Starting Now!! (Just finished reading them all three weeks ago)
Amazing interview, he revealed so much interesting stuff and you guys are amazing and so fun to listen to, just subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!
Great interview!
Great interview!! And Liam Cunningham as Brom for the Disneyplus tv series would be perfect!
Loved this interview and getting more insight into book.
Would love a prequel about Braun and the black hand
That was awesome, I'm not at all jealous. Paolini just seems massively delightful in every interview
He truly was. Great stage presence too if you see him live!
This is great! Certainly makes up for not being able to go to his book signing in Highschool haha. Congrats to you both.
I'm really glad you guys asked him about the abrupt ending of the book. I was flipping through the Afterward like, "Wait that's it? Where's the Epilogue??" 😂
I'm going to listen to this at 1.5 speed for you Nerdy! for you!
thanks for this, guys. i didnt know he wrote anything after the last eragon book, in spite of being on his mailing list. As always, i'm here with y'all.
awesome
I have no doubt he could do at least a trilogy on Brom. Literally a hundred years and most of it is eventful and the last book could just be Eragon From his perspective, that would be fantastic!
Gaah I'm so excited for the next book and the next book and the next book 😂😂😂❤
SAME
I'm just saying, we all agree the Eragon movie wasn't great...right? Right. However, Jeremy Irons should 1000% be Brom again in the Disney + series. That was and still is perfect casting.
I mean he sure as hell can pull of a role in that ballpark area. Tiberias from Kingdom of Heaven is right up that ally. Slightly "grumpy", grizzled old veteran playing a paternal role for the protagonist and showing him the ropes when it comes to politics, history and fighting...
oo I had to pause when Paolini said there were going to be some spoilers. I'm the slowest reader in the world. If only there was a spoiler free version where all the spoilers were bleeped out 🤣🤣
I love that hat he’s wearing
Heeey i was looking forward to this one! Glad to see it drop. I figured y’all would enjoy Ed (who will take whatever pronouns ya got - the creator has said they intended Ed to be beyond gender).
❤
Kai Winn is a queen! I hate her! I love her! So surprised by that name drop! Great interview. Thanks!
Is Christopher trying to look like Robert Jordan?
He is Author and he knows the story but I mean this world has so many more books that can be written there could be a 40 th anniversary and disagree with Eragon has kind of had his focus.
There could be a whole book on him again as the King of the new riders and teacher and Saphira is the queen of the dragons essential and with that Saphira and Eragon have to train new dragon and riders and reason with wild dragons and fly to all these distant lands outside of Allegasia and work with the new nations of Elves, Urgals, Dwarves, Humans that may split off into multiple countries and his desire for Arya and Arya could have her own book as well as the New queen of the elves and then them all together fighting the ancient evil and than there future books on there futures and where they travel after that if they kids and family.
Just love this series and hope the stories just keep coming till I am old!
"Guy talks over his wife about stuff she knows more about than him" surprisingly works better with a guest. Really reels homeboy back by the leash.
What are you on🤣
How many years are between the fall of Galbatorix and the begin of the book Murtagh?
a little over a year
DON'T KILL POOR SHAWN BEAN AGAIN. :D
no way
His name is mur-tag ? Every time I read his name I read it as mur-tahh
I perfer another book, than a tv show.
00:10:24 so I stopped the video and I'll continue to read
Spoilers I’ll be back 😂
Am I the only one that pronounces Murtagh as Mur-tog and not Mur-tag? It just sounds weird to me.
Growing up with the Lethal Weapon movies, I pronounce it Mur-taw.
To be perfectly honest I felt disappointed. That was the emotion I felt through the story from start to finish. I appreciated the build on Murtagh’s character but it just wasn’t what I wanted out of a fifth book ,and I didn’t like Murtagh in this book. Felt like even with losing the eldunari he was written way too weak and his power scaling was inconsistent even self contained in the 5th book. Honestly found a fan fiction I liked more.
First of all, I’m gonna say that it was probably an honor and privilege for you guys to have interviewed him. This is where my positivity stops. You guys made light of and made fun of something that should never be joked about or priest at any point in time. You guys brought up the issues of mothers and fathers, and the mother, father child relationship within me inheritance cycle is dysfunctional at best. I do not believe that anybody should ever praise the dynamic between the mother, the father and the child in these books. Murtagh was an entirely bad book. It was so disappointing and so heartbreaking to read, and you guys try to act as if, Eragon went through the same experiences. He did nothing of the sort, I don’t know what books you are reading but it sure isn’t the inheritance cycle. Eragonwent through absolutely nothing. Nothing bad happened to him. No one hurt him. No one told him how horrible he was, and you guys tried to act as if they had the same experiences, are you guys just really stupid or are you just trying to kiss up to this guy. All of the events happening in this story were not thought out, and it’s as if Murtagh lost his sense of self preservation, and I think Christopher Paolini needed to diminish Murtagh’s character so that Eragon can look better or more heroic. nobody needs to spend any money on this book, and it was bad all the way around.
Really cool interview. That must have been really surreal!
