That's pretty slick. Seeing that rolling mitersaw, I pictured that being used by flooring installers - you don't have to get up to cut - just roll the saw along with you.
@@chris-pm5oymilwaukee is over priced and flimsy. Ridgid's newer drawer system is awesome. But they are insane. They did not make a single drawer box. So everything sucks. The classic sectional steel boxes are still the most sturdy and have the most space. But the modular systems can even be loaded in some cars.
For the money sure. But just like every other system on the market. It has its flaws. Plus the way they lock together is a massive pain. If your just a diyer sure no biggie but using them every day and getting in and out of the boxes all the time, is a major pain and why I sold mine. When time and money doesn’t count then sure. If it does look else where. You get what you pay for.
I don't use the boxes anymore because of the sheer pain of digging through it to get something. Not to mention putting things away. I only use drawers. I can't find out how to get the larger drawers yet, I have seen them on RUclips.
I wasn't sure where that was going, but it all came together at the end. You can also put the medium box on the four wheel base and use it as a creeper stool.
I commented on this before. Great hack!!! I'm doing this except I'll retrofitting the Ridgid 4.5 gallon portable vac instead of the miter saw. U need to show some other hacks if u have them. This is by far the best one for the Ridgid mobile tool case stack.
Well done. I like seeing ridgid tools used so much. I have a lot of ridgid including their tool boxes and am very pleased. I hope ridgid comes out with new stuff to compete with Milwaukee packput.
Wow nice job brother thanks for sharing, been 2 years since you posted this and Ridgid still didn't come out with something like this. Come on Ridgid we want more pack out options
I have been thinking about making an adapter for a Milwaukee pack out mounting plate. Don't get me wrong. I think that the Rigid Pro system is pretty darn perfect, but Rigid doesn't seem to be interested in making smaller organizer boxes and that is what I am interested in having.
Nice Hack! One has to wonder why Ridgid doesn't have stuff like this already? I think they really missed the boat when it comes to a portable tool storage system. The Milwaukee guys are all over this type of thing.
Ridgid is the Poor Man's Packout I love the Ridgid crates...they are only $20 each at Home Depot, half the price of the Milwaukee. I bought about 10 of them, everyone in the store, and pushed them out the door all stacked up...and use them for van storage among other things.
I have three crates stacked that I use for van storage in my Transit. The problem I've been trying to solve is a way to secure the bottom crate to the floor. Unfortunately Rigid doesn't make a mounting plate like Milwaukee. I think the dolly in this video (minus the wheels) might be my solution. I can bolt that to the floor and then the crates will look into that. You said you use yours for van storage, do have them secured in the vehicle? if so how did you do it?
That was brilliant! I especially like the utility you got out of the bottom of the crate as I also have that cordless miter saw and it would be great to be able to secure it to my stack of Ridgid boxes. I guess I need to buy a crate (the only piece that I don't have) and get to work!
That was cool and all! And I'll definitely be doing that with my toolbox system! But what was going on with the other toolbox I saw you close up to stack with?!?! Look like it had a drop cord rolled up in it and it might have been modified to?? What did I see??
i took a double cup holder and attached it to the bottom box on the front! holds my drink my tape measure and one other drink! it hasn’t been in my way actually works great! never lose my drink tape measure well that grows legs!
This will work even better with the Ridgid Pro 2.0 with removeable wheels on the Large bottom box. Detach the wheel assembly and the bottom box will fit on the casters.
@@customdesignnabelsi3613 My current idea is to take the medium sized box, install some small hold open struts to the lid, mount chargers to the lid, and store batteries in it. Basically a fully contained charging station. I saw one made with the Packout system that even had an exterior plug and the charger wires all zip tied and organized together. I think that would really help with my cordless tool management for now.
@@customdesignnabelsi3613 that's a great idea! I'm hoping to do the same but bigger with battery storage and maybe an exterior set of outlets so it acts as a power station for the jobsite.
Hey question for ya. Where did you get those cast iron table extensions on your table saw. I've been looking for them and I cant find them anywhere. Would be a massive help if you could point me in the right direction
Milwaukee has a pack out work top that I was thinking of using that same idea on the rigid system. I would probably use that more than having a saw on top of the boxes. I have a mitre saw as well but just don’t transport it that much. I do maintenance mostly more than remodeling and would benefit being able to put my tool bag on top of the system or using the top with a vice or something Like that.
Ridgid, Milwaukee, Stanley.......all made in Israel, probably by same company....all good so pick your price, size, flavor and what works for needs......going to get a wheeled lower box and then this crate in the vid..........
Definitely the same company. They're called Keter. Can't say for sure about Stanley, but I know they make the Ridgid Pro Tool Box system, DeWalt ToughSystem, and Milwaukee Packout.
Ok.. now that was a good one ..I have sat in front of my cases for hours ..just staring at them ..I finally know why ..bro hat off to you ..now how much for the set ..I’m not kidding I’ll pay for it ..hit me up and let me know ..
I have done both of these, but in a less sophisticated way, I just attached the top section of a basket to an existing wheeled dolly I had. I have a larger compound mitre saw, so I made my top a little wider than the base of the basket and then installed packing pieces. Easier but not as neat. I like the way you made the wheeled dolly so I will probably copy that, I could do with another, I have a large collection of these toolboxes now. I wish they would sell the clear top organiser here in the UK it would be really useful. I just read a comment below about using a toolbox on top of the dolly as a wheeled seat. I think I'll use the base to make a comfy cushioned seat that clips onto a toolbox or basket.
Couple of things. Your shop.....way to organized. Oh, and the saw mount. Brilliant!
Thanks, but it's several years of installation, to get to that, and then we have new tools and the setup changes loll
These ideas are pure genius! I've never seen so much orange in one shop. I have some orange, some yellow, some green, some red, some other green....
Me too, if something is on a great sale I buy it as long as it is a decent brand. I got Red, Blue, Green and Orange.
I loved the dolly idea and then my mind was blown when the top turned into a miter saw stand. Amazing and I’m doing this for sure.
Man at first I was like what the hell??? Best idea ever tho. 💪
hahaha yes i know thank you very much👍🏾
Love the bottle opener. And comes with a drill!
i thought he was gonna just put a bottle opener on the box and call it done. LOL
That's pretty slick. Seeing that rolling mitersaw, I pictured that being used by flooring installers - you don't have to get up to cut - just roll the saw along with you.
Further proving the point that all these stacks need to come with drawers, not chests.
Milwaukee has drawer boxes
They finally did 😅

I just got my 22" ridgid system, All great ideas ! I wish they would just put out the 2 or 3 drawer box already ?

Gotta admit I'm pleased by the result. Looks super clean and sharp, When you started cutting that box I was telling myself I hope he has a plan. lol

Mount the saw to the dolly and you can skate the floor doing base board miters practically in place.
Ridgid needs to make that cordless 7 1/4 miter saw again... I should have picked one up before they discontinued it!
That was brilliant! I especially like the utility you got out of the bottom of the crate as I also have that cordless miter saw and it would be great to be able to secure it to my stack of Ridgid boxes. I guess I need to buy a crate (the only piece that I don't have) and get to work!
Don Wallace yes a case or a suitcase
Take my money right now 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
U rock! U got 2 very useful items from 1 crate. I have this system and will definitely be doing this!
Love this. Does anybody know if Ridgid has seen this? Yes I can build it but they should also add it to their product line
I second that. Milwaukee and Dewalt have optional casters available. I think Rigid should as well.
Shit milwaukee caster is 90 bucks
Harbor Freight Haul Master 10x12, throwing that out there. Working for me so far.
That was cool and all! And I'll definitely be doing that with my toolbox system! But what was going on with the other toolbox I saw you close up to stack with?!?! Look like it had a drop cord rolled up in it and it might have been modified to?? What did I see??
Whats in the box at 14:38 ? Did you mod the box for battery chargers built in???
Using the same principle, you could make a decent work top table?
yes, indeed that would be an advantage

Way cool!
