Thank you for the thoughtful and helpful video. Exactly the Makpac test run I was searching for. Saved a great deal of trial and error with building up my kit. Cheers!
I have Hitachi stuff but it's practically the same. I keep my skillsaw, drill and impact and charger in a type 4 box, multi tool and jigsaw in a type 2. I made my own inserts from 6mm ply. Saves lugging loads of boxes about.
The classic combi and impact case is a really excellent case. I modified mine with some PVC right angle pieces and some hot glue. It now holds a Makita LED light perfectly (the bar shaped version) and a bunch of other bits and pieces. Got a couple of MakPacs. They're ok I guess, but if my classic case broke I'd try and get another.
Really helpful video-thanks a lot! I've just purchased a new circular saw and needed to know which way to store it! This was helpful doe me to determine I need the type 3 or 4 case!
Perfect video Andy. Genuinely learnt more about these boxes here than watching 10 other videos combined. Out of interest what model multitool was that please? Wondering if same or similar size to my DTM51. Thank you.
My DJV182 jigsaw goes together with my DHS660 circular saw and all their accessories in one size 3 makpac. For me there is no foam needed and the jigsaw is leaning on the circuar saw. The only little drawback is that I have to remove the blade out of the jigsaw before storing it. That saves more space and it saves money because I need only one box for two tools.
Its nice they interlock but have you ever tried carrying a bunch of interlocking cases filled with Makita goodies around? Wish they would come up with a lower interlocking box with wheels and a handle like all the other tools companies have and make it cost effective. Maybe they have one but ive not seen it anywhere.
Hi Andy, do you think that the combi-drill would stand upright in a makpac 3 (without battery and belt clip), or would I need the 4? Ideally I would like to have two combi drills stood up right, facing two impact drivers. Or all facing the same direction (front to back).
I can imagine how fun it would be going through all the boxes to collect all my batteries , i must have 20 batteries . I use the type 4 walls and bottom lined in yoga matt and store items i use together . Sds and heavy combi with bits , light drill , jigsaw and impactor for kitchens , collated gun, and drywall cutter . Box with 3 different size grinders etc etc , otherwise I'd need 3 vans for all the individually boxed tools . Bit tool tarty all the tools separate 😂 made me wince hearing a brit call it a skilsaw 🙉 nice video though , good job
Cool Thanks for your comment , yeah I do like my tools to be tidy. Once they are stacked it doesn’t take up much room and I hate searching for things. Made me laugh about the skill saw. 😂. You need those makita battery clips in your van. A wall of batteries 😂
@@andyspropertysolutions5631i had a giggle when i heard skilsaw more than once 😂 i really like the idea of having all my batteries clipped on a shelf in the van looks really smart i may do that for use during the day 👌 . Main reason i try to keep the boxes to a minimum is so i can take everything out , that said I've just bought two more type 4's . You know what its like with tool thefts from vans here in the uk . Happened to me last year so always take all the power tools out now and 'try' to just take what i need , but never happens always fill it just in case
Hi A few people have asked me to try different tools in different boxes. I will post videos on my FB page (Andys property solutions ) And answer your questions and hopefully that will help you buy the right box. Thanks Andy
The Makpac box you get when you buy a tool is utter crap. There is a cheap plastic tray at the bottom that basically does not prevent the tool and other bits from moving around.
I love Mikita tools but I gave away all of my cases as they are worse than useless, they are good however if you fancy breaking your thumb on the clips. Total shite🤷♂️
The foam inserts are neat, but you can buy the foam very cheap and cut it out yourself. A Skill saw doesn't exist, the nomenclature comes from the company Skil who made handheld circular saws popular many years ago. And your multitool is called a multicutter - a multitool is for instance Gerbers and Leatherman's small hand tools with multiple functions. The palm router comes standard in the largest Makpac/(number 4 I think) to be able to fit all the accessories, - trying to fit everything in the number 2 (which sounds nasty) is pretty difficult I think. More accurately impossible. The sound is pretty ..... in your video. But nice tools never the less.
I really recommend to just repeat whatever you said in the video and record an audio on your phone mic. And add that audio track to this video and reupload. I put my laptop volume and YT player volume on full and I can just barely hear what you are saying. Like just someone makes some noise inn the room I am sitting and I have to repeat the video section to understand what you said. this is when I am listening this in earphones. As the system volume is full blast, just one notification sound from some app might damage hearing. Your informative video is ruined by awful audio.
Lmao guys talking about saving space, that’s a huge waste, one whole box for 1 tool. The boxes they come in when u buy the tool are smaller. All those tools fit in 2 makita bags
That intro music sounds like I tuned in to some 70's adult content
Not my best choice. Lol
It's tool porn music.
😂🤣
@@andyspropertysolutions5631 No! It was a great choice!
loud porno music followed by wind and mumbling

Nice. I bet that looks good
I've been looking for something like this for days.
Thank you.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Very useful

Really excellent video and very helpful. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the video!
1:22 This box is actually insane to have the two tools + charger + batteries + bits!
Thanks, so DTM52 and DGA517 will fit type 1? It has no description of what tools fit type 1. Perhaps its to trick you into getting type 2 or 3
Thanks for showing the pull away foam.
Putting drills in a makpac size 1 only works as long as you don't put attechments on it like the bit holder or the belt clip.
Dunno who so many dislikes, very helpfull video
Not sure why. But it is what it is.
I’ve bought a few more tools now so will try and do another video but maybe a bit more professional. Lol

Which box to install batteries and chargers? 5:06
Just saved me £40 buying boxes that were too big, thanks mate
Hi, good video. Can you recommend some where to buy the foam? Thanks
Hi Dan

Andys Property Solutions thanks!

They have the small sack borrow one.
with the sds maybe it would fit the other way around as the way you had it the lid dips down to account for the handle ?
Will a reciprocating saw fit in any of these?

Hi mark. I will try it tomorrow for you and post a video.
I will post it on my FB page

@@andyspropertysolutions5631 My other thought was laying the drill on its handle with the bit pointing upwards.
Great video perfectly explained
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome, really helpful pal... 👍👍
Does anybody know if the box 4 (extra large) can fit the rear handle circular saw? I have the large one and it's too small.
You should have just flip the drills . You're an expert 🤭
where can i get these kind of inlays?
this is very helpful thank you!
If price comparison Makita is cheaper then Bosch.
Maybe because Makita bit smaller then L boxx.
But both is practically for used.
Very helpful. Thank you
I love videos where you cant hear a damn thing
Good to know. Thanks for your feed back
helpful video 👍
Super
Hi where did you get your pick and pluck from?

It's locking mecanism is much better in the tanos one or hitsystem hikoki..

Why is the audio so low, can't hear what your saying.
In comparison to Bosch, Dewalt, Milwaukee, even Stanley... Makpac boxes are so weird...
I love Mikita tools but I gave away all of my cases as they are worse than useless, they are good however if you fancy breaking your thumb on the clips. Total shite🤷♂️
no sound or low sound
Trolleys great, boxes are brittle and break to easy and the catches are shocking!!!!
That foam looks annoying as always moving around and stucking

Hi. Thanks for your review. I will be making a new video soon with better audio
Thanks
Sorry but it's so quiet you should re-record it
Terrible sound
It is not easy to close and open these boxes
I was looking for that comment.I have just bought two of them and indeed they bit stiff.
I just bought one, thought it was faulty.
Poor audio
Audio is fine turn it up you whiners
Lol
ROFLOL 😂 why do you call it a Skil saw
Take the mic off the camera and pin it to your shirt. A bad but very common mistake. I couldn't hear a bloody thing !
Так и осталось нихера не понятно
get a microphone...
Can't hear the you speaking even with volume up to full. Sorry, had to dislike video for this reason.
