Dear Paul, so sad that the elephant world has closed down. The elephants must sorely miss your music. You were so brave to play for them. I hope they are still being provided for in a caring place.❤️🇦🇺

Elephants World is still open, just half the size due of what it used to be due to the pandemic. I will make a video about this soon to answer questions as many people have asked about it. It is a complicated subject.

@@PaulBartonPiano Have travelled and stayed quite a lot in France , Belgium and Luxembourg but my home is Berlin. A UK northerner I came here to teach English many years back & remained. Funny how numbers trigger memories Thanks Paul and greetings to you and your family. Helena.

Bravo! That was fantastic. Two-thirds of the way through, during one of the unison passages, you ever so slightly lean forward on the tempo and it just grinds! So musical!

@@PaulBartonPiano Fantastic performance. One of the aspects of Glass that attracts me is the flexibility in tempo that while not written out, is tacitly encouraged. It's one reason I've been attracted to playing and listening to these etudes for 20 years. Bravo.

Philip Glass is always welcome in my ears, but the real question is ... do the pachyderms like it?
God bless you and your family, Mr. Barton. More Glass, please! 🥰

An interesting question was raised in another comment about how elephants respond to glass. I love his work, but I'm just another primate.
