Yeah, the M8 engine is excellent in the post-Dyna Fat Bobs, and the Softail single coil rear suspension is softer, but the tiny 3.5 gallon gas tank is a problem. The 103 twin cam in the Dyna is still a great engine.
There is a pin you can enter on the left control or next to the Speedo on some models that unlocks your bike so you can start it without the fob. It’s in you manual or online for you particular model
Your video inspired me to get one of these gems i just snagged a used 2017 street bob with 1250 miles. This is a beast of a bike i was gonna get a Honda rebel and this video lead me to the light thank you brotha
Theres nothing wrong with a rebel but you are gonna hate it in 6 months, this bad boy you're NEVER gonna want to get rid of! Glad I could help, have fun with it!
Just love your attitude! (disclaimer i own an 2007 twin cam 96ci street bob). Positive thinking and the love of the little joys in life is what makes the whole thing fun. Fun, not just "worth while". You have conjured the spirit of positive thinking into everyone who watches this video, not just us lucky few that actually owns a twin cam street bob :-)
Always wanted to test ride one. I bought a used 2016 103 fat bob. 2,300 miles. Pipes, tune, torque cam upgrade, loud, this Dyna rips! Can cruise for hours on it.
Nice video and bike. While I never got to ride your year of the Street Bob, I own a 2023 Street Bob (it replaced a 2022 Nightster lemon bike) and I thoroughly enjoy it.
I'm a fan of the twin cams and the evos. As a mechanic I do the upgrades myself. They are investments. They are the next old fox body mustangs. Anyway, I've out trackers on my bikes. Hard wired. The old school lowrider and hot rod world used to bypass the ignition. Key on and stick your finger in the cigarette lighter. That's where the start button was hidden. I've done that to both my Dynas and doing it on my ironhead (original sportster). The handlebar switch won't crank it. I have a hidden push button.
@@WhiskeyChaser Lol. The point being the start switch is only limited by your imagination. I've seen disconnected front brakes but the brake handle be the start switch. I've seen bikes with a foot clutch but the hand clutch was a start switch. False rocker cover bolts that were starter switches. Fake fuel cut off valves with brown hose simulating fuel that were reversed from on and off as starters. Most of it was novelty minded but some of it was really inventive. But to answer your question, the exhaust pipe right out of the head will light a cigarette!✌️😜
Bought my FXDB brand new in 2015, I still fall in love with it more and more every time I ride it! The 103 twin has enough power to blast my 300 pound self at a green light with ease. I hear the M8 doesn’t have the same rumble, what a shame. I absolutely love my Dyna Street Bob.
I love my 2016 dyna Street bob fxdbp factory custom. Bought brand new in 2017 as a leftover. Kept it stock just put on some V@H slip one and fp3 tuner to wake her up! Bring back the dyna!!!
Hey dude, absolutely agree, got the same bike 2015 model. Best bike ever in my op. Harley ever made. Love your apes, what brand and size? Are the stock cables long enoug?Ride safe bro on the best last Real street bob dynas made.❤
Thanks man!!! I got some 12" apes off Lowbrow, I think they are Burly but not sure. The stock cables did fit, I did have to take them all out of the neck and re-route them though. After doing that with the Bolt I figured I could swing it and it worked out really well. Twin Cam love, baby!
Yes someone said it. The dyna is the last true…. Get one while you can people. The price is going to sky rocket. Can you go to a front face mount for your cam? It is more enjoyable for us. Just sub’d.
The reason I use this cam is cause it's also my comm unit, plus I don't like a gopro hanging off the front. This one is way easier and more streamline for me to use
I did, and I rode it through a real bad rain storm. Everything worked out great, save for me getting soaked. It still has the stock intake on it which was the biggest problem I had on my other bike. The ram air let too much moisture in on that one
I wasnt looking but found a PRISTINE 10 plate 96 dyna bob here in Scotland, a video is coming soon to reveal. Its a fast agile machine and a lot of fun .
My wide glide had the fob from the factory. It failed in a strange way that killed the ignition and would still hoop and holler if you moved it but kept the electrical alive not letting the bike go to sleep. You couldn't tell until you went to start it and nothing but one or two clicks and then game over. I myself pulled all that out and since I'm concerned about security I wound up wiring a hidden tracker in it. I like the thought of preventing someone from stealing my bike but even more I like catching the cocksu*kers that do steal bikes. Anyway..... keep on keeping on.
@@WhiskeyChaser Yeah, back in the day I knew people, not friends, that would just pull up to a bike and dump it on its side on a trailer and dip. The tracker has helped a friend or two get their bikes back within 30 minutes as the new trackers alert you when they are verticle
