Ruth Brown’s Life cries out to be made into an Epic Big Screen Movie. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️just like Ray Charles Life.
Ruth had such a young spirit! Just a lovely lady!!
Beautiful interview, a real "tell all". A Great Artist, Ruth Brown.
❤WE LOVE YOU RUTH. ALWAYS AND FOREVER!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Her Life should be made into a major epic movie like Ray Charles.
What a great interview.
So real and down to earth. I love her voice and talent.
Beautiful Lady....watching an Etta James scandal story brought me to Ruth Brown....listened to her song I don't know....it's now part of my playlist
I loved hearing her speak about the craft that she made a living from and helped create. She LITERALLY crossed tees and dotted eyes, talking about the birth of not just r&b, but popular music, She was one of its architects...and her body of work, deserves praise. I mean, she was a walking encyclopedia about this music and who sung what, and when they sung it, and who wrote what, for who...she LITERALLY knows all the names and where the "bodies are buried"..in a way, that is not very common with a lot of professional singers, who either dont know where r&b originated...or dont care.
This is pure gold, thank you. Ruth, wherever you are, you know we still love you!
I enjoyed this interview. I agreed with Ms. Brown. Gospel music sound like R&B music even today.
One of the Real greats Miss Ruth Brown.

Such a remarkable Lady. Love!
She was very kind to me. I was on a movie set where she was a featured player. My dad asked her if his daughter (me) could ask a few questions because I sang. She immediately asked us to join us in her trailer. Hundreds of extras were outside and she was such a kind host. We spoke about her life. Then it was time for all of us to shoot the scene. I was blown away by her performance singing about a chair. I have been a big fan of hers ever since. Wow what a great woman
Thanks for your personal anecdote Michelle. Monk
Awesome!!!
My parents met her in NY at a cabaret that's gone now called the cookery she was lovely asked them to join her and her friends at her table talked to my parents like they were old friends I met her the night before and she was very friendly to me as well and put on one hell of a show you wanna talk about an entertainer!!!
Yes! Ruth was so kind to me, as well, when my editor sent me out to interview her in 1996 just after she published her memoir "Miss Rhythm". We just hung out all day as she regaled me with stories. I laughed so hard at some, nearly cried about others. Of all the hundreds of performers I interviewed during my career, Ruth Brown stands out as my favorite PERSON. Maybe tied with Richie Havens. But he was a whole 'nother critter. lol. So glad you got to know Miss Ruth intimately. If just for a short while. What a woman!
Her nephew worked with me and I have spoken to her on the phone. She was a real sweetheart.
I love Ruth & what a sweet lady!
