I just adore her...may God rest her sweet soul. Ive seen interviews and footage of her, where she's speaking about the history of black music in the US. And basically, she's talking about POPULAR music in general, because thats where popular music is derived...black music, be it gospel, the blues, jazz or what they used to call "race music" (r&b). She was one of the, so called, architects of popular music in this country. In the beginning, they didnt call Atlantic Records, "The House That Ruth Built", for nothing.
