When you were talking about those men and how they generalize all/most women as gold diggers and how they live in a bubble it really hit me of the “if you’re looking for something to get angry about you’re going to find it”
If you were to put them in a room full of women from different backgrounds and goals in life they would only seek out and focus on the gold diggers and generalize all the woman in the room as a gold digger.
I’m just beginning to learn please help me if I’m not catching something.

A note on non-Black people wanting to wear Black styles... personally I don't care and most of the Black people in my circle don't. It's more that if people are going to wear our natural styles please speak up when you hear Black people being denigrated for wearing those same styles. But I definitely know ignorant Black people that just want to gatekeep our culture to gatekeep. And like you said that section of the Black community just happens to be the loudest. Its unfortunate.

Being raised in a more conservative Muslim household, I KNEW I grew up in a specific type of bubble. I appreciated Brittany’s perspective on bubbles because it shows that literally everyone is in a specific type of bubble, some just don’t realize this fact and some bubbles are just louder in the social conscious than others (squeaky wheel gets the grease kind of thing).

Idk just one thing, I think it's pretty classist to say if we don't like America to just pack up and leave, and that we must like the patriarchy if we stay.. A lot of people are too poor to move at all, let alone out of country. It's not a super realistic thing.

    • @BrittanySimon
      @BrittanySimon  3 года назад +6

      Hey Lexa,
I think that's a common fear for people, but of course my parents lived it, both coming to America with their parents with no money and a brand new start.
Saddam wouldn't let people take their credentials with them. So even family of ours that were doctors in Iraq had to start all over in America, or New Zealand, or anywhere that would take us.
I think immigrating to a new place is more realistic than world peace, or stopping racism, because it's one of our greatest accomplishments as a species.
We try so hard to work towards the unrealistic and that's that's humans are amazing.
Humans are so cool, we all came from one place and all ended up all over the world. I love our ability to really change our futures.
I don't think of solutions as "one size fits all" ❤
I hope others can continue to find ways to change their lives, that work for them.
      It's not perfect, it's life ♡

I always think of how enlightenment will feel for me as sort of an extension of Walter freemans chaos theory, the idea that consciousness is a multitude of oscillating sine waves of electrical activity measured from different areas of the brain synchronising with each other at different moments, and when the brain encounters the unknown certain areas of the brain will exhibit electrical activity in a sort of ordered chaos, sort of like the swinging of a double pendulum. I always feel like enlightenment will feel like the ultimate synchronisation and congruence of all those waves

Wow you blew my mind. I just watched your levels video and it is something I have been searching for for Soo so long. I always have tried to make a system in my head on how to understand people. And I always felt like people had different levels of enlightenment. I had my basic form of understand that being there are three types of people the ones who are shallow (level 1) then there are ppl I can talk to and relate somewhat (level 2) but after that I'm like.... I don't know where I fit in. Because I cannot connect with alot of ppl because I'm so in my head about philosophy and how the world works. I want to know how it feels to b in other's bodies because it would increase my understanding. So I would say I am in between level 4 and level 5. Because I finally am ok with my body and self. But sometimes I think I fall into level 4 because I am doom and gloom at times. I feel like I'm so close to being a level 5 anyways. It is lonely a bit because ppl dont really get my philosophy.

I liked what you said regarding balancing people on a pedestal.
Putting people on a pedestal is a totally human thing. Our brains love to take shortcuts to reduce cognitive load. We do it without even thinking a lot of the time. Putting someone on a pedestal can be used to reduce cognitive load. When we put someone on a pedestal, it means that we value something about them (ethics, morals, looks, power, etc.) and because we value their input, we trust it, we then conclude we do not need to think as hard because this person thinks "this and this" and I trust their judgement.
It absolutely makes sense. Having to analyze the entire world piece by piece alone requires a lot of brainpower.
Though, we all value some opinions more than others. For example, family and close friends.
But at the end of the day we all make our own decisions. We make decisions based on the information and conclusions we have at that moment. While some people are bound to be on a "higher pedestal" than others, it is important to know what you need first and foremost. No one knows exactly what you want but you, but sometimes when things are fuzzy, it helps to talk to someone you trust. Is that is the balance maybe? Realize that, hopefully, the people you have on a pedestal are there for a good reason, but you cannot have them too high lest you forget how to think for yourself.
Lotta rambling, but if there's one thing I've learned, it is that all philosophy comes from ass 😂

I will preface this with saying I am happy to be a 2, which I believe I am.
When I was younger (in my teens), I would contemplate the reality of my life. Like, do I really exist, or am I somehow thinking myself into reality. It was scary, and I haven't done this in a long time.
For example, like the Matrix. Except instead of this life just being different from the one we're currently experiencing... it's just nothing. It's hard to explain.
Is this a flicker of enlightenment, or was I just over thinking my life and/or what life is?

  • @himekotakeranai

When I hear you talking about the levels I always wonder where I am... sometimes I think I could be 4 or 3 and sometimes I think 2, maybe not 1. Sometimes I think I'm not a 2 because, as you sometimes say, we always want to be better, and I want to think myself highly (sometimes)... I don't know... When you explain your philosophy to a 2, do they accept that they are a 2? It is hard for them to say it? Maybe I'll keep wondering about me for a long time but I was curious about this.

    • @BrittanySimon
      @BrittanySimon  3 года назад +5

Hey Maria ♡ If the 2s are very religious, they think it's a fun exploration into why God is real. My religious family loves talking about philosophy and theology.
But they will never leave their bubbles because they would have to "sin" in order to do so.
So, they'll always think The Levels are "a fun and silly way to explore."
My secular 2s are often offended because they want to be seen as very "smart." Ignoring the fact that a rocket scientist could be a 2.
So, instead of debunking my philosophy in which ranking would not be needed, instead they strive to be 5s, which is odd to me. In one way, I think they should be more cynical and make sure I'm not bullshitting.
On the other hand, they must understand me enough to see themselves in The Levels.
      So, the struggle can vary♡
The 2s in my life that are chill LOVE being 2s. They'll say: "I wanna be a two so I can still complain about the issues of the 2s."
The 3s I know who are struggling are heavily debating staying 2s, there is a lot of peace in the 2 world and they are more likely to find mates there.

@@Camp68 Definitely interesting. That's why I can't stop watching her videos. My understanding of enlightenment means that you've removed yourself from the cycle of suffering through detachment. I don't see that in Brittany just as I don't see it in Russell Brand. @@BeyondSeattleEats I’m new to this channel, so I don’t want to make too many assumptions, but... The problem with perceiving ourselves as “enlightened” is that we don’t know what we don’t know. Every time we climb some mountain of discovery (or traverse some deep abyss) and arrive at the summit, it can feel like enlightenment for a moment, but if we release our pride to look around, we realize there are other mountains with higher summits. There’s always more.
I saw Brittany comment elsewhere that belief in a Creator God is level 2 thinking. Maybe inasmuch as religious dogma goes, yeah...but until you’ve sat with or spoken to that entity (those spirits), you don’t know. Same goes for recognizing the fractal patterns in human behavior or creative output as it reflects higher dimensional realities/the spirit realms: plenty of people have profound insight into that realm of awareness, but are very lost (or binary) in terms of human interactions.
I sense Brittany is herself a level 2 in terms of the Big Picture, but level 5 in terms of the Earthly paradigm. We’re all at different “levels” concerning various aspects of consciousness. An intriguing framework, just applied to a subset of this infinite, quantum reality.

I would love to read a manifesto for the levels. It would be amazing to make notes in the margins of this philosophy. I'm fascinated.
I've no idea where i am on the levels, maybe a 3 or 4, but man i have some 2 moments too! I'd say I'm moving towards a better life, but that has nothing to do with money, more personal growth.
I often question statistics, like generally there are groups: male, female, non-binary or prefer not to say. Those aren't enough categories, but a gender fluid person might say one of thes because they're closer to the way they identify, thus they aren't represented clearly. The same happens with race, or Likert scales of "strongly agree/agree/neither agree or disagree/ disagree/strongly disagree" which don't give reasons behind choices or give clear cut markers of to what extent a person agrees, maybe you only slightly agree, or feel unsure... and what about "i agree, however.. "?
I can't relate to celebrity really, but i respect intelligence, so i do get a buzz when someone i admire responds to me or gives positive feedback.

1:24:22 Why is it hoarding culture and not protecting that culture from people who don’t know how to respect it?
1:26:20 If being enlightened didn’t matter, why did it help you to achieve your joy, why did you have to leave the world of the 2?

    • @BrittanySimon
      @BrittanySimon  3 года назад +6

      Great questions Charles!
      1) Humans can both protect and/or hoard. In the world of the 2s, they should protect (to some extent their cultures), and absolutely share their cultures, so people will see the beauty and want to be like them in small ways.
Culture is so subjective, but the idea is that humans create rituals, traditions and pass it down. It's all made up and continued through nostalgia. It's a beautiful thing. I love having a group of people around the world that I feel connected to.
Culture can also pass horrible traditions down that eventually get updated, as they should, which begs a question, if parts of culture change, what is culture?
Number 2s depend on that consistency though, so culture is a good foundation for them to base their lives on, even if they have options to change...they won't. Often these humans are most resistant to change as well, clinging to their old ways because their identities are in that culture.
      2) I think humans who are meant to be 5s will have no choice but to move forward in it. Every 5 that I know was the same way.
Some humans just get to the point where they need more than the bubble they were given and more than the bubbles provided.
No one is the same, when it comes to the detials, we are all going to have different paths♡

Hi Brittany I was wondering if you would be interested in making a video about gender, being non-binary and why do some people want to be called “they”. This is a topic has been on my mind since I have found it in context of people commenting about Trisha and using “they” but in my head for a person like Trisha being called they almost makes no sense.. and in the sentence form when talking it can be quite confusing to know who is who. I have met some other people as well who choose to be called they and sure it might work for English but it might be weirder for other languages as the whole sentence has to switch to plural and in that case it will still be gendered (for example Slavic or Roman languages) so are they ok with requesting this treatment only when they speak to others in English?? I really don’t get it. Also quite frankly I’m so annoyed for some reason with this trend where cis people put their pronouns in the bio. Just don’t understand why it’s becoming mainstream when it literally doesn’t need to. Niche people can be niche why is everyone else stating the obvious?
Hey I’m very sorry if someone gets triggered I’m just over here trying to understand and I don’t think I will be able to understand if I’m not honest. Please if you would like to share your opinions and some good materials I would appreciate it a lot!
