Hey Sam - I am in awe about your resilience to finally get the mess with the dash emojis sorted. Cudos for that. 🙂👍 This sort of video helps me and others to get smarter, save time and is very, very valuable content. It will help many others in the long run. I can certainly empathize with your YT thoughts. Producing video material whilst working on the van means setting up the camera, the lighting, taking care of the audio and moving all of that for every shot to get proper angles. And it's worse if you're doing this on your own, when you are protagonist, camera man, lighting dude and audio guy - all at the same time. Finding out that one of the cams wasn't turned on, the battery went flat or the sound did not record. After shooting all of it, you now get to cut, sync, normalize, add the regular doo-dads, lead-in, lead out and title it. Render and upload. Read comments (stay awake for the legthy ones - like this one), add likes, even answer some of them. Out of my own experience, every minute of video endproduct took 5-10 minutes to get it there. Most people have absolutey no clue of the work involved to produce content. If this puts contnued and undue stress on you, your family or your health - give it a rest or reduce the hours. Spend time with friends and family. Look at the priorities. Cheers from Germany - stay safe and see ya soon. 🚐☁🍀

I know what you feel. This is my third Volkswagen crafter van getting wrong and one Mercedes sprinter. 😂 I am so patient anyway I bought brand-new Mercedes sprinter and was stolen after few months using 🤦♂️
I seriously cannot thank you enough for this video Sam, I have been having exactly the same issues on my 2014 Crafter and was at a loss, I just kept driving my van with the EML and Coil light on until it went into limp, I changed the secondary water pump and it cleared the light and took it out of limp mode for a while at least anyway then still at a loss you uploaded this at just the right time and hey presto my van is fixed. I’m owe you more than a beer if we ever meet along the way. Thanks again, much appreciated.
Hi Sam thanks for video I'm in motor trade and unfortunately this is a very common problem bad new parts these days expecially things like turbos not even set up correct on waste gate wrong voltage . Keep going
Sam these things can always get on top sometimes but you persevere and get it done. My own build has been one long series of frustrations and has turned into no more than a driveway ornament. Everytime i start to make a bit of progress, life sends me another curved ball and the covers go back on. In three years I've spent just under 7 months working on it. People like you keep me inspired and keep me motivated, so never underestimate the power of the content you put out. Don't feel pressured, the honesty and integrity of your content is way more important. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
I know exactly how you were feeling mate, been there myself chasing fault codes etc, glad it's finally sorted, and made up for you, Sam mate, chuffed I watched the whole video and endured 8 short adverts in their entirety 🎉
Hiya Sam I am new to your channel, I am looking to build my first van...... what has made me start watching all your back content is the fact that your content is genuine and you are happy to break everything down warts and all great to see you smiling at the end of your 2 weeks of hell.... keep up the great videos fella thank you
Well done Sam. We like a happy ending. I’ll put my laptop and VCDS interface in the van for the overland show just in case. Hopefully that’ll stop the devil in Dexter thinking about giving you more grief before you get a chance to enjoy yourselves. Safe journey Bud.
Good man👍 for sticking with it, I know the pressure when you can't get it right, I had 5 days looking for an intermittent fault in wiring.... a few choice words was spoken... glad to see you got it sorted, take care, and stay.
Trust me, we need you doing these troubleshooting videos and build videos. Only just starting my van build, and I'm following loads of your advice and recommendations. Been a tough for weeks, but keep going!
Thanks Sam : not sure if I feel better after that vid or not , just having my turbos rebuilt on a 2012 crafter ; only done 4200 looked after miles , but seem to be going into the same horror movie at the minute . I will be defo checking all the seals and feeder pipes , Thanks for the up load 👍
I have had similar trubles with my 2018 renault master van ( ex quick-fit van). Cost me loads already and i havent even started the build yet ! Frustration shared Sam !
Holly crap i am having the exact same issue with my VW polo. I have replaced the the whole turbo and actuator.. after a few days the flashing glow plug light and engine managment light came back on
I admire your patience! I’m suffering a boost leak on my crafter 2017 cr35 What was the seal you replaced on the housing off the turbo Please I’m going to try it on mine Thanks Graham
I learned (as you have now) never to trust a new part. I have chased faults because I thought a new part couldn't possibly be faulty - and in the end you chase your tail after spending even more money on replacing parts that were not required. For me it has been (in order of nightmare jobs) a suspension air compressor on one of my L322's, a starter motor on a V8 Discovery and the worst job of all - after 8 hours on ramps replacing an automatic gearbox on my Discovery discovering the parking pawl was shattered, which meant taking the whole thing down, splitting the transfer box off the back, replacing the pawl with the one from my old gearbox, and then having to replace all the seals and refit .... not something I was expecting!! The good news is you have your van back on the road and there are plenty of weekends coming up where it can take you places. Enjoy!!
Hi Sam you’ve helped me no end with my new build I look forward to your content keep going mate it’s very helpful Look forward in catching up with you at one of the shows this year
Great vlog Sam, keep your head up mate and role with the punches. Your content is great and I have to admit they’re just some jobs that I will pass to the garage to do. Hopefully I will see you at the Overland Show at the weekend.

Thanks, same. still waiting for checks to be done, thinking i will get a tester too and maybe get the vac pump done on my model i think on side of motor bit easier to get too no check light lately;))

Feel your pain. I’ve been battling this same war since October £2500 I’m so far and still no joy. I’ve changed N75 / Actuator / map sensor / then a brand new turbo. Plus two services. Plus fuel on test drives. :( Just going back to volksmaster now. The van is a lot better than it was. But to my horror limp mode again.
I felt so bad for you watching this, Sam cos I have been through it with my van too as you know. Its just money money money. As for forums, they did my head in. If Id replaced everything they said was causing my probs I might as well have bought a new van. I sometimes think engines were invented to drag you down and suck you dry financially... And just like you did with replacing the turbo- I did the same with the adblue system and a few thousand quid and it didnt fix it-but my main stealers basically shafted me. The " we have to mend the one we sent you that was actually fualty" line would have really ****ed me off. Summat to be said for not bying refurrbed stuff as I learned too. Totally maddening-as is the attitude of places you buy stuff from who make you feel like its your fault. not good at all. I'm proper glad you managed to get the van sorted and can breathe a sigh of relief. At least the new bits you didnt need to change in the first place wont need replaceing in the future. Well done Sam for not giving in on your van. Well done for not packing in youtube. I have to tell you Id have been gutted to see you come off.Since I first started with Viv you have been an inspiration to me and I love our group on youtube too. You are a good man. Bessy regs-Kenny
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife Sadly no, Sam. I didnt find anyone to help me. They are still under the front passenger seats. Ive not connected the second panel on the roof either as its been pants weather here. Fingers crossed its better this week so at least I'll have 300 watts of working solar. I still need to have the timing chain done too. Its ok but all the guys on the forums reccomend changing before 12K miles. Viv has just gone over 100K
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife Bolton area, Sam but I'm intending to try to do a crafty one nighter on the carpark at Kerswick near the theatre once Ive finished minding the dogs.
If you get stopped by DVSA the first thing they do now is plug into your OBD2 port and check to see what's deleted mate Anything to do with emmission and your vehicles will be sized and you fined up to 1k It's not worth the risk for me 👍
How did you find removing the original Manifold? I was going to do mine when my gasket went but was told it was a 7 hour job from a vw mechanic and a pain in the 🍑. Ended up taking yo a garage but still fancied having a go
The reason your vacuum disappeared is because you had the pipe disconnected from the actuator on the turbo which also has a sensor on top, when the ECU didn't see any movement with the sensor it shut the valve you replaced down. When you restart the engine and the fault is away for a minute or so, thats because most VAG group vehicles automatically reset the fault, because your fault is not electrical but a tolerance issue, where the ecu wants to see movement of the turbo vane actuator as a signal of voltage, and that doesnt match a reference value it will bring up your fault. But not instantly like you would see with short circuits etc. In other words this is a mechanical issue with the turbo vanes. I can usually diagnose this by removing the pipe on the actuator, starting the engine and watching how feeely the turbo vane rod will move and how far it moves. From experience I'd suspect the vanes are seized. Videos like this might make people appreciate properly equipped, trained and invested mechanics. Fair play for sticking at it, but any experience technician would of had this diagnosed in no time and not fired parts at it
Intermitant fault that many crafters suffer from and the so-called mechanics at vw struggle to find or even diagnose cost many people ££££ as they have to keep returning to the garage, in an attempt to determine the cause It turned out to be a piece of rubber that blocked a vacuum pump oil channel 😁👍
Hi every 1 i add the same problems and i noticed my sentrol locking wasent working offbthe key so put new battery in and pig tail went off just left engin light on so bought a fault finder off ebay pluged in in and terned it off jobs a goodun hope this helps Ry
Hi everyone, I have crafter 2012 numberplate have the same problem I mean the same control lights coming out coil and engine check but with my van was problem pump. Be that mean the small electric pump the code was as well showing ASR problem, but after three days after changing the pump, the problem gone on his own without plugging computer in
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife I have a 2008 2.5 TDI. First turbo, MAP, MAF, N75 replaced, checked all vacuum lines and pump, pressure tested the entire pressure circuit from turbo to inlet manifold. Beside one time I made a test drive and reached 240 kPa and problem seemed to be solved ... when I made the final assembly something went off and the pressure never reached more than 160 kPa which dwindles down to 135 almost instantly. I am merely an amateur mecanic and finally in desperate mood brought it to a specialist tuning guy... who seems to have a bit of a struggle with it as well and even cosiders that there's another cause. Fingers crossed I hope I actually get some news from him today. I'll keep you posted! Have a nice Sunday

You summed it up nicely, you’re a modern day story teller, if you get a buck or two off the side great, but remember why you started this, it was to share your families journey ! Keep it going buddy Crafty Adventures x
Cheers dude it was just a wobble honestly 😁👍
Feel your pain. I’ve been battling this same war since October
£2500 I’m so far and still no joy.
I’ve changed N75 / Actuator / map sensor / then a brand new turbo. Plus two services. Plus fuel on test drives. :(
Just going back to volksmaster now. The van is a lot better than it was. But to my horror limp mode again.
The fault has reared its ugly head again 😪
I have one more thing to try 🤞 it works.
I will let you know how I get on
Keep up the good videos pal
😁👍
Sending allllll our love ❤ (ritarelay) ❤
Thank youn❤️
Cheers mate have you got your battery swapped out yet?
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife Sadly no, Sam. I didnt find anyone to help me. They are still under the front passenger seats. Ive not connected the second panel on the roof either as its been pants weather here. Fingers crossed its better this week so at least I'll have 300 watts of working solar. I still need to have the timing chain done too. Its ok but all the guys on the forums reccomend changing before 12K miles. Viv has just gone over 100K
@Viv-I-van goes forth where do you live pal
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife Bolton area, Sam but I'm intending to try to do a crafty one nighter on the carpark at Kerswick near the theatre once Ive finished minding the dogs.
@@viv-i-vangoesforth Keswick would be a cool test run
Hey. Sam
would you think of removing DPF and getting it remap lest sensors to worried about
If you get stopped by DVSA the first thing they do now is plug into your OBD2 port and check to see what's deleted mate
Anything to do with emmission and your vehicles will be sized and you fined up to 1k
It's not worth the risk for me 👍
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife
yea not worth it
keep up the good work on the channel.
How did you find removing the original Manifold? I was going to do mine when my gasket went but was told it was a 7 hour job from a vw mechanic and a pain in the 🍑.
Ended up taking yo a garage but still fancied having a go
It's an hour tops mate takes me a little longer as I record everything 😁👍
Fair play for sticking at it, but any experience technician would of had this diagnosed in no time and not fired parts at it
Intermitant fault that many crafters suffer from and the so-called mechanics at vw struggle to find or even diagnose cost many people ££££ as they have to keep returning to the garage, in an attempt to determine the cause
It turned out to be a piece of rubber that blocked a vacuum pump oil channel 😁👍

OMG THE PIGTAIL AGAIN 😮
I hate them 😒
Common on aftermarket wastewater. Horrible things always go geniune . Saves a lot off hassle
Hi every 1 i add the same problems and i noticed my sentrol locking wasent working offbthe key so put new battery in and pig tail went off just left engin light on so bought a fault finder off ebay pluged in in and terned it off jobs a goodun hope this helps

Hi everyone, I have crafter 2012 numberplate have the same problem I mean the same control lights coming out coil and engine check but with my van was problem pump. Be that mean the small electric pump the code was as well showing ASR problem, but after three days after changing the pump, the problem gone on his own without plugging computer in
Glad you got it sorted
Can I bring my van to you same problem
have you got it sorted yet?
welcome to service warranty
It came in handy
Dear dear lord, I have exactly the same problem
how are you getting on with it? it is a common fault
Hello mate. I've had a friends crafter 2015 for 2 and a half weeks and i cant get rid of the fault code P265300. I've changed everything on it. any help is HIGHLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU.
